The sample was composed of 15 couples (15 men and 15 women), in the 19 37 age group, with at least one child. To collect the data it was used a form to identify the participants, the Adults Stress Symptoms Inventory (ASSI), Life Quality Inventory (LQI), questionnaire for couples and the Analog Visual Scale (AVS). The survey occurred in the participants house. The results showed significant association among the conjugal myths, stress and life quality, in other words, some expectations in relation to marriage helped to a better matrimonial harmony and, possibly, a healthier life quality in the studied sample. It was also verified that the bigger the satisfaction in the marriage, the better the life quality related to the health area. In short, it is important to emphasize that this study was done with a reduced sample and that, therefore, the conclusions here presented must be considered in a careful way, avoiding precipitated generalizations. It is suggested the necessity of doing future studies, with a bigger sample. / Este estudo teve por objetivo estudar a associa??o entre a presen?a de mitos conjugais, o stress e a qualidade de vida em casais com at? sete anos de matrim?nio. A amostra foi composta por 15 casais (15 homens e 15 mulheres), na faixa et?ria entre 19 e 37 anos, com pelo menos um filho. Para a coleta dos dados utilizou-se um formul?rio para a identifica??o dos participantes, o Invent?rio de Sintomas de Stress para Adultos (ISSL), Invent?rio de Qualidade de Vida (IQV), Question?rio para Casais e a Escala Anal?gica Visual (EAV). A pesquisa ocorreu nas resid?ncias dos participantes. Os resultados mostraram associa??o significativa entre os mitos conjugais, stress e qualidade de vida, ou seja, algumas expectativas em rela??o ao matrim?nio auxiliaram para uma melhor harmonia matrimonial e, possivelmente, uma qualidade de vida mais saud?vel na amostra estudada. Verificou-se tamb?m que quanto maior a satisfa??o no casamento melhor a qualidade de vida relacionada ? ?rea da sa?de. Em suma, ? importante enfatizar que este estudo foi realizado com uma amostra reduzida e que, portanto, as conclus?es aqui apresentadas devem ser consideradas de maneira cuidadosa, evitando-se generaliza??es precipitadas. Sugere-se a necessidade de realiza??o de estudos futuros, com uma amostra maior.

According to criteria furnished by the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) - Adult Treatment Panel III (ATP III) in 2001, the following characteristics are evident: Obesity (particularly abdominal obesity), i.e. the circumference of the waist: Men ? 102 cm (40 in) and Women ? 88 cm (35 in), elevated blood pressure (? 130/85), triglycerides ? 150, HDL cholesterol (men < 40 mg/dL and Women < 50 mg/dL) and fasting glucose > 110 mg/dL (including Diabetes Mellitus). The Metabolic Syndrome diagnosis is characterized by the presence of 3 out of 5 of these elements. This study evaluated the level of stress and the expression of anger (inward or outward) in women with metabolic syndrome. The study consisted of twenty patients with metabolic syndrome, in the 50 to 65 age bracket, coming from cardiology and endocrinology outpatient clinics at a university hospital in a city in upstate S?o Paulo. The patients were referred following diagnosis by their doctors. After referral, they underwent a psychological evaluation which was conducted by way of interview. In addition, the following tools were employed: Lipp s Stress Symptoms Inventory (ISSL); and the State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI). The interviews were conducted with each patient individually and lasted between 30 and 50 minutes, depending on the patient. Results showed that 75% of women presented stress in the exhaustion phase and 85% of these had a prevalence of psychological symptoms. As far as anger is concerned, a significant association was established between stress and trait anger and stress and anger reaction. Moreover, it was found that approximately 11 women presented a tendency to repress their anger inwards, i.e. they had difficulty in adequately expressing their anger. The results suggest the need for further studies that involve psychological treatment for stress, as the vast majority of the participants presented a high level of stress. / A S?ndrome Metab?lica (SM) representa um conjunto de fatores de riscos de origem metab?lica que podem promover o desenvolvimento de doen?as cardiovasculares. Foram estudadas 20 pacientes com s?ndrome metab?lica provenientes do ambulat?rio de cardiologia e de endocrinologia de um hospital universit?rio de um munic?pio do interior paulista, na faixa et?ria de 50 a 65 anos. As pacientes foram encaminhadas ap?s o diagn?stico dos m?dicos. Ap?s o encaminhamento passaram por uma avalia??o psicol?gica que foi realizada por meio de uma entrevista. Al?m disso,foram aplicados os seguintes instrumentos: Invent?rio de Sintomas de Stress de Lipp (ISSL); e o Invent?rio de Express?o de Raiva como Estado e Tra?o (S.T.A.X.I). A entrevista foi realizada individualmente com cada participante e teve dura??o de 30 a 50 min dependendo de cada paciente. Os resultados revelaram que 75% das mulheres apresentaram stress na fase de exaust?o, 85 % das que estavam em exaust?o tinham predomin?ncia de sintomas psicol?gicos. No que se refere a raiva verificou-se uma associa??o significativa entre stress e tra?o de raiva e stress e rea??o de raiva. Al?m disso, verificou-se que cerca de 11 mulheres apresentaram a tend?ncia a reprimir a raiva para dentro, ou seja, apresentavam dificuldades de expressar sua raiva de maneira adequada. Os resultados sugerem a necessidade de outros estudos que envolvam o tratamento psicol?gico para o stress, j? que a grande maioria das participantes apresentou um alto n?vel de stress.

