Chou Chin-Chen¡¦s object-describing lyricsWang, Wei-ling 25 July 2011 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the object-describing lyrics written by Chou Chin-Chen and investigates the selection of ideas, analysis of images, and artistic characteristics. This thesis is divided into six chapters.
Chapter 1 is divided into two sections. The first section introduces the research motivation, the research methods, and literature review. The second section studies the origin of object-describing lyrics to describe the relationship of objects and literature and to define the concept of object-describing lyrics.
Chapter 2 indicates the formation background of Chou Chin-Chen¡¦s lyrics. The first section discusses the historical origin and litery development of object-describing lyrics in terms of different dynasties: Early Chin dynasty, The Han dynasty, and Wei-Jin Dynasty. In addition, the section further investigates the civil object-describing lyrics in Dunhuang and intellectuals¡¦ object-describing lyrics in early North Song Dynasty. The second section discusses the factors of writing with the respect of the social and cultural background and makes the list of Chou Chin-Chen¡¦s lyrics in order to compare the background influences and literature characteristics.
Chapter 3 analyzes the content of Chou Chin-Chen¡¦s lyrics based on the definition made in the previous sections. The chapter discusses 32 lyrics to analyze the selection of ideas with six categories: season, plants, nature, appearance and time. There are two seasonal lyrics (lantern and Chongjiu festivals), ten plant lyrics (plum flowers, willows, pear, lotus, sweet-scented osmanthus, and apricot), seven nature lyrics (snow, moon, and spring rain). The discussion focuses on the image analysis including prototypes and trends and further investigates the historical backgrounds, content structures, writing skills and historical evaluations.
Chapter 4 studies and compares Chou Chin-Chen¡¦s object-describing lyrics in terms of the artistic characteristics, rhetoric skills, language styles, and content structures.
Chapter 5 describes the comments and influences of Chou Chin-Chen¡¦s object-describing lyrics. Chapter 6 concludes the achievement of Chou Chin-Chen¡¦s object-describing lyrics.

Abstract
In recent years, studies of Taiwanese aboriginal literature have been given attentions due to the trend of localization in literature. Japanese scholars are the pioneers who are interested in and study Taiwanese aboriginal literature. They spend lots of efforts on studying Yami tribe much more than on other aborigines in Taiwan. The Yami did not have written language. They orally passed their culture on generation by generation. Therefore, they have abundant literature of oral tradition. Siyapenjipengaya, a Yami, worried that the Yami culture would be lost because of the assimilation to the Han nationality. He, therefore, recorded the culture features in literation. Yami is one of the Austronesian tribes, and they are the only aborigine who live near coasts in Taiwan. Their culture is much different from the other aborigines in Taiwan, and they are the only aborigine who do not have the tradition of headhunting and wine making.
This study focused on the features of tribalism and cultural heritages in the works of Siyapenjipengaya. The works displaying tribalism were classified as the origins of the tribe, the spirits in traditional stories, life stories, and Anito¡¦s stories. The works displaying cultural heritages were classified as the knowledge of seas and oceans, cultural heritages, and Yami songs. By studying the folk stories and songs in the works of Siyapenjipengaya, the purpose of this study was to comprehend the custom and tradition of Yami culture.

Cauliflower mosaic virus (CaMV) is the best studied of the plant pararetroviruses with a doubled-stranded, relaxed circular DNA genome of 8 kb. CaMV coat protein (CP) is one of the key components of the virus involved in assembly, packaging and nuclear delivery of the viral genome. CaMV coat protein (CP) is expressed from gene IV as a precursor (preCP) of 489 amino acids harbouring N- and C-terminal extensions. Several processing steps lead to the three main capsid protein species, p44, p39 and p37. The N-and C-terminals extensions are released by the activity of viral and host proteases and are absent from the mature virus. The function of both extemities is still poorly understood during the viral cycle. The principal goal of this project was to investigate the function of the N- and Cterminal extensions of the viral capsid in the CaMV life cycle. First, the N-terminal extension is important to maintain the pre-CP in the cytoplasm for compartimentation of the viral assembly process in small inclusion bodies located close to the plasma membrane. The N- and C-terminal extensions are essential for viral replication since no deletion in thoses regions are tolerated by the virus. We next provided the evidence that both termini are phosphorylated by the virus associated casein kinase, suggesting that this modification could play an important role for regulation of the function of the two extremities.
