The creation and manifestation of reality through the re-enactment of subconscious conclusions and decisionsOpperman, Michiel Christiaan 31 March 2005 (has links)
The Creation and Manifestation of Reality-theory was developed for this study. This theory provides an answer to why high functioning people experience problems at work, develop relationship problems, and other dysfunctions that occur in their lives. It provides an explanation as to why this happens: at a certain point in our existence a critical incident (or Initial Sensitising Event) or a series of repeated incidents is perceived by the person as traumatic. During this time of high emotion the child forms a subconscious conclusion, followed by a subconscious decision. The Hypnotic Blueprint is an accumulation of all the different subconscious conclusions and decisions formed over time at a time of intense emotionality, during which the psyche feared for its survival, repressed, gated and banished into the borders of the person's subconscious mind. Numerous other incidents occur through life that reinforce and bolster the original Hypnotic Blueprint. Simultaneously, conflicting ego-states are formed, attempting to balance the state of disequilibrium.
Later in life, the original Blueprint is triggered, through the Symptom Activating Event, at a sub-conscious level and starts to operate in the person's life, attracting the circumstances and people who best replay or re-enact the original trauma on a symbolic level. This pattern will be recreated in the person's life, and will most often be the reason why the person enters therapy, or the presenting problem. Life acts as a mirror of the inner world or the psyche of the person. The inner world is mirrored by the other world, or reality. By changing our inner reality, we impact or transform our outer reality.
To complete the Creation and Manifestation of Reality-theory, the Imago Developmental Stages identified by Harville Hendrix, were integrated, namely Attachment, Exploration, Identity and Competence. The therapeutic modality suggested is de-hypnotising.
The study does not intend to measure the success of the therapy, but rather to establish and test the validity of the Creation and Manifestation of Reality-theory on case studies, using the Life History approach. / Educational Studies / DED(PSYCHOLOGY OF EDUCATION)

Umírání jako příběh (několik řešení) / Dying as a story (several solutions)Kloudová, Daniela January 2017 (has links)
The dissertation aims at showing the differences in dealing with the death issue in characteristic works of art of both Czech and world literature. Above all, it pursues the comparison of two novels Život střídá smrt ("Life Becomes Death") by Petr Prouza and Nebe nemá dno ("Heaven is Bottomless") by Hana Andronikova. Both unique books belong to key Czech novels with the topic of death. Moreover, both of them deal with death from the point of personal experience, which means they are strongly autobiographical. The dissertation concentrates on creative processes and topical aspects, grasps autobiographical elements of both novels and all the identities and differences in the approach to the same topic. Therefore, the dissertation is devoted to listing the works of art dealing with death, further on to the analyses, interpretation and comparison of the novels Život střídá smrt ("Life Becomes Death") and Nebe nemá dno ("Heaven is Bottomless") together with the reflexion of reader's experience.

Jointly Ego Motion and Road Geometry Estimation for Advanced Driver Assistance SystemsAsghar, Jawaria January 2021 (has links)
For several years, there has been a remarkable increase in efforts to develop an autonomous car. Autonomous car systems combine various techniques of recognizing the environment with the help of the sensors and could drastically bring down the number of accidents on road by removing human conduct errors related to driver inattention and poor driving choices. In this research thesis, an algorithm for jointly ego-vehicle motion and road geometry estimation for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) is developed. The measurements are obtained from the inertial sensors, wheel speed sensors, steering wheel angle sensors, and camera. An Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) is used for estimating the states of the non-linear system because UKF estimates the state in a simplified way without using complex computations. The proposed algorithm has been tested on a winding and straight road. The robustness and functioning of our algorithm have been demonstrated by conducting experiments involving the addition of noise to the measurements, reducing the process noise covariance matrix, and increasing the measurement noise covariance matrix and through these tests, we gained more trust in the working of our tracker. For evaluation, each estimated parameter has been compared with the reference signal which shows that the estimated signal matches the reference signal very well in both scenarios. We also compared our joint algorithm with individual ego-vehicle and road geometry algorithms. The results clearly show that better estimates are obtained from our algorithm when estimated jointly instead of estimating separately.

Mirror, Mirror : Embodying the sexed posthuman body of becoming in Sion Sono’s Antiporno (アンチポルノ, 2016) and Mika Ninagawa’s Helter Skelter (ヘルタースケルター, 2012)Hjelm, Zara Luna January 2021 (has links)
This thesis examines the embodiment of the sexed body and the struggle of fitting into the narrow frames of what a woman is supposed to behave and look like in Japanese cinema. Using the medium of film, I, therefore, seek to produce knowledge regarding the internalized gaze of the oppressor, and self-objectification, caused by the capitalist heteropatriarchy. Thus, I am drawing from cyborg feminism, and the second wave of sexual difference theory’s concept of becoming, expanded upon by the Italian-Australian philosopher Rosi Braidotti. I further use the French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu’s notion of masculine domination and the American philosopher Gayle Rubin’s charmed circle, in creating a theoretical framework, and using the methods of cultural and feminist film analysis to contextualize the films and locate the subjectification of the women. The movies that I will be analyzing are the Japanese director and poet Sion Sono’s Antiporno (アンチポルノ, 2016) and the Japanese director and photographer Mika Ninagawa’s Helter Skelter (ヘルタースケルター, 2012), which both center around two women and their struggle in becoming-cyborg, in relation to power, trauma, sexuality, technology, and beauty ideals in ‘modernized’ Japan. In that sense, I will study the phenomenon of operating outside the lines of social norms of femininity and desire.