This paper aimed to investigate the motivation in handball athlets, more specifically, detect the variants had influence the athlets in their choice of the sport, wich the purposes in its pratice and stimulants and distimulants factores in the mentiond sport; drawing the team?s motivational outline. Athlets of handball (N=38) of both gender from private (N=20) and public (N=18) schools of one northeastern capital were subject of this study. It was used a Questionnaire and Scale of motivation for the sport to collection of data. The results were statiscally analysed by the Homogenetty Test (X?) and Sperman?s Correlation Test. The results showed a group of iniciant athlets , in wich a half suffered some influences in choice of handball, among them, the friends are the most influences. The leisure was the consensual purpuse among the athlets in handball pratice. Furthermore, the data showed that tha hierarchy os stimulant variants is not consistent from a group to another, differently from the distimulant variant?s hierarchy, but the championships were mentioned as principal stimulant factor and routs as distimulant. In general view, the teams showed a specifics motivation outlines, althought there are commum points between them. The public schools indicated more intrinsic motivation, the inverse occured in private shools, with athlets more extrinsically motivated. Researches correlates and comparatives are necessary. / A motiva??o ? um tema importante nas v?rias atividades humanas Este trabalho teve como objetivo investigar a motiva??o em atletas de handebol, mais especificamente, detectar vari?veis que influenciaram os atletas na escolha desse esporte, quais os objetivos em pratic?-lo e os fatores estimuladores e desestimuladores no esporte citado, tra?ando o perfil motivacional das equipes. Foram sujeitos (N=38) desse estudo atletas de handebol de escolas do ensino privado (N=20) e p?blico (N=18) de ambos os sexos, em uma capital nordestina. Para a coleta de dados foi utilizado um question?rio estruturado e uma Escala de Motiva??o para o Esporte. Os resultados foram analisados estatisticamente pelo Teste de Homogeneidade (X?) e pelo Teste de Correla??o de Spearnan. Os resultados mostraram que se trata de atletas iniciantes, dos quais metade sofreram alguma influ?ncia na escolha do handebol, dentre eles, os amigos s?o os maiores influenciadores. O lazer foi o objetivo consensual entre os atletas de acordo com a pr?tica do handebol. Os dados mostraram ainda que a hierarquia das vari?veis estimulantes n?o ? consistente de um grupo para outro, diferente da hierarquia das vari?veis desestimuladoras, por?m foram citados os campeonatos como principais estimuladores e as derrotas como desestimuladoras. De um modo geral, as equipes apresentaram um perfil motivacional espec?fico, embora existissem pontos em comum. As escolas p?blicas indicaram mais motiva??o intr?nseca, acontecendo o inverso com as escolas privadas, com atletas mais motivados extrinsecamente. The research participants were ten caregivers, family members within 31 to 73 years old, and 80% of them were females. For data collection, semi-structured interviews were made and also the Lipp?s Inventory of Stress Symptoms for Adults ISSL was applied. The data analysis was quantitative and qualitative. For the ISSL, its answers were evaluated according to its manual, and for the interviews? answers, Bardin?s analysis was used. The results showed that 100% of the participants presented stress, that is, 60% of them were almost exhausted and 40% resistant to it. It was noticed that the caregivers may have a range of responsibilities on a daily or as-needed basis such as family relations and difficulties facing the patient?s death. These results are compatible with other studies and they show the need to improve the lead caregivers? care so that they can have better life quality and to be prepared to deal with death. / O objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi averiguar como o cuidador principal de pacientes oncol?gicos, inseridos em Cuidados Paliativos, vivencia o seu ato de cuidar e a imin?ncia da perda de um ente querido, avaliando como isto afeta o seu n?vel de stress emocional. Os participantes da pesquisa foram 10 cuidadores, familiares, com idade entre 31 e 73 anos, sendo 80% da amostra do sexo feminino. Os pacientes oncol?gicos, acompanhados pelos referidos cuidadores, eram atendidos em um hospital do interior de S?o Paulo. Para a coleta de dados, foi utilizado um