The goal of this thesis is to determine and analyze trade relations between the Czech Republic and Colombia and to identify concrete business opportunities among them. the sub goals include the comparison of macroeconomic, political and socioeconomic indicators, analysis of the trade flows of goods, to identify the top 10 products and to determine the competitive advantage of both countries by using Porter's model of national competitive advantage. Finally several business opportunities are identified and each of them is described in more detail. The used methods are description, analysis and comparison of data from the Trademap webpage, World Bank and official records and reports from both countries trade ministries.

Competitiveness of Australian small to medium enterprises in Indonesia

The purpose of this research is to determine whether Indonesian business practices and culture inhibit the competitiveness of Australian small to medium enterprises in Indonesia. Prior to the current economic demise of the Indonesian economy, Australia's trade relations with its closest Asian neighbour were not as significant as trade with countries far removed from Australia's shores. Previous research has identified that cultural problems and inadequate communication contribute towards the lack of competitiveness of international small to medium enterprises.However there has been no rigorous and comprehensive research specially related to Australian entrepreneurs and the problems they encounter in Indonesia.Several key themes emerged from this study which indicated that thorough planning and market research are more important than a comprehensive understanding of business practices and culture. What the research brings to extant literature is a rigorous and methodological analysis of Indonesian business practices from an Australian entrepreneur's perspective. This provides a structured link between the parent disciple of cross cultural communications, the plethora of information on Asian business practices, and the reality of Australian small to medium enterprises attempting to enter the Indonesian market / Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Management of veld fires by newly settled farmers and related small-scale business opportunities

Published Article / The central regions of South Africa experienced an abnormally high precipitation during the first quarter of 2009, thus resulting in an unusually high probability of veld fires due to the excessive amounts of fuel / grass available. In South Africa the process of land redistribution was recently drastically accelerated. This implies that many newly settled black farmers are fanning but still need to be trained in various aspects of farm management. Unfortunately, in most cases this training did not include environmental management, which among others, implies managing and preparing for veld fires. The Department of Water Affairs and Forestry also does not have sufficient funding to cover all these aspects and a regional collaborative plan must therefore be developed. In addition to this, in an attempt to alleviate poverty, many other previously disadvantaged people in South Africa must be assisted in establishing small business enterprises. This paper will highlight a process to be followed to train and coordinate all farmers and simultaneously establish business opportunities that will remove some of the fuel (grasses and shrubs) in order to reduce the risk and intensity of winter and spring veld fires.

Dans ce cadre, une opportunités d'affaires est traditionnellement regardée comme une chance captée par le dirigeant social. Mais n’est-il pas souhaitable de donner à la notion d’opportunité d’affaires une dimension plus large ? Une opportunité d’affaires est en effet une occasion de s’engager dans une opération ou une activité. En tant que chance économique, une opportunité d’affaires émerge sur le marché. À quelle condition, néanmoins, une occasion de contracter peut-elle être jugée opportune par celui qui s’apprête à la saisir ? Toute opportunité est-elle, par ailleurs, librement saisissable ? Quel est, autrement dit, le traitement juridique des opportunités d’affaires ? Identifier une opportunité d’affaires consiste à déterminer si une opération ou une activité est ou non opportune pour celui qui est appelé à la saisir. En toute hypothèse, le droit contrôle les moyens de l’identification d’une opportunité d’affaires, l’identification d’une opportunité d’affaires ne doit pas être l’occasion de tous les excès. According to the Ministry of the Interior (2010) data show that the total fertility rate of women in our country from 1960 to 1965 of 4.825, down to 0.895 in 2000-2010, fertility rates highest in the world of the reciprocal of the first, even more than the aging neighbor country Japan is even lower. Estimated to 105 years of the Republic of Taiwan's population will probably enter "zero growth"! Today's changing social structures, not married and no children of the proportion continues to increase, the motives of the pet is not just for economic or practical purposes, but accompanied by the emotional pets and owners to produce a interdependent relationship. Their beloved pet is willing to increase spending, thus creating a huge consumer market. Expected in the future, the fertility rate continued low standard of people keeping pets will be more market demand for more vigorous, it is bound to create more pet business opportunities. The purpose of this study is to investigate the low birth rate to bring the pet business opportunities, "the case of its competitors, strengths and weaknesses and its opportunities and threats SWOT analysis to understand the circumstances of its comparative advantage. The Discovery and Exploitation of Opportunities in the Dairy Industry

The dairy industry has undergone a dynamic phase during the past two decades. Innovations in terms of technologies, processes, and products have changed the way the production of milk is done. This research takes an exploratory approach to look at the process of opportunity discovery within farm businesses and what firms in the dairy industry are doing to become more innovative. In addition, this research looks at the strategies farmers are using to successfully implement those innovations. An important factor that could affect the performance of a firm is the degree of which the firm is able to become aware of and exploit innovations that help bridge productivity and opportunity gaps. Data is collected through qualitative tools, including in-depth interviews of dairy producers from Saskatchewan, Canada and Aguascalientes, Mexico. Such data collection provides this research with specific insights into the process of opportunity discovery. It also indicates which managerial practices moderate the successful discovery and exploitation of business opportunities in the dairy industry. A theoretical framework was developed around four managerial factors; networking, human capital, market orientation and entrepreneurial orientation. Several propositions were built to identify the impact of these factors on the discovery and exploitation of opportunities in the dairy industry in both Canada and Mexico. This research shed more light on why some producers are more productive than others and how this is allowing some dairy producers to be more profitable. In addition, findings compare both industries and the differences and similarities are shown in terms of operations, managerial styles and processes in which the discovery and exploitation of opportunities take place.

This diploma thesis is focused on the business opportunities in Ghana. The thesis is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter describes briefly the main characteristics of the Ghanaian market. The second key chapter is analytical. There is a detailed PEST analysis with explanation and practical advises based on author's experience. It is followed by SWOT analyses from the Czech point of view. Finally there is also more information about actual business cooperation between Ghana and Czech Republic. The last chapter of the thesis points out the business opportunities in Ghana. The goal of this thesis is to name the business opportunities in Ghana and to find the main differences of the Ghanaian market, which are crucial for the investor's decision whether to expand to Ghana or not.

Born in the middle of the 20th century, fair trade aims to improve producers' commercial terms. Since the beginning of the 90's, its market in France strongly increased and business owners began to take an interest in it. Nowadays, three growth drivers can be identified: new fair trade products launch, new distribution network development, and targets enlargement (young people and companies are high potential targets). However, some success factors have to be considered. For example, it is necessary to focus on the communication or maximize product visibility in point of sale.

This article reports on the results of the identification of potential business opportunities for Non Governmental Organizations as an extra income to face the present funding challenge. Few research studies have been done on business opportunities as sources of income for NGO's. The aim of this study was to explore potential business opportunities as sources of income and it focused on the research of different possibilities. In this exploratory research study a qualitative approach was followed through interviews with business people and a focusgoup discussion to investigate potential business opportunities. Respondents were selected through purposive sampling techniques, eleven business men and a focusgroup consisting of five business men and six personnel of The Dutch Reformed Ministry or Caring. The eleven business men were recruited from the congregations of the Highveld Sinod. Data were collected through interviews with the business men and the focusgroup interview. Data were analysed according to themes. The following eight potential business opportunities were identified: government contracts, donations, improved marketing, fundraising strategies, buying of a business or shareholding in a business, partnerships, selling of therapeutic services and additional information and proposals. This offers business opportunities for NGO's to use as sources of income to sustain them and ensure that they can continue with their service delivery.