Ihr Inhalt stellt all das in Frage, was Lukian bisher selbstverständlich erschien.

SubjektMeißner, Hanna 25 April 2017 (has links)

DRONAR: Obstacle echolocation using ego-noise / DRONAR: Egenljudsekolokalisering av hinderNilsson, Henrik January 2023 (has links)
You do not want your drone to crash. Therefore, safety systems should be put in place to prevent such an event, and obstacle avoidance is a major part of this. Today, the most successful techniques use cameras or light detection and ranging (LIDAR) to find and avoid obstacles; but to improve resiliency, multiple systems should be used. This thesis proposes to use microphones, listening to the drone’s own noise, to estimate the distance to surrounding obstacles. An obstacle echolocation solution for multi-rotor aerial vehicles (MAVs) using ego-noise is developed. The MAV’s noise is captured and auto-correlated to detect echoes at different time delays. This signal is whitened to remove structured measurement noise resulting from the narrow-band components of the MAV’s noise. By recording the MAV’s noise using multiple microphones, a time of arrival (TOA) estimate of the obstacle position is achieved. A beamforming-based solution is used to calculate this estimate. A series of simplified proof-of-concept experiments show that ego-noise echolocation is possible and that the developed solution works in a controlled environment. A prototype implementation of a realistic system is also created. Four signal fusion alternatives are compared, though no best alternative is found for all situations. More work is needed to apply the findings of this work in a robust way, but the principle is shown to work.

Alzheimer's Disease Narratives and the Myth of Human BeingRieske, Tegan Echo 11 December 2012 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / The ‘loss of self’ trope is a pervasive shorthand for the prototypical process of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in the popular imagination. Turned into an effect of disease, the disappearance of the self accommodates a biomedical story of progressive deterioration and the further medicalization of AD, a process which has been storied as an organic pathology affecting the brain or, more recently, a matter of genetic calamity. This biomedical discourse of AD provides a generic framework for the disease and is reproduced in its illness narratives. The disappearance of self is a mythic element in AD narratives; it necessarily assumes the existence of a singular and coherent entity which, from the outside, can be counted as both belonging to and representing an individual person. The loss of self, as the rhetorical locus of AD narrative, limits the privatization of the experience and reinscribes cultural storylines---storylines about what it means to be a human person. The loss of self as it occurs in AD narratives functions most effectively in reasserting the presence of the human self, in contrast to an anonymous, inhuman nonself; as AD discourse details a loss of self, it necessarily follows that the thing which is lost (the self) always already existed. The private, narrative self of individual experience thus functions as proxy to a collective human identity predicated upon exceptionalism: an escape from nature and the conditions of the corporeal environment.

Efficient Sequential Sampling for Neural Network-based Surrogate ModelingPavankumar Channabasa Koratikere (15353788) 27 April 2023 (has links)
<p>Gaussian Process Regression (GPR) is a widely used surrogate model in efficient global optimization (EGO) due to its capability to provide uncertainty estimates in the prediction. The cost of creating a GPR model for large data sets is high. On the other hand, neural network (NN) models scale better compared to GPR as the number of samples increase. Unfortunately, the uncertainty estimates for NN prediction are not readily available. In this work, a scalable algorithm is developed for EGO using NN-based prediction and uncertainty (EGONN). Initially, two different NNs are created using two different data sets. The first NN models the output based on the input values in the first data set while the second NN models the prediction error of the first NN using the second data set. The next infill point is added to the first data set based on criteria like expected improvement or prediction uncertainty. EGONN is demonstrated on the optimization of the Forrester function and a constrained Branin function and is compared with EGO. The convergence criteria is based on the maximum number of infill points in both cases. The algorithm is able to reach the optimum point within the given budget. The EGONN is extended to handle constraints explicitly and is utilized for aerodynamic shape optimization of the RAE 2822 airfoil in transonic viscous flow at a free-stream Mach number of 0.734 and a Reynolds number of 6.5 million. The results obtained from EGONN are compared with the results from gradient-based optimization (GBO) using adjoints. The optimum shape obtained from EGONN is comparable to the shape obtained from GBO and is able to eliminate the shock. The drag coefficient is reduced from 200 drag counts to 114 and is close to 110 drag counts obtained from GBO. The EGONN is also extended to handle uncertainty quantification (uqEGONN) using prediction uncertainty as an infill method. The convergence criteria is based on the relative change of summary statistics such as mean and standard deviation of an uncertain quantity. The uqEGONN is tested on Ishigami function with an initial sample size of 100 samples and the algorithm terminates after 70 infill points. The statistics obtained from uqEGONN (using only 170 function evaluations) are close to the values obtained from directly evaluating the function one million times. uqEGONN is demonstrated on to quantifying the uncertainty in the airfoil performance due to geometric variations. The algorithm terminates within 100 computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analyses and the statistics obtained from the algorithm are close to the one obtained from 1000 direct CFD based evaluations.</p>