roteiro de entrevista semiestruturada e o Invent?rio de Sintomas de Stress para adultos (ISSL). A an?lise dos dados foi quantitativa e qualitativa. Para o ISSL, as respostas foram avaliadas de acordo com as tabelas e normas do seu manual, e para as respostas ao roteiro de entrevista foi utilizada a an?lise de conte?do segundo Bardin. Os resultados revelaram que 100% dos respondentes apresentavam stress, sendo que 60% deles se encontravam na fase de quase-exaust?o e 40% na fase de resist?ncia. Verificou-se que o ato de cuidar ? vivenciado pelos cuidadores como gerador de mudan?as tanto na rotina di?ria quanto nas rela??es interpessoais familiares, que criam dificuldades, necessidades e crescimento durante a fase de terminalidade da vida do paciente. Viver a imin?ncia da morte de um ente querido pelos cuidadores desenvolveu uma gama de sentimentos, tais como medo, desespero, impot?ncia; o pensar sobre a pr?pria finitude e a evita??o do pensar sobre a morte. ? importante ressaltar que, apesar da amostra reduzida do estudo, os resultados s?o compat?veis aos de outras pesquisas, e v?m refor?ar a necessidade de elabora??o de interven??es espec?ficas, efetivas e cont?nuas junto ao cuidador principal de pacientes fora de possibilidade de cura, para a promo??o da sua sa?de, melhora da qualidade de vida e elabora??o das poss?veis perdas e separa??es.

Firstly, it is explained the general theories of Freud and Klein on the concept of ego because these two authors are the main influences of Winnicott. It is also explained the concept of ego, developed by Fairbairn since the dialogue and position of Winnicott towards Fairbairn?s ideas is a significant factor for understanding the concepts elaborated by Winnicott. Then it attempts to clarify the notions of self, ego, I AM, and primary narcissism according to Winnicott, showing that for this author, at the beginning, there is not a primordial ego, due to the great immaturity of the baby. This position of Winnicott will lead him to a different concept from that proposed by other authors from classical psychoanalysis, even more, he will present two meanings for the notion of ego. First, as an individual's innate tendency to integrate, thus leading to a theory about the formation of the ego as a unity to be achieved from which object relations can be established Second, Winnicott refers to the ego as the expression of various types of integration that refer to the constitution and unity of the psychological subject. Winnicott?s clarification and understanding of the integration processes of the ego contribute both to understand the dynamics that make up the earliest phases of development, and help to clarify the sense in which psychoanalytic theory has developed with the works by this author. / Este trabalho tem como objetivo fazer um estudo cr?tico da no??o de ego na obra de Winnicott. Tomam-se, como linha organizadora deste estudo, os trabalhos em que Winnicott trata diretamente da quest?o, assim como de cr?ticas feitas por ele a outros autores no que se refere ao tema. Em primeiro lugar, procura-se explicitar as teses gerais de Freud e Klein sobre a no??o de ego por serem estes dois autores, as principais influ?ncias de Winnicott. Ser? tamb?m explicitada a no??o de ego desenvolvida por Fairbairn, dado que o di?logo e o posicionamento de Winnicott em rela??o ?s concep??es de Fairbairn ? um fator significativo para a compreens?o das concep??es elaboradas por Winnicott. Education in Capitalism points out the social inequality of life in this system (public and private school). In order to change this reality it s necessary that education may be used not as a way of alienation but as a way of changes and transformation. In order to change this reality it is necessary that teenagers undergo an awareing process. School psychologists must play this social transformer role. It will make him/her an important landmark in this process. The research s scene is a private school institution located in the eastern side of Campinas. The participants are students over 18 years old who are enrolled in a preparatory school studding to get admitted in this university. This research s goal is to realize the perception that these teenagers who study in this private school have in relation to their life s condition. In this research we have followed the qualitative research perspective based on the cultural-historical psychology All the data have been obtained by making the students some questions. They were splited in