Toepassing van essensiestruktuur-analise as evalueringsmaatstaf vir outentieke opvoeding / The application of essence-structure-analysis as a criterion for the evaluation of authentic education

Jordaan, J. H. (Johannes Hendrik) 11 1900 (has links)
An effort was made to find a universally valid criterion to evaluate any education for authenticity. The "essence-structure of proper adulthood and of education-aim" (ES) was investigated in this regard. This essence-structure (ES) was condensed in a model diagram (ESM). It includes the fo 11 owing essences: · re 1 i gi ousness · , the · ethi ca 1 ' , · affec tiveness'. 'bodiliness'. 'nationality' ('culturality'. 'historicity' and the 'political'), the 'aesthetical'. 'individuality', 'sociality·. the 'economical'. 'freedom·. 'authority'. 'language' and 'rationality'. as well as the seven norm images - a substructure of the 'ethical'. Hierarchically 'religiousness· is the most important essence. followed by the 'ethical·. All other essences exist on a third 1 eve 1 of importance. To qualify as authentic an exemplar of education ought to comply with the above-mentioned hierarchy. Each of the essences and their interrelatedness within the ESM were discussed. The harmonious co-existence within this structuredness is of paramount importance in understanding educational authenticity. Emanating from the above-mentioned an evaluation method. known as "essence structure-analysis" (ES analysis). was developed. Micro. meso and macro-ESanalysis were also explained. Descriptions of exemplars of education and of educationally related matters are analysed using the ESM as the criterion. The more an exemplar corresponds with the ESM. the more it re sembles authenticity, and vice versa. To demonstrate the application potential of ES analysis C.K. Oberholzer's view of man. J.C. Coetzee's view on childhood. the Christian life-view. Albert Schweitzer's world-view and the educational doctrine of the Classicism were subjected toES analyses. The Christian life-view could be evaluated as authentic. while Oberholzer's view of man. Coetzee's view on childhood and Schweitzer's world-view are resembling authenticity closely. The educational doctrine of the Classicism revealed several essence discre pancies. (viii) The hypothesis. that ES analysis can be a reliable evaluation criterion for authentic education. was confirmed. It could thus be recommended that ESanalysis be implemented over a broad spectrum. for example when studying historico-educational exemplars. doctrines of religion. school systems and curricula and assisting in developing educational programs. The contemporary education and way of life can be ameliorated in the future if ES analysis is applied actively. / Educational Studies / D.Ed. (Philosophy of Education)

Andersson, Erika, Norman, Amanda January 2016 (has links)
This study will show different interactions that a user needs to adjust in order to find and create trust within a guild in the game World of Warcraft. The aim of this study is to see if these interactions are used in different ways depending on which guild a user is a member in. The study is based on three different guilds and a few WoW-users perspectives, experiences and thoughts. The main methods in this study is based on qualitative methods that includes surveys, scenarios, observation and semi-structured interviews. The analysis has been based on two theories, social capital theory and the flow theory. This study has also examined how the design and features of WoW can affect a user's interactions, both in and outside the game.

Computational Studies on Interstellar Molecular Species : From Formation to Detection

