Assessing the environmental uncontrollable elements of Swedish market that can influence and haveimpact on the presence of Lithuanian breakfast cereal producer (Palaseja) in Sweden. : A study of Swedish breakfast cereal market

Ahmed, Shakeel, Imtiaz, Muhammad January 2009 (has links)
Problem: Palaseja is considering Sweden as a prospect market to enter and operate so, a study of Swedish business environment and its uncontrollable elements is required for Palaseja to serve this purpose effectively. Method: Thesis has followed a combination of exploratory & descriptive research and a qualitative approach has been applied. Both primary and secondary data have been gathered, primary data was gathered through interviews from retail stores' officials and Palaseja's sales manager. Conclusion: In this study, different environmental uncontrollable elements of Swedish market have been explored to find out how they can influence a new entrant Palaseja in Sweden. There are a few legal requirements for Palaseja to enter in food market of Sweden. Economic forces are facing a little slow down effect due to recent global economic slump but are quite encouraging for any new company entering Sweden in the long run. Breakfast cereal products that Palaseja produces have found to be a common part of cultural breakfast habits and huge consumption of breakfast cereal per capita also seems to be encouraging for new comers in this industry. Competitive forces have been found to be extremely challenging and quite discouraging in some way. The country of origin effect seems to be not so strong in Sweden although brand recognition of Palaseja is likely to cause some trouble to Palaseja's success.

An army of working individualists? : A phenomenological interview study of Swedish soldiers going to, working and being in Afghanistan

Brulin, Emet January 2012 (has links)
This thesis is concerned with the lived life-world of Swedish soldiers that have worked in Afghanistan as part the ISAF mission. It studies the soldiers' experiences by drawing on five qualitative, open interviews and analyses these from a phenomenological perspective. In the thesis some existing research on soldiers is reviewed critically and it is argued that there is a need for an exploratory study of those that execute international peace operations. The analysis of the soldiers' experiences results in a thematic understanding around, first; reasons for going to Afghanistan and how they handle the different life-style and level of control they have on their work and situation. Second, how they perceive their stay in Afghanistan which mostly consists of working, with small possibilities and desire to relax, apart from working out and play games. The third theme concerns perceptions of their bodies, thoughts about being and having been there as well as gender differences. Lastly it is noted that the soldiers hold rather limited experiences of the Afghan people, both the security forces and civilians. It is also argued that their experiences can be understood in a wider context as, first, a self- realizing job or adventure rather than a vocation, and second as being divided along modern and post-modern logics consisting of different values and regimes of control of the individual.

Widebeck, Jenny, Grönvall, Ida January 2010 (has links)
The aim of the study was to examine how Swedish tabloid journalism presented the contestants in the Swedish version of the reality show Idol 2009. We wanted to see which approaches tabloid news papers use when constructing the public identities of them. We have used text analysis to examine 37 articles and nine front pages with focus on the words, propositions, comparisons and parables that describe four of the contestants. In addition we have looked at myths and connotations shown in the pictures by using a semiotic analysis. The results show that the Swedish tabloids tend to describe the contestants in relation to their performances and personalities. They also compare them to stereotypes, music genres, celebrities and the other contestants. The pictures tend to enhance the propositions made by the articles.

Hur hanterar företagen kravet på revisionsutskott? : - En studie av fem svenska börsföretag

Davidsson, Marcus, Johansson, Camilla, Nilsson, Johanna January 2009 (has links)

Sterzenbach, Jakob January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate how two elementary schools work with Swedish and Swedish as a second language through four teachers thoughts and perceptions. My issues are: How do the teachers perceive the Swedish classes in the school, and how do they perceive that they are conducting it? Which examples of material for teaching do the teachers show me and how do they use it in each school? Do the work with Swedish and Swedish as a second language in the multi-ethnic school and the more mono-ethnic school differ according to how the teachers perceive they are conducting it? Do the teachers think that the equivalent education that is part of the curriculums values and mission always is maintained and why/why not? My study is performed from a sociocultural perspective. My conclusions are that the teachers from the multi-ethnic school are more aware of how to work with Swedish or Swedish as a second language regardless of the students ethnic or national origins. Some aspects of how the teachers work with Swedish are equal with each others, but there are differences to. The teachers do not think that the education always is equivalent.

When in Rome do as the Romans : A study of Swedish export companies' attitude towards corrupt behavior

Storm, Ida January 2008 (has links)

This thesis examines Swedish corruption culture and analyzes if Swedish export companies have a different attitude towards corrupt behavior when exporting to high and low income countries. A regression of Swedish export is run for all the world’s countries with available data, a total of 165 countries. Out of those 165 countries, 98 are classified by the United Nations as low or low-middle income countries and 67 are classified as high or high-middle income countries. The regression applies to the gravity model approach that comprises variables explaining the size of Swedish exports to each importing country. To examine Swedish corruption culture a theoretical background to the structure of corruption in Swedish companies is presented along with some corruption scandals involving Swedish companies.

The findings show that a lower level of corruption in developed countries has a positive influence on Swedish export to those countries. However, in the case of developing countries the level of corruption does not have any impact on Swedish export flows. In other words, if a poor country increases or decreases its level of corruption it would not affect the decision of a Swedish company in deciding whether to export to this country or not. The conclusion drawn is that Swedish companies are more willing to bribe developing countries as opposed to developed countries.

A study about if and how teachers' attitude towards, and experience of grammar affect their grammar teaching

Ider, Anna, Jidah, Diyana January 2008 (has links)

/
The purpose of this essay is to examine how grammar teaching is conducted by teachers in upper secondary school and if it is affected by their attitude towards, and experience of grammar. We have chosen in-depth interviews as our method of investigation in which we have interviewed seven upper secondary school teachers. The investigation shows that the teachers find grammar important and interesting, and also that their teaching methods vary. Some chose to integrate the grammar teaching, for example in the writing process while others prefer teaching grammar separately. Furthermore the investigation shows that teachers’ experience of grammar affects their interest in grammar, and therefore also in various extents has an effect on the way they conduct their teaching. An interesting deviation is that one of the teachers who really was excited about the university grammar during the teacher education, and has a great personal interest in it, chooses not to teach grammar at all.
