En applikationsinfrastruktur för massutskick av e-post

Karlström, Anders January 2009 (has links)
In today's society it is becoming more and more important with direct marketing. Some of the direct marketing is done through e-mail, in which companies see an easy way to advertise himself. I did this thesis work at WebDoc Systems. They have a product that creates web documents directly in your browser, also called CMS. The CMS has a module for sending mass e-mail, but this module does not function properly and WebDoc Systems customers are dissatisfied with that part of the product. The problem with the module was that sometimes it didn't send the e-mail, and that it was not possible to obtain some form of follow-up information on the e-mail. The goal of this work was to develop a Web service that could easily send e-mail to many receivers, just as easily be able to view statistics on how mailing has gone. The first step was to do a literature review to get a good picture of available programming platforms, but also to be able create a good application infrastructure. The next step was to implement this design and improve it over time by using an iterative development methodology. The result was an application infrastructure that consists of three main parts and a plugin interface. The parts that were implemented were a Web service application, a Web application and a Windows service application. The three elements cooperate with each other and share a database, and plugins.

The Zero Energy Evolution

Brown, Caitlin C. 17 December 2014 (has links)
Sustainable Built Environments Senior Capstone Project / This study is an analysis and definition of green building design and zero energy building. This distinguishes the different components that go into net zero building, and the feasibility of making it happen on current buildings, as well as ones in design. The study identifies a building currently in construction on the University of Arizona campus, and identifies its possibility of zero energy and how zero energy would affect the cost and performance of the building. Ultimately it is found that net zero is feasible for the Environmental Natural Resources Building 2 and the University of Arizona, and should be a component in the design and building process of future buildings on campus.

______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / This MSc. Thesis presents two study cases related to the architectures of implementation of geographical information systems (GIS) in web environment that ended in the development of a framework composed by a set of components supporting the preparation of new web GIS software packages. The first study was conducted focused on the interoperability of map services in the web, mainly covering the functions of consultation and release of data at varying formats. In order to enable exchange and integration of spatial information, it was necessary to develop components based on proprietary technologies like ESRI Flex API. After understanding the limitations that a central engine of closed source code could bring to the main object of study, that is, the development of an architecture for the exchange of geographic information, we came out with the idea of building a set of software that would circumvent such difficulties. The second study was conducted focusing on the preparation of a free framework for development of GIS in an environment of Rich Internet Application (RIA) and Web 2.0 concepts. The purpose here was to enable indexing and visualization of data from different types of media (photos, videos, documents) that were adherent not only to the standards of the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), but also to other data formats. The latter study also sought to reduce the complexity and costs of implementation of such projects and to facilitate customization by end users. This set of developed softwares and its architecture was named XGIS Flex Framework.

Population Structure and Genetic Diversity of the North Atlantic Right Whale (Eubalena Glacialis)

Malik, Sobia 12 1900 (has links)
The North Atlantic right whale (Eubalaena glacialis) is the most endangered species of large whale in the world (IUCN). Efforts for the recovery of this species were initiated almost 20 years ago, yet the North Atlantic right whale shows little signs of recovery. Reliance on particular habitat areas and the effect of factors such as ship collisions, net entanglement and habitat disturbances are hampering the recovery of this species. Therefore, it is important to assess the level of genetic diversity left in this population and to identify and assess all habitat areas for potentially lethal threats. This study has identified a subset of the reproductive females that do not use the Bay of Fundy as a nursery area, through the genetic structuring of mtDNA control region haplotypes. Genetic structuring of the control region haplotypes was established and maintained by site fidelity of reproductive females to specific nursery areas. These results have identified a list of reproductive females that will be the targets of satellite tagging to elucidate the location of the alternative nursery area(s) to the Bay of Fundy. Analysis of mtDNA control region haplotypes in North and South Atlantic right whale has identified five haplotypes in the 180 North Atlantic right whales analyzed compared to 10 haplotypes in the 16 South Atlantic right whales analyzed. The low level ofhaplotypic variability in the North Atlantic right whale is a direct consequence of the extensive whaling period endured by this species. The genetic divergence between the North and South Atlantic right whales was estimated to have occurred 3.0-9.0 mya. This is similar to the genetic divergence of 2.0-5.3 mya found between the two clades identified in the South Atlantic samples. / Thesis / Master of Science (MSc)

TOWARDS NET CENTRIC ORGANIZATIONS

Shivaram, Shyam Sunder 01 May 2010 (has links)
It is Important in today's world to have organizations doing business effectively in a collaborative manner , though in the past there has been major development in the process of identifying the best ways to network organizations in a effective manner , there has not been much potential efforts on net centric working of the organizations. , Network-centric model is a hybrid of the individual determination and participation typical of direct and grassroots models with the efficiencies and strengths of the organizational model. This thesis primarily deals with the ways to effectively change the traditional way of organizational working into the net centric approach, there have been identified a few key parameters that when adapted by the traditional organization, it can be progressed towards the net centric way of working .

Modeling and Simulation of Lane Keeping Support System Using Hybrid Petri Nets

Padilla, Carmela Angeline C. 08 1900 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / In the past decades, the rapid innovation of technology has greatly affected the automotive industry. However, every innovation has always been paired with safety risks that needs to be quickly addressed. This is where Petri nets (PNs) have come into the picture and have been used to model complex systems for different purposes, such as production management, traffic flow estimation and the introduction of new car features collectively known as, Adaptive Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Since most of these systems include both discrete and continuous dynamics, the Hybrid Petri net (HPN) model is an essential tool to model these. The objective of this thesis is to develop, analyze and simulate a lane keeping support system using an HPN model. Chapter 1 includes a brief summary of the specific ADAS used, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist systems and then related work on PNs is mentioned. Chapter 2 provides a background on Petri nets. In chapter 3, we develop a discrete PN model first, then we integrate continuous dynamics to extend it to a HPN model that combines the functionalities of the two independent ADAS systems. Several scenarios are introduced to explain the expected model behavior. Chapter 4 presents the analysis and simulation results obtained on the final model. Chapter 5 provides a summary for the work done and discusses future work.
