Mostro que um c / Through this dissertation-“...Art or vandalism? You decide...”what the urban grafisms on “peace and violence” teaches us-, i intend to show how the cultural practices of urban grafisms cause the circulation of speeches around the notions “peace and violence”, and how truth is instituted. For this analysis I describe the statements present in photographic registrations taken in the city of Porto Alegre (RS), during the elapsed period of one year. Before of the materiality of eight hundred cultural texts, i chose those that i thought were more significant to my investigation. I composed four groups of significance: suffering and death in the presence of human kind, conflict of the weapons presence, multiplicity of ways and ambivalence of wars. I organized each one of these groups with four cultural texts where I could notice appeals that interconnected them and that condensed the conflicts on the notion of peace and violence, put in context with the dynamics of the experiences of live in the plurality of the s

Bueno, Paulo Fernando Zanardini January 2017 (has links)
This qualitative approach master‘s dissertation on Educational Cultural Studies has analyzed the lines of the presenters of a cultural artifact of television, The Love School show, and the subjects most discussed by them. As the first technique of the methodology used, this resource generated the source of empirical material registered in what I named ―The Transcription Notebook‖. For the research, I have selected 24 (twenty four) editions of the show from November, 2014 to April, 2015. Marriage is the central theme of the show‘s agenda which is directly related to the principles underlying the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. Through The love school show it was possible to realize that the Universal Church has developed a new way of talking about religion, by making use of other languages, such as the proper language of television, since this new product offered by the Record TV channel may have initiated a sequence of new evangelizing shows, which tend to be monotonous and uninteresting in their most traditional and religious versions due to the use of a language common to the cathedrals‘ pulpits as well as the tiresome show times. Such cultural artifact allow us to understand the concept of cultural pedagogy category, dear to the field of education, as a different dynamic that does not only teach ways of being and living, but also show the counterexample of other cultural pedagogies in another cultural artifacts, such as the commercial entertainment. I have understood this concept in such object through the introduction of the religious culture originating in the Church that criticizes the unholy culture of media products. This same discourse frames a standard of couple who prioritize marriage above any problem so as to overcome challenges to prevent a separation, and who is inspired by the men and women described in the biblical text, the Old Testament. Such inspiration has been considered here as a backlash to the real life of women. The idea of a backlash (Faludi, 2001) seems to be an element that easily adheres to the religious culture of Universal Church, allied to the cultural pedagogy taught by The Love School; it characteristically operates as a cyclic cultural policy. And, cyclically, the culture seems to make us live several moments of intense regression both through certain media products and through the reactions of certain political groups imposing their interests. Hence, I believe the contemporary Brazil is living a religious cycle of backlash regarding life and love relationship issues to say the least.

Thoma, Adriana da Silva January 2002 (has links)
This study comprehends the fluctuation of discourses and representations in cinematographic texts and in deaf texts. Firstly I examine how the deaf otherness is narrated/produced/invented/left out and included in movies which focus on deafness and deaf people. Secondly I analyse how the film questionings happen in a group of university deaf students. The theoretical basis and the methodological tools are in Cultural Studies, mainly in British Cultural Studies and in Michel Foucault’s thought. From those sources I use discourse understandings, representation, culture, cultural pedagogy, questioning, meaning production and power, between other issues. The analytical perspective in Cultural Studies considers culture and cultural tools as practices of meaning, not making any difference between high culture and low culture. Michel Foucault offers theoretical and methodological tools in which we can analyse the discourse as practice. The result of cinematographic text analysis is presented through a set of “lessons” that were organised by the reiterate representations and discourses that make up the films. It is not about examining what is behind what is said, not even having a “comparative” analysis, saying that it might have better or worse euphemisms to narrate deafness and deaf people as well. It is important to be suspicious of the range of learning that takes deaf people prisoners in positions, territories and meanings that justify the control and regulation of their bodies. Deaf texts, in turn, were analysed from what university deaf students said when questioned about the movies we saw in our meetings. Epistemologically reversing the order of speakers, understanding how negotiations and power games occur, also how some perspectives take place and others are excluded might be a way to understand the complexity that exists when we speak in other people’s place, when we narrate them and when we make them up from the normality signs.

Pires, Fabiana de Brito January 2011 (has links)
The remarkable place occupied by the body nowadays – a young, beautiful/healthy, happy body – associated with the flow of information spread by the media proposing its appropriate care caused me to look at who has talked about, as well as how and what has been said to women over 50 in the written media. I examined some utterances shown in the newspaper supplements called Vida (Zero Hora) and Equilíbrio (Folha de São Paulo) along 2009, seeking to draw attention to the ―truths‖ spread therein. Those truths may act as constituent elements of both those women‘s subjectivities and their behaviors towards themselves. This research was grounded on the field of Cultural Studies, in their post-structuralist streams. Firstly, I approached the experiences that have driven me towards a study of the body as presented in newspapers and I pointed out the theoretical-methodological tools used in this trajectory. Secondly, I approached different ways of naming both the life period of subjects seen as old and old age – old, elderly, third age – in an attempt to show that such classifications are historical constructions/productions, so that there are several ways of getting old, according to society and time. Thirdly, by analyzing characteristics attributed and teachings related to body care among women over 50 and in some situations related to menopause, I discussed how those women‘s body has been represented and shown in the supplements above mentioned. Fourthly, I analyzed in those supplements the ―true‖ discourses directed to the body medicalization. These discourses engender practices that enhance a supposed healthy life – nutritional habits, physical exercises, supplementation for organic/metabolic reposition, affective and social relationships, etc. – emphasizing the role of social practices in the constitution of the ways we think and act in relation to our body nowadays. Finally, I resumed the trajectory of this study, approaching what the research has enabled, the issues that remain to be discussed and the will that such learning allow my teaching practice to be constantly problematized.

Anderson Nereu Galcowski 16 October 2011 (has links)
This research aims to recognize the discourse concerning contraceptive practices conveyed by Capricho magazine in 1994. To that end, was organized a set of sources consisting of six volumes of the magazine of the months: January, March, May, September, October, December in the same year. It includes a description of the historical path of contraception in Brazil since the sixties to the mid-nineties, including from the perspective that encompasses public policies about the use of hormonal contraceptives and condoms. It seeks to analyzes some concepts related to cultural pedagogy and its related areas and to investigate the possible ways in which discourses propagated by the media interfere in the formation of subjectivities.
