Bins, Katiuscha Lara Genro January 2013 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 000451410-Texto+Completo-0.pdf: 1429962 bytes, checksum: 50c97c1ef452be5d63cdba9bb1576ca7 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2013 / Every human being is a collection of their biological and social context and so unique. I think that human diversity is still a little respected in educational environment especially when the characteristic of the difference is of the deficiency. The school is not yet prepared to work with the differences. Keeps on seeking and demanding homogenizations such as the students as learning. The EJA, even as a teaching modality of education that has basic inclusive assumptions, still can not work with and from the differences. In this educational universe are included adults with intellectual disabilities. The Adults with intellectual disabilities are attending adult education, but, in most cases, are not able to handle the contents and requirements that the traditional teaching still requires and demands. Many times these students stay in school for years, the same level of education, without improving. This way, their presence in the EJA is a challenge for teachers who need to respond to their demands and ensure a quality education. I believe that it is necessary to (re) congnize their knowledge and their potentialities, get to know how their learning work and hence its development within the school environment. While noticing some changes have already occurred, such as the right of access to regular educational system, it is necessary to go further and also ensure them the right to educational opportunities and concrete practical learning. I take this research a learning perspective throughout life, education as a right for all human beings, being these the principles that move me and that impel me to reflect and discuss about intellectually disabled adults included in EJA. Having thus main focus the person with intellectual disabilities included in EJA, I structured aspects to be studied and analyzed: his adulthood, because they are still seen and treated as "eternal children" and we must recognize them as adults; inclusion because ponder that they were included, more for law demandings than by beliefs and attitudes really inclusive; and learning, in order to (re) congnize who is the adult learner with intellectual disabilities, their organic deficits, cognitive and social, and especially what are their potentialities, respecting and using them in the teaching-learning strategies, because only then can be possible to think about strategies and opportunities for learning and comprehensive training. I conclude with the adequacy and inadequacy of education for youth and adults for people with intellectual disabilities, weaving a web of considerations about positive and negative aspects. By approaching them I intend to raise discussions and point out elements that I evaluate, need to be rethought, others who need to leave the theoretical universe and become practical realities, possible to be done. The research was conducted in a municipal school of Youth and Adult Education in Porto Alegre. I searched through the data obtained by observation, document analysis and semi-structured interviews, to describe the youth and adults reality of the education of with intellectual disabilities included in the EJA. The assumptions that guided this research are qualitative.

Petró, Vanessa January 2009 (has links)

The discussion takes place from the dimensions of the concept of citizenship developed by Marshall (1967) and the role that education has in the access of citizenship and emancipation. From Marshall’s concept of citizenship we discuss the matter having in mind the Brazilian reality, in wich people who are illiterate remain in a sub-citizenship condition (SOUZA, 2003). We seek to identify how policies regarding this area are capable of interfering in the access of citizenship for those who are involved, building a new way of social insertion or – alternatively – acting in a way of developing mechanisms that grant invisibility to inequities and sub-citizens conditions. This research focuses on the program named Programa Brasil Alfabetizado, more specifically in two convenes: one with the government of the city of Porto Alegre and the other with a workers organization called Central Única dos Trabalhadores. The investigation can be splitted in two different moments. First, we studied how the social policy is organized, focusing in its implementation and investigating its goals. After that, we articulated the first part of the research with the vision that those who were being alphabetized by these programs had, analyzing their histories of life, their personal goals and how participating in those programs affected their lifes. From that, it is possible to visualize how different a social policy becomes when executed by different institutions. We identified that participation in social policies for this area is connected to a will of social recognization and identity rebuilding. Regarding to emancipation, actions still face many challenges, for even if there are changes in citizenship conditions, they don’t assure emancipation in a sense of recreating reality, searching alternatives to the situation in wich they find themselves.

Silva, Raquel Duro da January 2009 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 000430705-Texto+Completo-0.pdf: 332159 bytes, checksum: 36fdd7b9124d0c436d3ef27ea5821193 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009 / This study was based at one of the Porto Alegre’s public schools during the implied period of the years 2007 and 2008. Its bases is in the seeking for a response to the following problem: How do the teachers, experts and EJA (Young and Adults Education in Portuguese) students, wich are the responsible for the lingering stay os the students on the Initial Totality, conceive the education and notice the influential factors in the written language acquirement? And What kind of activities do the education professionals perform in class to minimize these problems? In order to obtain answers to this questioning it was chose the qualitative search methodology supported by a constructivist paradigm and the presupposition that guide and define this case study. The main questions of this study turn to understand how the pedagogic coordinators notice the influential factors of the lingering stay of these students at EJA; how the students describe their learning difficulties that stop the from advancing to the next Totality; what king of measures haw been carried out by the pedagogic coordinatior to mediate the learning of these students; what kind of methodologies are developed by the teachers and pedagogic coordinators to appease their advancing. The data were collected by semi-structured interviews and notes from the research diary. These were carried out with the expert, educators and students from the institution. From analyzes of interviews and notes contentes, it emerged the following categories: Life Experience and Education; Interpersonal Relations and Learning. These categories are detailed in analyzes, wich has Piaget and Vygostski as theorist support when referring to learning processes, the Ferreiro and Teberoski’s theorist propositions when referring to the written language acquirement and Soares’ when regarding to writing system. It was also used other authors which sanction important matters analyzes of the categories, such as: Smith and Strick, Paín, Pozzo, Vasconcelos and Freire. The last one was used as base to the EJA understanding, is apprentices and educators. The results make it clear that, it’s necessary a bigger participation of the managers to the developing and monitoring of educators and students, the rescue and resignification of the academic knowledge, as well as the self esteem and the methodology when working with adults, be it due to the lack of knowledge or due to a creed that the learning occurs identically among the individuals, apart of their age or life story. The set of knowledge acquired still are not much understood and studied by the people involved in the process and due to that, the students are taking responsibility for the exclusion of writing world as a synonym of failure or personal impossibility.

