L’oblique dans le monde grec : concept et imagerie / Oblique in greek world : concept and imagery

Girard, Thibault 23 January 2015 (has links)
Les Grecs ont cinq adjectifs pour signifier approximativement l’oblique : λοξός, πλάγιος, λέχριος, σκολιός et δόχμιος. / What could be more innate than the concepts of oblique, horizontal or vertical ? For us, modern, these three concepts are the basis of our whole system of thought, both mathematical and artistic. It would appear to be obvious that these principles are present in the Greek civilization, whose we claim the heirs. However that isn't so obvious in view of the texts that have survived. Homer didn’t know the concept of oblique - no words can translate it into the language of his time. And even later. The Greeks have five adjectives to mean approximately oblique : λοξός, πλάγιος, λέχριος, σκολιός and δόχμιος. Each discipline (cosmology, optic, geography, art, etc.) has its own way of looking at these five words, which cover partially our notion of oblique. Paradoxically, what the written language has not synthesized, can be found in many images. Even more surprising, the oblique in the image, which we consider as a sign of movement in our iconographic language, is found both here to signify the movement than the rest. Two monuments of Greek art call our attention to this new paradox : the frieze of the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and the Mourning Athena. In each of them the oblique ligne is present, and wears two distinct senses. These two forms of language, written and pictorial, bring a different perspective, furthermore complementary, on how the ancient Greeks apprehended (or not) the concept of oblique.

Respostas cardiovasculares associadas ao intervalo interséries de exercício resistido em mulheres hipertensas sob controle farmacológico / Cardiovascular responses associated with rest interval in the resistance exercise in hypertensive women treated pharmacological

Pereira, Gilene de Jesus 29 January 2016 (has links)
Resistance exercise (RE) is indicated as a complement to aerobic exercise program to control high blood pressure. However, it is known that during RE may occur peak pressure and increased risk of cardiovascular events in hypertensive individuals. It is known that the exercise intensity, exercise volume and muscle fatigue potentiate these effects. The effects of blood pressure control and the rest time between sets have not yet been investigated. The objective of this study was to verify, in hypertensive women undergoing resistance exercise, the effects of blood pressure control and the rest time between sets (30s, 60s and 90s) the responses of systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic (DBP), heart rate (HR) and double product (DP). The study included nineteen hypertensive women, mean age 58.5 ± 5.2 years and BMI 29.4 ± 4.9 kg / m2, were divided into groups: controlled (n=6), decompensated (n=8) and untreated (n=5). The subjects were submitted to the 1RM test in the leg extension and held three training sessions resistance (3x12 to 60% of 1RM knee extension). Each session was performed with different rest interval (30, 60 and 90 seconds). It used 2-way ANOVA for repeated measures with post test Tukey, establishing a significance level of p<0.05. In the control group, there was no significant difference between exercise and rest to PAD, FC and DP in any of the intervals (p>0.05), while SBP was higher than the rest, when the rest interval was 30 seconds (p=0,0204). In uncontrolled and untreated groups, there was an increase in all the variables, compared to the rest (p<0.05) independent of the rest interval. Pressure peaks reached during the exercise, in the controlled group (SBP: 171.3 ± 14 and DBP: 99.5 ± 11mmHg) were similar as compare to uncontrolled groups (216.1 ± 11 and DBP: 132.5 ± 16 mmHg) and untreated (216.8 ± 21 and DBP: 133.6 ± 13mmHg). Thus, if the hypertensive framework is not controlled, the cardiovascular stress significantly increases during the RE and the pharmacological control is shown to be effective in reducing the effort during the practice of RE. Therefore, the control condition of the hypertensive frame is more important than the rest interval for influencing the cardiovascular responses during the RE. Thus, we can suggest that effective control of the PA, through pharmacological treatment can reduce the risk of pressure peak during the practice of resistance exercise.

Ciclos de atividade/repouso e alimentação/jejum associados ao uso de equipamentos eletrônicos: aspectos comportamentais e padrões temporais / Not informed by the author

Tatiana Harumi Seito 27 January 2017 (has links)
After popularization of electric energy, electronic technologies have been created and incorporated to our routines. Access to electric light can promote more flexibility on temporal organization of our activities which allow for an extension of the wake phase to later portions of the night. Thus, that situation could promote temporal challenges to the organisms, generated by oscillations of temporal signals, which may cause phase advances or delays in rhythmic events like feeding/fasting, rest/activity and metabolic functions. This study involved 27 university students between 18 to 30 years old (17 women; 10 men) where feeding and sleep behavior data were collected with feeding and sleep diaries; the rest/activity rhythm and the light/dark cycle data were collected with actimeters. The association observed in relation to the use of the electronic equipments with the food intake is supported by the delay of the beginning of rest that propitiates the increase of the average intake in the nocturnal phase. In the long term, the delay of the rest phase and the decrease of its duration can generate a misalignment in the regulation of the expression of the temporal patterns of rest/activity and feeding/fasting and thus change the temporal pattern of the feeding behavior

