[en] WHO DOES THE LAPA LIVE IS US: IMAGINARY AND GENTRIFICATION OF THE FOUR LETTERS / [pt] QUEM FAZ A LAPA VIVER É NÓS: IMAGINÁRIO E GENTRIFICAÇÃO DO BAIRRO DAS QUATRO LETRAS

FABIANA DE PINHO 30 March 2017 (has links)
[en] The dissertation Who does the Lapa live is us: imaginary and gentrification of the four letters district intends to address the imaginary construction of the Lapa neighborhood in the city of Rio de Janeiro, in order to understand what the imaginary role in gentrification processes and this neighborhood like this, the imaginary, survives in discursive expressions today. To achieve the objectives of this work, in view of the urban imaginary exist from collective constructions, we chose to examine some discursive expressions, as literary works - the Lapa books, Oswaldo Martins; Lapa Lapa and Night, Luis Martins; Lips that kissed, Agnaldo Silva - the anthologies Gasparino Da Mata and Isabel Lustosa; some songs; some film productions as LAPA documentary, Cavi Borges and Emilio Domingos, the film Madame Satan, Karim Ainouz, and interviews with the musician Pedro Miranda, former member of the Seed Group, and the journalist Bruno Maia.

ISABEL PARANHOS MONTEIRO 07 July 2017 (has links)
[en] The year 1990 was the mark of a great crisis in the film industry of Brazil. For political and economic reasons, added to a general crisis in the country, signed the obituary of national cinema. ANA TERESA POLLO MENDONCA 09 November 2007 (has links)

[en] THE DIALOGUE BETWEEN FAITH AND SCIENCE IN THE IMAGINARY OF TECHNOLOGY / [pt] UM DIÁOLOGO ENTRE FÉ E CIÊNCIA NO IMAGINÁRIO TECNOLÓGICO

RAQUEL OLIVEIRA DE CASTRO 07 October 2005 (has links)
[en] Technological inventions are increasingly present in many fields of society, helping scientific research by developing software and more powerful computers, making it possible probe the deepest corners of the human body so as to prolong life and improve its quality. Technology is also present in entertainment, in the form of games and mechanisms that produce a virtual reality. Ultimately, however, it has become more engaged in a dialogue with contemporary religiosity. This thesis explores the dialogue between faith and science as present in the imaginary of technology, through the study of sciencefiction films and some of the ideologies circulating in cyberspace.

[en] THE IMAGINARIUM OF LAPA: APOGEE, DECAY AND RECONSTRUCTION / [pt] O IMAGINÁRIO DA LAPA: APOGEU, DECADÊNCIA E RECONSTRUÇÃO

ALESSA PATRICIA DIAS DA SILVA 15 June 2015 (has links)
[en] During the last years, the neighborhood of Lapa has been changing and becoming a very attractive area as an option for the nightlife in Rio de Janeiro. This cross-curricular essay intends to analyze how the resumption found in Lapa has been taking place, connecting it to the imaginarium built over the area. Such recovery has been strongly supported on the imaginarium set by the bohemian spirit of Lapa in the 20s and 30s. The imaginary will be approached in two different ways: the one built in the bohemian circle s crib, responsible for transforming Lapa into a myth, and the imaginarium built socially and politically, introduced by the owners of the power, who wanted its destruction and moralization – with the prostitution found in the neighborhood as the main striking spot – but responsible for legitimizing the area through an opposite influx movement. There will be used as analysis references texts wrote by people who witnessed the bohemian process through the streets of Lapa, such as the book of Chronicles Roteiro da Lapa… e outros roteiros, wrote by Alberto Deodato; Adeus Lapa, wrote by Hernani do Irajá; Noturno da Lapa and Lapa, wrote by Luís Martins and Lábios que Beijei, wrote Aguinaldo Silva.

[en] EASTERN MIRAGES: MYTHICAL MOORS IN THE BRAZILIAN NARRATIVE-PERFORMATIVE IMAGINARY / [pt] MIRAGENS DO ORIENTE: OS MOUROS MÍTICOS NO IMAGINÁRIO NARRATIVO-PERFORMÁTICO BRASILEIRO

BARBARA DE BRITO ANTUNES LITO DE ALMEIDA 16 May 2017 (has links)
[en] The aim of this piece is to study the construction of the Moor character, presenting it in all its plurality, made up of varied faces and stories. These characters share – among themselves and also with other mythical characters -, both clear similarities and decisive differences. In their hybrid constitution, they stand out as important figures in some traditional Brazilian celebrations collected in field research in the state of Maranhão (the Encantaria of the Lençóis Island and Cururupu) and in the state of Sergipe (the Chegança de Laranjeiras). Its participation in such festivities, as well as their ritual structure, was confronted with equivalent events observed in several regions of Spain (festivals of Moros y Cristianos of the Levant and Andalusia regions). Besides theses patterns, studied in their cyclic performative manifestations, the research examined narratives stemming from different enunciative sources on the theme. A parallel development between field and bibliographical research was carried out, the latter extending into the areas of popular culture, Arab studies, religion, philosophy, anthropology and history. The critical reading here carried out of the performances and narratives incorporated by this semantic-political operator had as main goal to open room for the discussion of other discourses, collective manifestations and contexts, each highlighted by their own characteristics, when correspondences and direct or indirect relations with the Moor characters may be discovered. Such an opening of an analytical-critical space contributes to shed light over aspects still not well known of Brazilian cultural activities, that have crossed seas and centuries and in their continuous transformations, renew themselves defining the meanings, the force and the values of our social order.

