Aplikace dashboardů v oblasti podpory řízení IT / Application of dashboards in the area of support of IT management

Sakař, Václav January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis is focused on the issue of IT management in the companies, which is described in the MBI (Management of Business Informatics) model, at all levels of IT management in the way how they are defined and used by MBI. The main goal of this diploma thesis is design and create (new/modified) content in the area of IT management in the MBI model for broader usage of this model in the company sphere. The main goal is fulfilled by fulfilling of two sub-goals. Firstly, it is designing and creating new metrics, dimensions and applications or modification (extension) of already existing content in MBI model. Secondly, it is implementation of new or (selected) modified content with Microsoft PowerPivot into the form of interactive applications and then into the dashboards composed from them. The structure of this diploma thesis is adjusted to make those sub-goals achievable. The structure is divided into theoretical and practical section containing together six main parts. Firstly, the two most widely used methodologies of IT management and mainly MBI model are described. Then the definitions of metric (as a main instrument, which is used in IT management) and its attributes are described. Following section contains definition of dashboards and basic description about their designing and creating. In the last part of the theoretical section are described metrics, dimensions, applications and their connections in the MBI model. First part of practical section is about designing and creating of new metrics, dimensions and applications or modifying of already existing content. The last part of this thesis contains implementation of a new or (selected) modified content into applications or dashboards. Main benefit of this diploma thesis is enrichment of existing content in the MBI model in IT management (specifically in the metrics, the dimensions, the applications and the dashboards based on those three things), which improved usability of the MBI in practical usage. Thanks to this extended content, the users or mainly the management employees can react in better way on the potential problems, have better overview about level of quality of the IT resources, can manage the employees in better way and can coordinate quality and quantity of the IT outputs in better way in general.

Framtidens datadrivna affärsmodeller / The Future of Data driven Businessmodel

Rosqvist, Samuel, Olsson, Philip January 2021 (has links)
Profiling users online and directed online advertising has become a major business with companiessuch as Google and Facebook as frontier companies. Through incidents such as the CambridgeAnalytica scandal, the public has started to take notice of both the positive and the negative sides of thebusiness. The data given to companies with a data driven business model can make the user experiencemore personalized and therefore better. On the other hand the data collected could be seen as privacyreducing and exploitation of users. This study aims to foresee opportunities and new ways to develop adata driven business model which has the user's interests in mind and still remains profitable. Withempirical data through interviews and theories the study will show that data driven business modelshave big potential to be profitable and simultaneously make the user more aware or even make datadelivery in the user’s best interest. The main methods to do this is by implementing privacy dashboards, transparency and moving the pieces in the business model to make the user central in the businessmodel.

Från data till ett organisatoriskt förstoringsglas : En kvalitativ studie om designen av dashboards i praktiken

Harju Schnee, Linn, Wallentin, Rakel January 2021 (has links)

First prototype for Digital Twin of the Organization data visualization following the EA Blueprint architectural pattern

Steiner, Lorenz Michael January 2022 (has links)
As a result of the digitalization of industrial processes, huge amounts of data are generated in organizations every second. Developing solutions that properly represent this data is critical for making it useful to the organization's stakeholders. Data visualization is a field within computer science that can be utilized to address this demand by enabling the development of appropriate methods for showing the data output of Digital Twins of the Organization (DTO). A recently proposed architecture for a resilient DTO using the EA Blueprint Pattern provides a promising basis for implementing DTOs that are capable of evolving alongside a dynamic organization. However, there is a lack of implementation of any prototypes of the proposed architecture's Information Architecture, which is responsible for dealing with data and visualizing them. Therefore, this thesis aims to develop a visualization prototype, aligned with the proposed architecture. The thesis achieves this goal by first establishing a theoretical basis in data visualization and applicable visualization techniques through a brief review of research articles. After a systematic selection process of visualization tools, the Python frameworks Plotly and Dash are chosen for designing and implementing a visualization prototype. The final design consists of a Python application containing various features and implementing multiple classes which make the prototype easily modifiable and thus able to evolve. In an industrial use case, the prototype is demonstrated to be fulfilling its requirements. Using the observations from the use case, it is finally concluded that the prototype is, in fact, sufficiently aligned with the proposed DTO architecture.

