O objetivo deste trabalho é o de investigar as diferentes formas e figurações que os estabelecimentos bancários adotaram em seus edifícios, e as razões para a sua consolidação e permanência. Pretende também analisar algumas das transformações significativas que os prédios sofreram ao longo de seu desenvolvimento, em particular, as modificações formais e figurativas decorrentes da adoção dos conceitos da arquitetura moderna em meados deste século. / The purpose of this work is to investigate the different forms and figurative aspects adopted by bank buildings, as well as the reasons for their consolidation and permanence. It attemps either to study significant transformations that bank buildings undergone all along their evolution, particularly formal and appearance modifications determined by the Modern Movement in this century.