two sections: the first for identification and social-economical dimension and the other containing some questions which would help to reach the research s goal. The research has shown that most participants realize that they have good life condition and a nice place to live. But it also shows they are individualists and apart of social problems / Este projeto nasceu da necessidade da pesquisadora de compreender melhor a desigualdade social, mais especificamente a desigualdade social que ocorre na educa??o. A educa??o no capitalismo denuncia as desigualdades sociais da vida neste sistema, principalmente com a escola p?blica e privada. Para que essa realidade se modifique ? necess?rio que a educa??o seja utilizada n?o como forma de aliena??o e sim de transforma??o. Para que essa mudan?a ocorra, ? necess?rio que este adolescente passe por um processo de tomada de consci?ncia. O psic?logo escolar, por sua vez, deve possuir um papel de transforma??o social, sendo de suma import?ncia neste processo. O cen?rio da pesquisa ? uma Institui??o Privada de Ensino, situada na regi?o leste da cidade de Campinas. Os participantes s?o alunos maiores de 18 anos matriculados no Curso Preparat?rio para Vestibular desta Institui??o. O objetivo da pesquisa ? conhecer a percep??o que os adolescentes que estudam nesta Institui??o Privada possuem em rela??o ?s suas condi??es de vida. Nesta pesquisa seguimos a perspectiva da pesquisa qualitativa, norteada pela psicologia hist?rico cultural. Os dados foram obtidos atrav?s da aplica??o de um question?rio, o qual continha duas partes: uma de identifica??o e dimens?o s?cio econ?mica e outra contendo quest?es que possibilitassem alcan?ar os objetivos da pesquisa. A pesquisa demonstrou que a maioria dos participantes percebe que possui boas condi??es de vida e de moradia, mas tamb?m mostra que s?o individualistas, alheios aos problemas sociais.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Lilia Maise de Jorge.pdf: 1392184 bytes, checksum: 2d47749db350554607277e3c91de3d6b (MD5) Previous issue date: 2003-08-19 / This academic work is characterized as a documental research, which aimed at mapping the evaluation instruments on autism, used in the diagnosis of this disorder and identify the purposes for their use. 64 articles referring to the topic have been selected in the data base PsycINFO, of the American Psychological Association (APA), from 1997 to 2001, which generated files with the data of the articles, samples and research characterization. The instruments found (N=31) have been analyzed in an isolated way or grouped by principles of construction. The results pointed out that Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS), Autistic Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R) and Autism Behavior Checklist (ABC) scales are the ones mostly used in the studies. The purposes of use were predominant over the improvement of the diagnosis in autism and the scales validation; the use rate of the instruments in interventions was low. Only the instruments Checklist of Autism in Toddlers (CHAT), Screening Tool for Autism in Two-Year-Olds (STAT), ?valuation des Comportaments Autistiques du Nourrisson (ECA-N) and Imitation Disorders Evaluation Scale (IDE-S) showed to be specific for the evaluation of children who are below 4 years of age; the others propose a wider age gap. The preponderant number of male subjects over female subjects has been confirmed. The age amplitude contained in these samples, as well as the diversity of other clinical disorders suggested some discussion about the stability of autistic traces and the necessity of improvement in the characterization of the disorder. The results determinate the need for more researches to be carried out in this area, especially in Brazil, in order to qualify the evaluative process, linking it to the intervention procedure, since this is the only way for the autistic individual to have all his/her educational and social needs met. / Este trabalho caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa documental bibliogr?fica cujo objetivo foi mapear instrumentos de avalia??o usados no diagn?stico de autismo e identificar suas finalidades de uso. Na base de dados PsycINFO, da American Psychological Association, foram selecionados 64 artigos referentes ao tema, no per?odo 1997-2001, que geraram fichas com dados de caracteriza??o dos artigos, das amostras e da pesquisa. Os instrumentos encontrados (N=31) foram analisados isoladamente ou agrupados