I go deeper into aspects of the process of teaching young and adults with mental dementia how to write and read, as it happens, in what way those children learn, what importance there is in reading and writing in the lives of those subjects. I approach the aspects that teaching young and adults with mental dementia how to write and read contribute to a bigger inclusion of this people in the society; in a way that the young and the adult with mental dementia notices and notices himself in the reading and writing world. This way this present research proposes to have a triangulation between teaching how to read and write the young and adults education and the adult with mental dementia. In the elaborated theorical reference I approach and point conceptions and theorical principle about teaching how to write and read, young and adults education and the mental dementia adult taking to account the new emergent cultural changing, for beyond the traditional educational conception. The empiric data were collected with nine young and adults with mental dementia, included in county school in Porto Alegre/RS. The research propose to have a reflection and problematization around three thematic, even though they are part of our daly educational life, they haven’t been articulated and laced in the perspective that this research tried to indicate, to stablish relation with the teaching how to write and read, young and adult education and mental dementia adult, in the modality of teaching of EJA, from the view of the investigated subjects, who gave the to this research the tune of their own lives experiences and expectations, which helped that the analysis stayed on practical theorical target that was built in the group universe of the researcher and the researcher subjects. Calls attention too, the mental dementia adults be watched under other perspectives for a real and effective social inclusion.

Schwartz, Suzana January 2006 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2013-08-07T18:49:56Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 000389066-Texto+Completo-0.pdf: 2202143 bytes, checksum: 11c6587cf6cd4b0290da39612197e742 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006 / The paradigmatic orientation of the conceptions of motivation that permeates the teaching action guide lines in the youths and adults alphabetization, who have participated in this research, was analyzed critically in order to this research investigates the contextual and personal facts inherent to teaching and learning motivation that intermixes the teaching action guide lines of the alphabetizer teacher of youths and adults. It also identifies contradictions and mediations, which suggest pedagogic strategies and possibilities to the formation of these teachers. Utilizing as a reference the seven principles of the organization of knowledge (MORIN, 2000, 2001) to analyze and interpret the reality, this research was developed according to qualitative/descriptive/interpretative/explicative/comprehensive approach. The information of reality was collected through filming in five different educational spaces, three classes of each teacher. Serving as a base of this analysis, an instrument was elaborated: Alphabetization, Motivation and Teaching Action Guide Lines (ALONSO TAPIA, SCHWARTZ 2005). This instrument was based on the theoretical foundation constructed about how to teach/learn youths and adults to read and to write, and about motivation, about specific, contextual, and personal factors inherent to the alphabetizer pedagogic practice with determining potential to the construction of the motivation atmosphere, which propitious to teach and learn. The analyses and investigation of the study results were based on theoretical references of Alonso Tapia, Covington, Huertas, Ferreiro, Freire, Morin, et. al. It is possible to notice that the paradigmatic orientation of the motivation conceptions that permeates the teaching action guide lines in the youths and adults alphabetization is in a simple perspective. The teachers who were investigated by this study give priority, in the planning of his/her teaching actions guide lines, to what activity realize (what to do) in the detriment of “who for”, “what for”, “why”, and “how”. They give priority to the teaching and learning of the alphabetical code and the questions related to the “correct” handwriting instead of the conceptual questions related to the alphabetization as a representation of the language, its uses, its functioning structures, which causes the logical of the contents, not the logical of learning. Besides, contradictorily, some teachers think that it is necessary to give a chance to the world reading in their classrooms, but without articulating it to the word reading. These teachers do not evidence preoccupation about how to initiate their classes in a different way, which would propitiate an awaking and a curiosity also interest maintenance and the rescue of the previous knowledge of his/her student. They do not develop strategies of explanation to valorize the individuals’ presence in the classes, neither giving a potential the integration between the students, in order to evidence the teaching and learning conception based on the Paradigm of Simplicity, perceiving teaching as a furnishing of ready answers without emphasizing the (re)construction of reflexive critic thinking about the different uses and functions of the writing language. These attitudes and others evidence the teaching actions guide lines, the contextual and personal factions that contribute to a motivational atmosphere propitious to teach and learn the reading and writing. In the teachers formation courses, there is a perception of that it does not seem to be enough to give a chance of reflections/constructions/learning exactly about the object of knowledge that they teach/learn, mainly about the different ways of procedure or about general conceptions related to the school, the education, the teaching, the learning, the individual, and the society. These are important questions that need to be approached, but besides them, it is necessary that the critical reflection “cultivated” attitudes must be (re)reconstructed, mainly about teaching actions guide lines, before, during, and after the actions. These attitudes must be valorized, systemized, reformulated when it will be necessary, and being perceived as indispensable to the teaching and learning processes. The teacher needs to (re)construct, interpret, translate the construct scientific knowledge, especially how to teach, how to learn reading and writing comprehensively. The teacher also needs to construct a subjective feeling that is in the intersection of the indignation and the actual reality of the youths and adults education and the hope of being able to contribute to a modification of this scenery. It is perceived as possible and necessary for the ones who learn how to read and write comprehensively. Moreover, enjoying the different uses and functions of reading and writing, allowing as teacher as students to think critically about the reality, leading qualitative changes in the student’s life, when it was demanded.
