Previous issue date: 2008-01-18 / The dissertation analyzes the importance of rural social welfare in the family farming.
It approaches the effects of the universalization process of social welfare considering the changes resulting from the declaration of the 1988 Constitution. The study was
developed based on a research performed in 238 rural settlements existing in four areas of study, corresponding to the micro-regions of Pelotas, Caxias do Sul,
Frederico Westphalen and Cerro Largo, which are situated in the south, northeast, north and northwest of the geography on the Rio Grande do Sul respectively. The
results show that the retirements and pensions are essentially important under the perspective of reducing inequalities. They represent an important income source for the families as well as for the economy of these settlements. The thesis that these resources are equally important to finance farm and cattle raising activities was proven under a considerable proportion (53%) in the investigated settlements as a
whole. Besides, the research analyzed the evolution of the number and value of rural retirements and pensions for the years 2001 and 2006 in the four above mentioned
micro-regions. If the decade of 1990 presents a substantial expansion in the system, the raising rates are reduced in the first six years of the XXI century for the number of
retirement and pension holders in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. This data is important as it contradicts some opinions which insist upon the need to review the
ways of granting benefits to the rural clientele, on account of the increase in the number of such holders, a trend which was not confirmed in the course of the present / A dissertação analisa a importância da previdência social rural na dinâmica da agricultura familiar gaúcha.
do Sul.

This exploratory study administered structured interviews, incorporating the Household Hunger Scale, Months of Adequate Household Food Provisioning indicator and self designed questions soliciting general household information, to Harare rural residents. The population was divided into clusters and a simple random sampling was used to select three clusters, Mufakose, Glen Norah and Warren Park, thereafter, systematic random sampling was employed within selected clusters.

The taxation of social security resources is a switch between social contributions and taxes in social security resources, and also a general mechanism leading to the globalization of the public finance law, the standardization of obligatory contributions and social models. Social finances become integral parts of public finances due to taxation system. The thesis proposes a redefinition of taxation that is the link between tax system and social security. The repercussions of this mechanism are both structural and parliamentarians

Compliance with international standards on compensation for occupational injuries and diseases by Zimbabwe and South AfricaZvidzayi, Tapiwanashe January 2015 (has links)
Magister Legum - LLM / This mini thesis provides a comparative study on two Member States of the ILO. These are, namely: South Africa and Zimbabwe. The purpose of this research is to find out whether Zimbabwe and South Africa are complying with the standards set by the ILO regarding the issue of compensation for occupational injuries and diseases. The terms workers compensation and employment injury benefits are frequently used interchangeably.¹³ Workers compensation is the older term, generally used originally to refer to schemes which provide benefits in the case of death and incapacity due to accidents at work and, later, due to prescribed occupational diseases as well. These benefits could be temporary or permanent, total or partial. In these ILO instruments, the term employment injury is used to cover both accidents at work and occupational diseases.¹⁴ This mini-thesis determines whether South Africa and Zimbabwe are complying with or failing to meet the standards set by the ILO. The research further provides recommendations regarding the shortfalls that South Africa and Zimbabwe are facing so that they will get in line with the standards of ILO, because this is essential to the lives of millions of workers working in these two countries.

v angličtině Coordination of social security system is very important for migrant workers who, during their careers working in more countries around the world. This creates entitlements to the payment of social benefits in countries where they have gainful employment, but are often affected by sufficient insurance periods, which may not, however, be fulfilled in that country. For this reason, countries enter into agreements among themselves in order to facilitate migrant workers access to social security benefits to be entitled. Adjustment between states exists both at the multilateral level and at bilateral level. This laws shows how the coordination of social security system regulated at the multilateral level, especially within the European Union but also at the bilateral level the example of treaties that Czech Republic has concluded with other world countries, also focuses on the introduction of institutions that coordinate social security system fulfill in Czech Republic. The productive utilisation of child support grants in BenoniNjingti, Yvonne Senge January 2015 (has links)
This treatise investigated the productive utilisation of child support grants (CSGs) with particular reference to Benoni town. The South African government introduced the CSG, which replaced the old maintenance grant in 1998. The aim of the CSG is to cater for the needs of vulnerable children living in South Africa such as education, basic health, food, shelter and protection. Since its introduction, CSG has been able to reach millions of vulnerable children in South Africa. Despite this success, the grant is still fraught with administrative inefficiencies and fraudulent activities committed by some CSG recipients. The researcher’s findings exposed the inappropriate and wasteful expenditure associated with the grant usage, by recipients of CSG. The researcher discovered that some mothers use grant money to buy alcohol and beauty products for themselves instead of the child’s needs. The reason associated to this wasteful expenditure was that the child is kept under the care of the grandmother who takes good care of the child, thus giving the mother the opportunity to use the grant she collects as she wishes. The main aim of this investigation was to find out how CSGs can be effectively and efficiently utilised by parents and guardians in Benoni and to make recommendations for better usage. The study also examined the effects of CSGs on children in Benoni and whether they are beneficial or not. The qualitative method of research was used and the study was descriptive in nature. Questionnaires were distributed to state officials and interviews conducted with CSG recipients. The findings from this research revealed that some of the respondents use the money to buy alcohol and beauty product for themselves instead of the child’s needs, making the implementation of CSGs ineffective and inefficient. This shows that there is a misuse of state funds by recipients of CSGs whereas there are millions of vulnerable children out there who do not have access to this cash transfer. The department of social security is encouraged to ensure effective and efficient utilisation of CSGs by recipients through state officials.

Zhodnocení průběhu reformy sociálního zabezpečení v ČR / Evaluation of the Process of the Social Security Reform in the Czech RepublicVotýpková, Hana January 2007 (has links)
Social security is an important part of the state social policy. The social security development depends upon many factors and their interaction and interpretation changes in historic context. Historic sources of social security development show a strong and urgent need of the state to deal with these questions. Chapter 1 contains a continual historical overview of social security in Czech Republic. The development of this important part of the state economy is closely connected to political and economical situation and the need of valid legal enactment implementation. The social security concept is inspired by proven models of other countries, especially Sweden. The basic system principles have to be respected simultaneously. Chapter 3 follows the fundamental problems which have been monitored since 2000. Their particular form is summed up in seven principal paragraphs. As the Czech Republic is now a part of the European economic space I find very important to treat the basic principles and objectives of social policy in European countries, however in general terms. Chapter 5 describes individual phases of the social security reform which have been put into effect in 2008 and also a concept which has been prepared for 2009