Etim, Emmanuel Edet January 2016 (has links) (PDF)
Initiated with the purpose of assigning the Fraunhofer lines in the solar spectrum to atomic transitions in the 18th century, the collaboration between spectroscopists and astrophysicists has remained fruitful, successful and ever fascinating. This collaboration has resulted in the unique detection of over 200 different molecular species in the interstellar medium (ISM). These interstellar molecular species play significant roles in diverse fields such as atmospheric chemistry, astrochemistry, prebiotic chemistry, astrophysics, astronomy, astrobiology, etc, and in our understanding of the solar system ''the world around us''. This Thesis work focuses on understanding of the different aspects of the chemistry of the various classes of these molecular species. Chapter one starts with an historical perspective of what is now regarded as Molecular Astrophysics or Astrochemistry and discusses the interstellar medium and its properties; interstellar molecular species and their importance; molecular spectroscopy as an indispensible tool in interstellar chemistry and the different formation routes of these molecular species. It also discusses hydrogen bonding which is one of the most important of all the intermolecular interactions. The chapter ends by setting the stage for the present investigations. The chapter two of the Thesis saddled with the task of describing the methodology employed in this Thesis begins by setting the stage on the importance of computational chemistry in interstellar chemistry. It discusses the Gaussian 09 suite of programs and the various theoretical methods used in all the quantum chemical calculations reported in this Thesis. The chapter ends with a brief summary on the homebuilt Pulsed Nozzle Fourier Transform Microwave (PN-FTMW) spectrometer used for the preliminary studies on Isoprene...Argon weakly bound complex reported in the appendix. After the introductory chapters, chapter three begins with what is unarguably one of the most important classes of interstellar molecular species - 'interstellar isomers'. In this chapter, the Energy, Stability and Abundance (ESA) relationship existing among interstellar molecular species has been firmly established using accurate thermochemical parameters obtained with the composite models and reported observational data. From the relationship, “Interstellar abundances of related species are directly proportional to their stabilities in the absence of the effect of interstellar hydrogen bonding”. The immediate consequences of the relationship in addressing some of the questions in interstellar chemistry such as: Where are Cyclic Interstellar Molecules? What are the possible candidates for astronomical observation? Why are more Interstellar Cyanides than isocyanides? among others are briefly discussed. Following the ESA relationship, other studies addressing some of the whys and wherefores in interstellar chemistry are discussed in details. From ESA relationship, though there has not been any successful astronomical observation of any heterocycle, the ones so far searched remain the best candidates for astronomical observation in their respective isomeric groups. The observation of the first branched chain molecule in ISM is in agreement with the ESA relationship and the C5H9N isomers have been shown to contain potential branched chain interstellar molecules. That molecules with the C-C-O backbone have less potential of formation in ISM as compared to their counterparts with the C-O-C backbone has been demonstrated not to be true following the ESA relationship. A detailed investigation on the relationship between molecular partition function and astronomical detection of isomeric species (or related molecules) shows that there is no direct correlation between the two rather there is a direct link between the thermodynamic stability of the isomeric species (or related molecules) and their interstellar abundances which influences the astronomical observation of some isomers at the expense of others. Chapter four presents an interesting and a fascinating phenomenon among the interstellar molecular species as it discusses for the first time, the existence and effects of Interstellar Hydrogen Bonding. This interstellar hydrogen bonding is shown to be responsible for the deviations from thermodynamically controlled processes, delayed observation of the most stable isomers, unsuccessful observations of amino acids among other happenings in interstellar chemistry and related areas. On the prediction that ketenes are the right candidates for astronomical searches among their respective isomers, a ketenyl radical; HCCO has recently been detected in line with this prediction. The deviation from the rule that the ratio of an interstellar sulphur molecule to its oxygen analogue is close to the cosmic S/O ratio is well accounted for on the basis of hydrogen bonding on the surface of the dust grains. Detecting weakly bound complexes in ISM has not been a major interest in the field so far but the detectability of weakly bound complexes in ISM is very possible as discussed in this chapter. Following the conditions in which these complexes are observed in the terrestrial laboratory as compared to the ISM conditions; it suffices to say that weakly bound complexes are present and are detectable in ISM. They could even account for some of the 'U' lines. Chapter five of the Thesis discusses the Linear Interstellar Carbon Chains which are the dominant theme in interstellar chemistry accounting for over 20% of all the known interstellar and circumstellar molecular species. Accurate spectroscopic parameters within experimental accuracy of few kHz which are the indispensable tools for the astronomical observation of these molecular species; are obtained for over 200 different species from the various chains using an inexpensive combined experimental and theoretical approach. With the availability of the spectroscopic parameters; thermodynamics is utilized in accounting for the known systems and in examining the right candidates for astronomical searches. These molecular species are shown to also obey the ESA relationship observed for the isomeric species discussed in chapter three of this work. The effect of kinetics on the formation processes of these molecular species is well controlled by thermodynamics as discussed in this chapter. Finally, the application of these studies in reducing the 'U' lines and probing new molecular species has been briefly summarized. Chapter six discusses Interstellar Ions and Isotopologues which are two unique classes of interstellar molecular species. Different studies on interstellar ions and isotopologues are presented. From the studies on interstellar protonated species with over 100 molecular species; protonated species resulting from a high proton affinity prefers to remain protonated rather than transferring a proton and returning to its neutral form as compared to its analogue that gives rise to a lower proton affinity from the same neutral species. The studies on detectable interstellar anions account for the known interstellar anions and predict members of the C2nO-, C2nS-, C2n-1Si-, HC2nN-, CnP-, and C2n chains as outstanding candidates for astronomical observation including the higher members of the C2nH- and C2n-1N- groups whose lower members have been observed. From high level ab initio quantum chemical calculations; ZPE and Boltzmann factor have been used to explain the observed deuterium enhancement and the possibility of detecting more deuterated species in ISM. Though all the heterocycles that have so far been searched for in ISM have been shown to be the right candidates for astronomical observation as discussed in the ESA relationship, they have also been shown to be strongly bonded to the surface of the interstellar dust grains thereby reducing their abundances, thus, contributing to their unsuccessful detection except for furan which is less affected by hydrogen bonding. The D-analogues of the heterocycles are shown from the computed Boltzmann factor to be formed under the dense molecular cloud conditions where major deuterium fractionation dominates implying very high D/H ratio above the cosmic D/H ratio which suggests the detectability of these deuterated species. Chapter seven examines the isomerization of the most stable isomer (which is probably the most abundant) to the less stable isomer(s) as one of the plausible formation routes for interstellar molecular species. An extensive investigation on the isomerization enthalpies of 243 molecular species from 64 isomeric groups is reported. From the results, the high abundances of the most stable isomers coupled with the energy sources in interstellar medium drive the isomerization process even for relative enthalpy difference as high as 67.4 kcal/mol. Specifically, the cyanides and their corresponding isocyanides pairs appear to be effectively synthesized via this process. The following potential interstellar molecules; CNC, NCCP, c-C5H, methylene ketene, methyl Ketene, CH3SCH3, C5O, 1,1-ethanediol, propanoic acid, propan-2-ol and propanol are identified and discussed. In all the isomeric groups, isomerization appears to be an effective route for the formation of the less stable isomers (which are probably less abundant) from the most stable ones. Chapter eight summarizes the conclusions drawn from the different studies presented in this Thesis and also highlights some of the future directions of these studies. The first appendix presents the preliminary study on Isoprene...Ar weakly bound complex while the second appendix contains a study on interstellar C3S describing the importance of accurate dipole moment in calculating interstellar abundances of molecular species and in astrophysical and astronomical models.