[en] THE BEGINNING IS THE END INSIDE OUT: THE TRANSPOSITION OF ORAL NARRATIVE TO THE INFANTILE DRAWING / [pt] O COMEÇO É O FIM PELO AVESSO: A TRANSPOSIÇÃO DA NARRATIVA ORAL PARA O DESENHO INFANTIL

JOSE SALMO DANSA DE ALENCAR 21 June 2004 (has links)
[en] This dissertation analyses the process of transposition of aged peoples oral narrative to childrens drawings, by an empirical work where we were able to analyse 453 drawings made by pupils from Rio de Janeiro schools.Inpired by the childhood stories of the aged collaborators, these drawings show narrative capacities, creative qualities and the memory of these stories. The intention is to understand time influences between the period listening to the stories and the transposed drawing. The interference of the teaching and learning process on the drawings, made in a school enviroment and, finally, the relation between the individual and the materials available for this transposition, taking into account the culture, the environment and the level of expertise.

[pt] COISAS DE MULHER: MATERIALIZAÇÃO E PERFORMANCES DO FEMININO NAS DRAG QUEENS / [en] GENDER IN DESIGN: THE MATERIALIZATION OF GENDER INDICATORS

17 May 2021 (has links)
[en] This research proposes a discussion about the materialization of gender stereotypes on the body and in the use of objects to construct a female figure. For this, we try to understand the performance of drag queens as a process of character conception that aims to represent the feminine. This representation occurs in gestures, body expression and temporary modifications in physical form, as well as in the use of objects, props and clothing typically marked by gender. We seek to understand how these stereotypes present themselves in the imaginary and in what way material culture gives shape to them. We work with the hypothesis that the attribution of meaning to the forms, materials and colors used in product design demonstrates its contribution to the (re) production of the gender differences with which the material culture works. The reproduction of stereotypes is not consciously idealized, but favors the maintenance of a system of differentiation based on ideals that have socio-cultural origins.

[pt] TEMPO, IMAGINÁRIO E MÚSICA ENTRE GREGOS E SERTANEJOS / [en] TIME, IMAGINARY AND MUSIC BETWEEN GRECS AND BACK COUTRIES

FABRICIO SCHLEE EYLER 11 November 2016 (has links)
[en] From Nicanor Teixeira s musical work (1928...) this study aims to develop the possible relations between music, time and imaginary, as well as the specificity of musical art within its very existence. As a man born and raised in Bahia s backcountry his compositions brings us as much possibilities of the feeling sense as of thinking, which reconfigure life. There are in these telluric elements that drive us, amongst others, to musical landscapes of mills, of women peeling manioc, of cowboy caravans, of love stories and sacred or profane parties. Although, there is also in Teixeira s work the elements which escape the experienced chronology and that come from immemorial times which cannot be dated. From these circumstances this work will investigate the path that might connect through music the backcountry to the ancient Greeks. In this case, the numinous experience is the mystery that guides to art. The suspension of time and reasoning reverberate sense and feelings which do not cease to tell us something, and which act directly upon human actions, both for good and bad. That is why the uniqueness of musical power is unceasingly narrated in our history.

[en] POSTERS OF BRAZILIAN CINEMA: IMAGE AND THE SOCIAL IMAGINARY / [pt] CARTAZES DO CINEMA BRASILEIRO: IMAGEM E IMAGINÁRIO SOCIAL

SIMONE ALBERTINO DA SILVA NUNEZ 24 October 2014 (has links)
[en] The study Posters of Brazilian Cinema: Image and the Social Imaginary reflects on the imagistic universe contained in the posters of Brazilian cinema, and attempts to identify recurrent (icons) or reference images that could have contributed to building the social imaginary about the country in national theater, seeking to identify the origins of Brazilian social identity, how the social imaginary was formed and if it could be represented by certain images from posters of brazilian cinema. The reflection is mainly developed from the relations between society and culture, the field of art and its production systems. Such relationships provide evidence of the fact that the representations are constructed through social history, from symbolic configurations that define its final form and from pre-established concepts – conventions – that promote ease of recognition for the observer , and gives the image producers some control over its use. The existence of visual culture highlights the cultural practices within society, while the cultural industry uses conventions to form a set of images that ends up defining the modern visual universe, making it possible to notice when an image tries to escape tthe established patern. The thesis of this research is set on a path that attempts to theoretically define what would constitute the Brazilian social identity in relation to the types of representation of the Brazilian people and the country; it encircles thoughts about the national cinema industry and their mechanisms of distribution and dissemination, which determine, among other factors, the design of posters and also the types of image representation; and finally, the social representations and images of movie posters belonging to brazilian national films. As part of a universe where representations are based on foreing imagery of films, Brazilian cinema is closed between a practice that seeks to mimic the international productions and its image patterns, or find elements of Brazilian culture to try to build an image of it own, reinforcing myths and reaffirming the national culture. Posters of Brazilian cinema finds itself in the same paradox: repeat graphic patterns consolidated by the international film industry and imposed by foreign distributors, or seek a chart pattern that can be considered national.