Grafické prostředí pro simulaci robotů / Graphical Environment for Robot Simulation

Malina, Michal January 2008 (has links)
This thesis deals with robot modelling and simulation of the robot behavior. At first we discuss a benefit of this kind of simulation. Next we describe the general scheme of robot. After that we select the environment where robot will be simulated in. There is a conception of this robot and explanation of the implementation in chosen environment. We continue with design and realization of the communication interface of this robot. The result of this procedure is robot with independent movement able to response to the obstructions and avoid them. Robot is able to create a map of the environment and use this map to find out the optimal way to the scheduled goal using the A* algorithm and achieve this goal. There is a possibility to use more robots in the scene. These communicate and the nearest one is able to get the goal.

Implementation of Sustainability Dashboard using Augmented Reality : A comparative usability evaluation study

Viklund, Philip, Sjölander, Martina January 2022 (has links)
With the industrial revolutions, there have been challenges to deal with producing goods from limited natural resources while keeping the negative environmental impacts low. The potential impact and contribution from Industry 4.0 are increasingly growing attention. Industry 4.0 allows access to a large amount of data, which can be used to increase knowledge and awareness of unsustainable production performance, and empower more sustainable decision-making. To preserve the advantages of the transition to Industry 4.0, advanced visualization techniques for data-oriented operations are needed to get the full value of available data. One core Industry 4.0 technology that could help display information on a new level is augmented reality. However, there is a lack of studies evaluating the usability of augmented reality in an industrial context. With the purpose to investigate how visualization techniques can be implemented to increase the sustainability of a production line, a solution that could be visualized using a monitor, mobile-augmented reality, or augmented reality with a head-mounted display is presented. The usability of the dashboard solution is evaluated with user testing, which is conducted at Scania in Södertälje, Sweden. A mix of qualitative and quantitative research methodology is used, where an empirical study took place in a laboratory environment. Measurements and questionnaires provide quantitative data for empirical evidence, whereas qualitative data as open questions and thinking aloud isincluded to support the concluding summary. The study concludes with a framework capable of collecting live sensor data and visualizing it through various media. Additionally, the monitor is the most efficient media, and the most satisfying media overall. The mobile media have the highest effectiveness.

Designing dashboards – visualizing software metrics for Continuous Delivery

Chan, Fanny January 2018 (has links)
Feedback is an essential part of the software delivery process. Software metrics, as feedback, can give knowledge about the essential parameters that affect the software development process. An improved understanding of the software development process can facilitate more effective software management. With new software development methodologies emerging, such as Continuous Delivery, new information needs arise. The new methodology requires a new way of thinking when designing and developing dashboards for software development. A dashboard is a communication tool that can provide up-to-date information through at a glance interaction. The purpose of this thesis was to investigate how different software metrics related to Continuous Delivery can be visualized in a dashboard system at the company Saab. This thesis used a user-centered approach to find the appropriate visualization and user context to provide the user with feedback that supports the software development. The thesis work included user observations in the form of interviews and contextual inquiry. Thereafter, prototyping and usability testing were conducted in two iterations to design the dashboard and gather feedback. The result of this thesis work was a final prototype that was implemented in the program Kibana using real-time data from a software project. This thesis presents a set of elements that should be included when designing a dashboard for software development based on the findings of this study.

Investigating the use of Gamification in data presentation

Svensson, Jacob January 2022 (has links)
In recent years, the use of video games has increased worldwide. A variety of industries such as business and education have taken a great interest in this phenomenon by applying game elements in a non-game context with the goal to increase users motivation. However, there are still areas where the use of Gamification is yet to be explored. One of these areas is Gamification applied to statistics, where there is a limited amount of research. Research suggests that statistics can be difficult for people to interpret, especially when there is a lack of interest involved. Therefore this study examined if Gamification could be used to to influence the user experience when presenting data in a dashboard. The user centered design method double diamond was used to create two prototypes, one with gamification and one without. These prototypes were compared through A/B testing, where the gamified prototype proved to be the winner, resulting in that gamification did have an positive impact of the user experience when presenting data in a dashboard. The resulting prototype proposes a way of how gamification can be applied when presenting data in a dashboard.