L'effectivité de la Convention UNESCO 2005 sur la diversité des expressions culturelles / Effectivity of the UNESCO Convention 2005 on the diversity of culturals expressions

Kwahou, Charly 31 May 2013 (has links)
The UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressionsadopted in Paris on 20 October 2005 and entered into force on 17 March 2007. The interest of thisConvention is essentially cultural. Protection of goods and services, or cultural activities, summarizesthe key challenges. Its objective is to contain the effects of the principle of trade liberalization oncultural diversity. The value of cultural diversity is undeniable because it relates to human identity.Cultural diversity is the subject of constant recognition in the international legal landscape. Many textsdevoted national and international rights directly or indirectly culture as an inherent value to humans. It is therefore seen as a right or a fundamental aspect of human rights. Thus, goods or services andcultural activities, are a dual commercial and cultural should, given the specificity to be specialprotection. The mission of protection is now provided by the UNESCO Convention 2005.Determining its effectiveness is the central concern of this thesis. Its main focus, the contribution tocapacity building of the present Convention to meet its challenges. Incidentally, it contributes to thepopularization of a new international law to protect and promote the diversity of cultural expressions.UNESCO 2005 Convention is in all his early phase of implementation. It is therefore premature, giventhe youth of this new Convention, entitled to determine its effectiveness on the basis of a laudatoryreview of practical application. However, the increasing frequency of the application process seemsreassuring. It presages the trend towards an international legal instrument effective and efficientprotection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions.

Résilience culturelle et discussion à visée philosophique : Étude suivie de sept élèves en lycée professionnel / Cultural resiliency and discussion with philosophic aim : ongoing study of seven students in vocational high school