por princ?pio de constru??o. Resultados apontaram a Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS), Autistic Diagnostic Interview Revised (ADI-R) e Autism Behavior Checklist (ABC) como as escalas mais utilizadas. It was done a meta-analysis of the studies produced in the psychology area about old aged persons, in the PsycINFO database, on the first semester of 2003 (N=1281). It was analyzed: title, authors, type of work, themes, participants, reserch place, material used for data collection, and focus. In general, the titles presented a number of words within the recommended quantity, in 42,89% punctuation was not used and in 34,76% it was used colons. The authorship was predominantly multiple (90,1%), with majority male production. The reserch production is predominant (98,75%), and scientific journal is the most used vehicle for divulgation (98,4%). The most frequent themes were Social/Cultural Aspects, Psychological Aspects/ Chsrecte ristics and Diseases; there was a correlation botween the themes classified for the database anf the authors (r=0,98). The majorith of the studies compares old and adilt persons. America and Europe were the continents of major production. The majority of works were made in Health Services (37,71%) in which several types of instruments were used for data collection. The difference between the focus loss (21%) and gain (13,82%) was significant statistically. It is concluded that the area shows development signs. / Com o aumento da longevidade e conseq?ente aumento da produ??o cient?fica sobre velhice, faz-se necess?ria uma an?lise do conhecimento gerado na ?rea. Foi feita uma meta-an?lise dos estudos realizados na ?rea de psicologia sobre idosos, inseridos na base de dados PsyclNFO, no primeiro semestre de 2003 (N=1281). Foram analisados: t?tulo, autoria, tipo de trabalho, tem?tica, participantes, locais de realiza??o das pesquisas, materiais usados para a coleta de dados e enfoque. No geral, os t?tulos apresentaram n?mero de voc?bulos dentro do recomendado, sendo que em 42,89% n?o foi feito uso de pontua??o e em 34,76% foi utilizado dois pontos. A autoria foi predominantemente m?ltipla (90,1%), com maior produ??o mascul ina. A produ??o de pesquisas ? predominante (98,75%), sendo o peri?dico cient?fico o ve?culo mais utilizado para divulga??o (98,4%). Os temas mais freq?entes foram Aspectos Sociais! Culturais, Aspectos! Rela??o entre voca??o, escolha profissional e n?vel de stress / Relationship between vocation, career choice and stress level

It may be taken into account that the choice is multifactorial, which confirms that the selection process is quite complex. Those factors take over adolescents concerns prior to decision making and it may result in stress symptoms. This research aimed at investigating the relationship between choice, vocation and stress in students who undergo career choice. In order to do that, it was recruited 37 adolescents, 14 males and 23 females, aged 15 to 18 years old. They answered the Self-Directed Search Questionnaire (SDS), Inventory of Stress Syndrom of Lipp (ISSL) and the career self-evaluation questionnaire. The results indicated that 72.97% of adolescents in the sample were stressed and the number of stressed females 70.37% was significantly higher than the one of stressed males 29.63%. Regarding the stress symptoms, it was pointed out a prevalence of psychological symptoms 42.24%. Concerning data related to students career type, there was prevalence of 46% of the artistic type whereas a lower prevalence was detected in the realistic one with 34%. In the analysis concerning the congruence between the professional type assessed by the Self-Directed Search and the students career choice, it was observed a percentage of 56.76% for congruence and 43.24% of incongruence. Relevant differences were found when comparing the congruence between the choice and vocation to the gender of the participants. Female students presented less congruence between the choice and vocational profiling when analyzed by chi-squared test (X ? = 4, df = 1, P = 0037). It was concluded that the uncounted variables that influence the socio-cognitive development of adolescents may become stressor agents for career choice. Further studies with larger samples and more geographically heterogeneous are suggested in order to obtain more evidence as to the validity variables. / A escolha profissional se constitui como um processo cont?nuo composto de decis?es tomadas ao longo da vida no qual o indiv?duo ir? encontrar-se em um dado momento. Deve-se considerar que a escolha ? multifatorial, confirmando que o processo de escolha ? algo bastante complexo. Esses fatores dominam as preocupa??es de adolescentes antes da tomada de decis?o sendo que o processo decisional com a proximidade da escolha da profiss?o pode acarretar nos sintomas de stress. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a rela??o entre a escolha, a voca??o e o stress em estudantes em fase de escolha profissional. Para isso foram selecionados 37 adolescentes, 14 do sexo masculino e 23 do sexo feminino, na faixa et?ria entre 15 e 18 anos, para responderem ao Question?rio de Busca Auto Dirigida (SDS), o Invent?rio de Sintomas de Stress (ISSL) e o question?rio de Auto- Avalia??o Profissional. Os resultados indicaram que 72,97%% dos adolescentes da amostra tinham stress e que o n?mero de mulheres com stress ( 70,37%) era significadamente maior do que o de homens com 29,63%. Com rela??o aos sintomas de stress foi apontado um predom?nio de sintomas psicol?gicos (42,24%). Com rela??o aos dados referentes ? tipologia profissional dos estudantes, houve uma preval?ncia do tipo Art?stico com 46% e a preval?ncia mais baixa foi do tipo Realista com 34%. Na an?lise, referente ? congru?ncia entre a tipologia profissional avaliada pelo Self- Directed Seach e a escolha profissional do candidato, foi apontada uma percentagem de 56,76% para congru?ncia e 43,24% para incongru?ncia. Foram encontradas diferen?as significativas ao se comparar a congru?ncia entre a escolha e voca??o com o g?nero dos participantes sendo que as mulheres apresentaram menor congru?ncia entre a escolha e perfil vocacional quando analisado pelo Teste Qui-Quadrado (X?= 4, GL=1, P=0.037). Pode-se concluir que as in?meras vari?veis que influenciam o desenvolvimento s?cio-cognitivo do jovem podem vir a se tornar agentes estressores para a escolha profissional. Novos estudos com amostras maiores e mais heterog?neas geograficamente s?o sugeridos a fim de obter mais evid?ncias de validade quanto ?s vari?veis estudadas.

It is a process that involves the relationship between a leader and a group, marked by countless context possibilities and evaluation, though still little explored empirically. Given this gap and the absence of consent towards its definition, the objective of this work was to investigate the construction of leadership and ascertain how its definition and appreciation alters on behalf of the context. For this, 21 participants belonging to three different context (organizational, social and educational), answered a questionnaire elaborated by the author. Their answers were examined qualitatively by contents analysis, which consisted in the elaboration, by the author, of main categories, subsequently evaluated by independent judges. The results point towards more difference than similarities in the answers provided by the participants of the investigated contexts, in a way that the phenomenon?s definitions, as well as the characteristics that influence the exercise of leadership in a positive and in negative way, showed variation, within the group as well as in intergroup. It is expected that the results of this study may help the investigations about leadership, in a way that other studies are necessaries for a consensus about the concept definition may be, ever more, close to be achieved and, in a way that the results obtained by such researches may contribute to the scientific investigation of leadership / A lideran?a ? uma tem?tica que tem recebido bastante destaque por parte das organiza??es e dos pesquisadores na ?rea do comportamento organizacional, sendo largamente discutida, estudada, pesquisada e exposta ?s mais diversas teorias. ? um processo que envolve a rela??o entre um l?der e um grupo, marcada por in?meras possibilidades de contexto e avalia??o, embora ainda pouco explorada empiricamente. Dada essa lacuna e a aus?ncia de consenso em rela??o ? sua defini??o, o objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a constru??o da lideran?a e averiguar como sua defini??o e valoriza??o se altera em fun??o do contexto. Para isso, 21 participantes que pertencem a tr?s diferentes contextos (empresarial, social e educacional), responderam a um question?rio elaborado pela autora. Suas respostas foram examinadas qualitativamente por meio da an?lise de conte?do, a qual consistiu na elabora??o, pela pesquisadora, de categorias principais, posteriormente validadas por ju?zes independentes.