Resource-oriented mobile agent and software framework for the Internet of Things

Leppänen, T. (Teemu) 13 March 2018 (has links)
Abstract The Internet of Things vision proposes a global platform in an unforeseen scale for distributed applications that rely on data provided by interconnected resource-constrained things. In such large-scale systems, centralized control of system operation by a single component through vertical interactions becomes unfeasible. Ideally, decentralized control in the proximity of things enables to take into account the local dynamic resource availability and environmental characteristics that are used to optimize the application execution. To realize decentralization, capabilities for horizontal interactions, that complement the vertical interactions, and for opportunistic participation of things are needed. This thesis explores mobile agent technology to implement distributed Internet of Things applications that benefit from both vertical and horizontal interactions of the application components. First, a resource-oriented reactive mobile agent architecture and a software framework are presented. The framework facilitates RESTful interactions between agents and other system components and provides a REST-based interface to build opportunistic agent-based applications. Two agent platforms are presented that integrate resource-constrained things into the framework as mobile agent hosts. Second, mobile agent based mobile crowdsensing and edge computing applications are evaluated with large-scale simulations and real-world experiments. The results show that energy consumption is decreased in the participating things, in comparison with the existing approaches, by agent-based in-network data processing and control of the thing operation. This thesis makes a valuable contribution by enabling mobile agent operations in a heterogeneous set of resource-constrained things. The presented empirical evidence shows how mobile agent technology increases energy efficiency in distributed application execution. The presented mobile agent architecture and software framework potentially accelerate the utilization of mobile agent technology in the Internet of Things. Ohjelmistokehyksen osana toteutettiin kaksi mobiiliagentti-ohjelmistoalustaa resurssirajoitteisille sulautetuille laitteille. Työssä tarkasteltiin mobiiliagentti-pohjaisten Esineiden Internet-sovellusten energiatehokkuutta simuloinneilla sekä tosielämän kokeilla. Tarkastelun kohteeksi valittiin joukkoistettu mobiilihavainnointi sekä reunalaskennan ulottaminen resurssirajoitteisiin laitteisiin. Saadut tulokset osoittavat, että laitteiden energiankulutusta voidaan pienentää verrattuna aiemmin esitettyihin ratkaisuihin hyödyntämällä mobiiliagentteja tiedonkäsittelyyn laitteessa sekä laitteen toiminnan ohjaamiseen. Työssä esitetty resurssisuuntautunut mobiiliagenttiarkkitehtuuri sekä ohjelmistokehys edesauttavat mobiiliagentti-teknologian hyödyntämistä resurssirajoitteisissa sulautetuissa laitteissa. Tosielämän kokeista saadut tulokset osoittavat mobiiliagenttiteknologian hyötyjä hajautettujen sovellusten toteuttamisessa Esineiden Internetiin.

Dark Side of Wonderland : en kort 2D-animation med syfte att väcka intresse för en online serietidning / Dark Side of Wonderland : a short 2D-animation as promotion for an online comic

Karlsson, Anna January 2005 (has links)
My objective for this project was to create a short but thrilling 2D-animation intended as promotion for an online comic book. The purpose of the project was to learn more about animation and graphics, to further my artistic skills and to learn how to work in Adobe After Effects. I also wanted to learn more about scheduling, project methods and how to handle stress. During the ten weeks of the project I have created the story, the storyboard, the character design, the backgrounds and the animation. The voice over was recorded with the help of a fellow student who also made the music and the sound effects. In all else I have worked on my own. During the work I have principally learned more about graphics and animation, both classic animation made on paper and digital animation. I have also gained more knowledge concerning technology as it is used in artistic processes, criticism and self criticism, personal development and learning, working alone as an opposite to working in a group, how to handle problems, setbacks and conflicts, time and planning, various ways of analyzing working processes and methods, the creative process and the balance between work and relaxation. I discuss and reflect on these and more phenomena in the end of this study. It has been a demanding but exciting journey. Föräldrainflytandets komplexitet : Sex föräldrars upplevelser av reellt föräldrainflytande vad gäller barns vila på förskolan / The complexity of parental influence : Six parents´ experiences of parental influence regarding children´s rest in preschool

Hansen, Cecilia, Johansson, Therese January 2021 (has links)
Parental influence is a complex concept and an important part of the preschool's value-based work and democracy mission. It is the parents who have the ultimate responsibility for the child and know their child best. A good collaboration between parents and the preschool that enables parental influence is therefore important in order to be able to create the best conditions for the child. The purpose of this study is therefore to investigate parents' experiences of parental influence in the preschool's activities with a specific focus on the childs rest. To get answers to the study's questions, questionnaires were collected from six parents with children aged one to three years who go to preschool. The concept of influence is problematised with the help of the influence ladder, which makes different levels of influence visible, all of which are important in order to be able to talk about a real parental influence. At first glance, the results indicate that the parents' views on their opportunities for influence are predominantly good. However, a closer examination of the parents' descriptions and examples reveals that there are limitations in the parental influence, which leads to the parents not being able to, or not using, their opportunities to exercise a real parental influence.

Architektonická studie kostela pro sídliště Líšeň-Vinohrady v Brně / The architectural study of the church for the estate Lisen-Vinohrady, Brno

Havlík, Jiří January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of sacral space of Brno-Líšeň, where there is a request to build a church as a part the Salesian Center. Part of the problematics was the construction of the Parish house and the Community house as a part of the church mentioned above. The plot is situated at the site of the southern slope between Horáková and Molákova Street and in close proximity of the Salesi center. The project is conceived as a progressively graduating spiral rising from the mass of the community house to the sculpture of the cross at the tower of the church. Visually both building are separated from the north side but are partially connected thanks to the underground floor from the south side. The building of the community center shall be a three-story building. The design of the church itself is based on the centralization of space and due to progressive gradation to the center of the building, where all the events associated with the Christian year take place. The complex serves both as a place where the widespread society can fulfill their spiritual needs as well as a sanctuary of the Salesian community, where they can fulfill their mission.