Henrion-Latché, Johanna 10 November 2016 (has links)
In the spite of the complexity of the search for ground on the works concerning the resiliency and particularly resiliency in school context, we were interested in the modalities and in the demonstrations of this one in establishments of the secondary sector in France, in the sensitive said building’s high schools. Seat of educational and social tensions, the relations between the actors are printed mistrust and translate social and psychosocial difficulties complicating the answer to the missions of teaching and educational, and tarnishing the image of the teenagers and the diplomas. Although the origin and the factors of dysfunction of the teenagers take root initially in problems exceeding the school, their coverage and their mediation are a matter of the education, to prepare the school’s exit and the entrance alive active and social. The appeal to the diagnosis and the solutions are registered within today institutionalized hours the objectives of which concern the development of the pupil. But when the contact got rid for years of previous academic failure, when the not sense settled down in spite of the orientation, when the behavior challenges the authority and when the early school leaving displays as a constant in progress in these establishments, how to think of an educational practice which can revive the bases of the reliable interactions between teenagers and teacher, while guaranteeing a frame of good volume in the unsettled affects by creating interactions which allow the pupil to work and to mediatize the past, to register it in a meaningful present by throwing it in the future in a harmonious way? If this educational practice allows the teacher and the educator to define his share, it’s also an educational contingency registered in the theories of the resiliency which is the faculty to bounce further to a trauma. In this optics to thwart the academic failure, to allow the creation of positive fates, off-camera of the reproduction of the failure, by being supported on the theories of the resiliency at the school, it’s possible to envisage an educational practice of coverage of the group classy of teenagers which implements these interactions between pupils and teacher according to a praxis of resiliency. And if this resiliency joins a cultural collective practice, leaning on the works of a culture and passed on by this one, it’s named cultural resiliency. Except field of therapeutics or of the psychology of group, the cultural resiliency answers the cognitive imperative to join a dialogical practice reassuring and demanding for pupils prevented from thinking, to fill the gaps and the defects of inner and previous languages. The practices of discussion with philosophic aim demonstrate that’s possible to create these spaces of mediation around the rigorous thought to develop various capacities to think guaranteeing the performance of a speech exempt from ease and from excuses. If this discussion is supported by a cultural supports of the literature, as the tales or the myths, then, a double mediation at the pupil is possible, since the isolated and silent mediation in connection with the theories of the tae towards the orals mediations which will follow the reading according to logic of philosophic questionings. If the choice of the support is ad hoc according to the recommendations of Lipman and what the tales speaks about resiliency then, it’s possible to lead discussions with philosophic aim in a praxis of driving process of cultural resiliency, which will be realized through the evolutions of the speeches of the high school students. This search for comprehensive type leans on the analysis of the speeches and the interactions in a pragmatic prospect which allows the highlit of contents registered within the framework of the cultural resiliency through factors of implementation of the process which are the link, the sense and the law. The experiment of signing of eighteen sessions of discussions [...]

Význam taneční a pohybové výchovy ve vzdělávání dětí mladšího školního věku The importance of dance and movement in the education of children in middle school age / The importance of dance and movement in the education of children in middle school age

Neuhöferová, Eva January 2021 (has links)
This master's thesis is based on the specifics of physiological development in middle childhood and searches for the pupil's natural behaviour at this stage. It begs the question as to why movement is so important for the human being and what role locomotion plays in having good postural habits. It highlights the magnitude of movement for child development and shows that physical activity is an inseparable part of our lives. The third chapter is about dance which is perceived as one of the oldest forms of human art. I look for displays of dance in everyday life and describe the particularities of expression in dance in middle childhood. Finally, I highlight the benefits and its educational dimension, values, and use. The following chapter talks about dance and movement education as a supplementary education field and its implementation in the FEP. The practical part describes an application of five dance lessons. These lessons were taught by a pedagogue who had no previous experience with teaching dance and movement activities. The main reason for this decision was that, in the future, a pedagogue could teach the lessons regardless of their past practice with dance and movement education. The three key observed factors are described below. Firstly, from the pedagogical point of view, I reflect the...

Návrh modelu úspěšného manažera / Suggestion of a Model of a Successful Manager

Kovářová, Petra January 2009 (has links)
As a theme for my diploma thesis I chose „Suggestion of a Model of a successful Manager" for company Unicorn Inc. This model can be used by Unicorn´s owner not only for existing employees but also for hiring new managers and for opening new branches as well. Thanks to my model he will be able to compare existing soft skills of managers who are already on board and he will also know which characteristics, knowledge, experience and processes he should focus on when selecting candidates for managerial positions and posts. The research results, that will be carried out on employed managers, will show which soft skills are neccessary to be focused on when internal empoloyee trainings are carried out. Consequently I will suggest steps that will increase managers´ efficiency which will lead to an increase of efficiency in the whole company.

Komparační analýza uplatňování zákona o veřejných zakázkách autoritami státní správy a samosprávy / Comparative analysis of applying the public procurement law by authorities of state administrative and self-government

Rýcová, Markéta January 2016 (has links)
(angl.) This thesis discusses the public procurement law. The thesis is a case study. The author follows up on how the law is being used with public procurement at chosen institutions of the state administrative and self-government. The first part of the thesis deals with the explication of the term public procurement and other related terms. The explanation of the term public procurement as the tool of public policy serves as an acquisition. Furthermore, the thesis covers theoretical concepts, which enter the process of public procurement. Through the process of analysis, the analysis of documents and comparative analysis, the author determines whether the law is sufficient for the acts the people working in public procurement have to carry out. The results of the analysis indicate that there are stages of public procurement in which there is a need of creating a methodical material regarding procedures.
