Remote work post covid-19- a way to increase organizational attractiveness : A qualitative case study of employee’s experiences of remote work during covid-19Tunholm, Hanna, Lindor, Johanna January 2021 (has links)
In a constantly changing society, there is a demand for organizations to be seen as attractive as they may develop competitiveness on the market. Due to covid-19 newly formed demands are being established for the employer to follow such as working remotely. The purpose of the study is to describe the employee's experiences of remote work during covid-19 and how organizations will be perceived as attractive by the employees when offering remote work post covid-19. Two research questions have been conducted: What are the employee's experiences with remote work? In what way do remote work post covid-19 influence the attractiveness of the organization? Interpretivism is conducted as the paradigm of the study to further carve the purpose and approach. The study is developed through a single case study in a global organization with an inductive approach that permeates the investigation of the purpose. The study is qualitative where semi-structured interviews are used as a collection of empirics. Furthermore, a thematic analysis is used. In the first research question the following themes are developed: Work-life balance, Information, Communication and Interaction and The Effect of Remote work. The themes developed through the second research question follow: Flexibility after covid-19 and the Indications of Flexibility. The previous research creates a greater understanding of empirics. The conclusion reveals that the perception of remote work during covid-19 in the specific case varies and is individualistic. Flexibility in remote work post covid-19 emerges as increasing the attractiveness of the organization. This serves as an indication of other attractive elements however some conditions are required.

Fysisk aktivitet bland gymnasieelever under COVID-19 : En enkätstudieLind, William January 2021 (has links)
Insufficient physical activity is a problem that gets more severe as individuals reach their teens, which affects their physical and mental health negatively. The societal impact of COVID-19 has amounted to many changes in the daily lives of the youth and has possibly affected their physical activity levels. Aim: To examine physical activity levels of Swedish youth (16-19 years) during COVID-19 and compare physical activity levels during and before the outbreak of COVID-19 in Sweden. Method: Upper secondary schools in central Sweden were randomly selected to be asked to participate in a survey study. Seven Day Physical Activity Recall Questionnaire was used to estimate thestudents physical activity and compare it with their physical activity levels before COVID-19 (January 2020). Results: In total, 214 students were includedin the analysis. On average, the respondents were active for 46,39 minutes of weekly moderate- to vigorous physical activity (girls 41,98 min, boys 50,96min). Most of the participants (62,1 %) stated that they were more active before than during the pandemic. Boys were generally more active than girls and physical activity increased from year 1 to year 3. Conclusion: The results indicate that physical activity decreased among the respondents due to COVID-19. This is an aspect which needs to be considered when choosing societal strategies during pandemics. / <p>Betyg i Ladok 210603.</p>

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 decimated the theatre industry. Nevertheless, the Department of Theater at Southern Illinois University Carbondale elected to produce live performances of Tuck Everlasting: The Musical to satisfy the thesis requirements of its graduate students and continue the education of its undergraduate students. This document chronicles the production amidst the pandemic from its inception through its closure from the director’s perspective by detailing the pre-production, production, and post-production phases. Pre-production examines the play analysis, directorial interpretation, design process, and casting. Production recounts the processes of executing rehearsals and developing production elements, including complications from COVID-19. Finally, post-production considers the final product through performance and self-reflection, addressing areas of success and opportunities for growth.

COVID-19’s Effect on Consumer Decision-Making in Millennials : A Study of Fashion Consumption in SwedenAhmad, Rafae, Tsuchida, Yuki, Jonsson, Robin January 2021 (has links)
Background: With the COVID-19 pandemic having brought on drastic lifestyle changes in the form of lockdowns, stay at home orders and social distancing directives, there exists an avenue for research for how these circumstances have affected the decision-making process of millennials towards fashion products. This can be done by exploring the changes that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on millennials' consumer decision making process. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to explore the effects that the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the consumer decision-making process in millennials regarding their fashion consumption. This exploratory study may aid marketing practitioners in assessing the behavioural changes that have occurred in the target demographic, and to apply the findings towards evolving their marketing mix or other related strategies to adapt to what could be the “new normal” post-pandemic. Method: An exploratory research study conducted qualitatively using the data from interviews of 14 millennials in Sweden and employing abductive reasoning and a thematic analysis approach. Conclusion: The findings and the analysis from the study suggests that the millennial demographic in Sweden have seen a change in their fashion consumption in the context of the CDP model (Blackwell et al., 2006). These changes are linked to the three global themes identified by the authors which were Change in Social Settings, Change in Requirements and Behavioural Shifts, as well as their underlying categories. Through the analysis the authors found that the Need Recognition, Search for Information, Pre-Purchase Evaluation of Alternatives, Purchase and the Post Purchase Evaluation stages were affected in the participant’s fashion consumption.

