This dissertation reviews this regional promotional policy through several perspectives with the purpose of shedding some light onto performed stages and the mechanisms applied in its evolution, pitching it against the legal security, an indispensable element for a Law-abiding Democratic State. The study starts off from a rereading of the theories underpinning the conceptual evolution of development both from the interdisciplinary standpoint of the economy, the history and of the economic law giving priority to those which directly or indirectly have influenced the conceptual basis of the Manaus Industrial Hub and showing the new dimensions, highlighting the issue of socioenvironmental sustainability, intrinsically applicable to the Amazon reality. As a whole, the main phases of the national development as sequenced starting from the thirties of the XX century the when the Brazilian State began to adopt developmental strategies until these days, emphasizing political and economic aspects, which have interfered in the readequability of the original proposal and have produced its current conformation, with a brief historical description the public policies, which have intended to interfere in the economic and industrial performance of the Amazon space resulting in the creation of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM) and of the Manaus Industrial Hub (PIM). The text puts forward some reflections on its main phases, contradictions, difficulties and perspectives and the repercussions resulting from the regulatory alterations at all levels, to, at the end, promote a study of the main constitutional and tributary focuses of the issue giving priority to the theme of legal security, probing into its real existence and effectiveness.

Ozsoy, Feyzullah Aykut 12 May 2011 (has links)
In this thesis, we introduce the Partitioning-Hub Location-Routing problem (PHLRP), which can be classified as a variant of the hub location problem.
PHLRP consists of partitioning a network into sub-networks, locating at least one hub in each subnetwork and routing the traffic within the network such that all inter-subnetwork traffic is routed through the hubs and all intra-subnetwork traffic stays within the sub-networks all the way from the source to the destination. Obviously, besides the hub location component, PHLRP also involves a graph partitioning component and a routing component. PHLRP finds applications in the strategic planning or deployment of the Intermediate System-Intermediate System (ISIS) Internet Protocol networks and the Less-than-truck load freight distribution systems.

First, we introduce three IP formulations for solving PHLRP. The hub location component and the graph partitioning components of PHLRP are
modeled in the same way in all three formulations. More precisely, the hub location component is represented by the p-median variables and constraints; and the graph partitioning component is represented by the size-constrained graph partitioning variables and constraints. The formulations differ from each other in the way the peculiar routing requirements of PHLRP are modeled.

We then carry out analytical and empirical comparisons of the three IP
formulations. Our thorough analysis reveals that one of the formulations is
provably the tightest of the three formulations. We also show analytically that the LP relaxations of the other two formulations do not dominate each other. On the other hand, our empirical comparison in a standard branch-and-cut framework that is provided by CPLEX shows that not the tightest but the most compact of the three formulations yield the best performance in terms of solution time.

From this point on, based on the insight gained from detailed analysis of the formulations, we focus our attention on a common sub-problem of the three formulations: the so-called size-constrained graph partitioning problem. We carry out a detailed polyhedral analysis of this problem. The main benefit from this polyhedral analysis is that the facets we identify for the size-constrained graph partitioning problem constitute strong valid inequalities for PHLRP.

And finally, we wrap up our efforts for solving PHLRP. Namely, we present
the results of our computational experiments, in which we employ some facets
of the size-constrained graph partitioning polytope in a branch-and-cut algorithm for solving PHLRP. Our experiments show that our approach brings
significant improvements to the solution time of PHLRP when compared with
the default branch-and-cut solver of XPress.

/

Konstrukční návrh zubové spojky pro aplikaci v kolejové dopravě / Design of the Gear Coupling for Railway Vehicle Application

Pelíšek, Vojtěch January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this work was to create a design of a gear coupling for railway vehicle application. The work presents a comprehensive view of this issue. First of all, a brief theoretical introduction to the issue is made. The practical part follows, where the design of the whole coupling and especially the newly designed solutions are described in detail. The strength analysis performed deal with the key components that are necessary to ensure safe operation. These analyses can be applied not only for this particular case, but also to gear couplings of different designs, because in principle these calculations do not differ much. In the last chapter, which deals with the dynamic model, all the theoretical assumptions are verified, especially the coupling movements and the applied loads. If the reader deals with the issue of gear couplings, not only in the railway industry, this work presents a comprehensive view of this component. The designed coupling and all performed simulations are really usable in operation.

Regulatory sandboxes in the European Union : Does regulatory sandboxes need to be regulated at Union level, and if they do, by what means?

Grahn, Sofia January 2021 (has links)
In recent times, the financial market has changed and a contributing factor is technological innovation. Technological innovation can develop the provision of financial services which companies such as banks offers their consumers. There are two ways a jurisdiction can promote the development of financial services; either through a regulatory sandbox or an innovation hub. A regulatory sandbox is a safe environment where banks and companies who only works with technological innovation (FinTech-companies) can test their unregulated business models. The environment is controlled and monitored by a supervisory authority. Regulatory sandboxes are available in more than 50 different jurisdictions, and an increasing number of European countries are either thinking of establishing one or have already done it. Within the European Union, some organisations such as the European Commission and the European Parliament have expressed their willingness to regulate regulatory sandboxes at Union level. For now, sandboxes can only be set up as a national regulatory sandbox. The purpose of this master’s thesis is to investigate whether the Union needs to regulate regulatory sandboxes and if so, should the Union introduce a directive or a regulation on harmonized national regulatory sandboxes. The investigation of this thesis shows that regulatory sandboxes are needed even though some Member States are unwilling to establish one. Regulatory sandboxes are needed in the Union because it furthers the competition between companies offering financial services. Regulatory sandboxes also help new entrants such as FinTech-companies to grow. If the Union does not regulate regulatory sandboxes, it will hinder the free movement of services. The best outcome for regulation, would be if the Union adopted a directive on harmonized national regulatory sandboxes. The regulation should be adopted as a directive because it facilitates Member States in determining which provisions should be implemented in national legislation.
