Three lots were used for the cultivars Tabarana, Tucunaré and Monsoy 8866. The analyzes were germination, seedling emergence, tetrazolium test, oil content, protein and free fatty acids. The lot 3 of Tabarana cultivar presented higher germination compared to the others. By the tetrazolium test, the seed viability was similar between lots and cultivars. The seedling emergence was higher in Tabarana cultivar and also from seeds of lot 3. The contents of protein, oil free fatty acids in soybean seeds were variable between lots and reflected in the average difference between cultivars. The protein content was higher in Tabarana cultivar and oil content showed higher value in cultivar Monsoy 8866. The free fatty acids was lower in seeds of Tucunaré cultivar. The chemical composition varies among seed cultivars and lots, maintaining relationship the quality of soybean seeds. / O presente trabalho teve por objetivo estabelecer relação entre a variabilidade da composição química e a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de soja. Foram empregados três lotes de sementes de soja, cultivares Tabarana, Tucunaré e Monsoy 8866. Foram realizados os testes de germinação e de emergência de plântulas e de tetrazólio e determinações dos teores de óleo, proteína e ácidos graxos livres. O lote 3 da cultivar Tabarana apresentou maior germinação comparativamente aos demais. Pelo teste de tetrazólio, a viabilidade de sementes foi similar entre lotes e cultivares. A maior emergência de plântulas verificou-se no lote 3 da cultivar Tabarana. Os teores de óleo, proteína e ácidos graxos livres em sementes de soja foram variáveis entre lotes e refletiram em diferença média entre cultivares. O teor de proteína foi maior em sementes da cultivar Tabarana e o teor de óleo apresentou maior valor nas sementes da cultivar Monsoy 8866. O nível de ácidos graxos livres foi inferior na cultivar Tucunaré. A composição química de sementes é variável entre cultivares e lotes e apresenta relação com a qualidade fisiológica de sementes de soja.