Managing from the comfort of your own home – a dream come true or an unproductive nightmare? : A single case study exploring how managers’ perceived team productivity has changed during COVID-19Arnoldsson, Josefin, Malak, Hanna January 2021 (has links)
This study explores how managers perceive the change in their teams’ productivity, as a result of moving from an office-based workspace to a virtual workspace. In the circumstances of the global COVID-19 pandemic, and its resulting restrictions and recommendations, there has been a mass relocation to working virtually from home. To establish if there has been any perceived change in employee productivity, several different factors such as communication, team unity, and trust were compared during two different time-points, before the start of the pandemic and 16 months into the pandemic. This is a hybrid study that makes use of both quantitative and qualitative properties, by first establishing a base of data through a survey, the initial observations were then explored further and to greater insight by interviewing a sample of the managers who took part in the survey. The findings of the study suggest that the pandemic reflects an overall negative outcome on team productivity as a result of working virtually. The most affected team factors include communication, conflict resolution, and planning. There are however other effects to factors such as team unity and trust that may bear relational consequences. Ultimately, the findings of the current study indicate a generally negative effect on team productivity.

En kvalitativ studie om naturområden och människans mående under covid-19 restriktioner / A qualitative study of natural areas and people’s wellbeing during covid-19 restrictionsWimer Bergman, Clara, Nilsson, Sofie January 2021 (has links)
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the covid-19 virus a pandemic on the 11th of March 2020. Sweden introduced restrictions to limit the spread of the virus and to restrict people's physical contact with each other. During the pandemic people started to visit natural areas and the number of visitors in these places increased. The purpose of the study was to examine the relation between human and nature and the affiliation with the supportive- and cultural ecosystem services that people utilize when they spend time in nature. A qualitative interview method was chosen to fulfill the purpose of the study. We interviewed four nature conservation managers in four different natural areas in Skåne county, a caretaker in one of the areas, and five individuals who had visited natural areas during the pandemic. The result of the study displayed that the number of visitors had significantly increased in three out of four natural areas and the disturbance from human activity was potent in some of the areas. It was not possible to determine how human disturbance affected the supportive ecosystem services since not enough time had elapsed since the increase of visitors. People have used the natural areas to relax, be restored, and to engage in social activities. The cultural ecosystem services have thus been of greater importance for people during the pandemic. The study also concluded that more research is needed to examine the long-term effects of the pandemic on human’s and nature's wellbeing.

Well, that escalated quickly... : Exploring how leaders have managed the rapid change of leading a group of people in a physical environment into a digital environment due to Covid-19.Fellbrant, Johanna, Fridén, Emma, Ohlsson, Clara January 2021 (has links)
The Covid-19 pandemic has not only affected people's health seriously around the world, but it has also forced people to change the way they live their lives abruptly. The pandemic has had a significant impact on how people communicate and interact, and changed our normal working routines to a digital setting. Leadership is more important than ever during a time of crisis, hence, this phenomenon must be investigated further. The pandemic has created new changing realities for organizations and individuals. Considering constant changes in the world, one can argue that leadership also changes with time and thus indicates the need for updated research on the subject. Therefore, leadership is an important subject to investigate constantly despite its complexity. The purpose of this paper is to deepen the understanding of leaders' and employees' experiences of leadership within a time of crisis that has created new, digital, working conditions for organizations. This thesis will also contribute to the psychological philosophy of change management theory with new valuable insights.
