The effect of introducing enterprise resource planning on the scope of the application of managerial accounting information-centered on a manufacturer of sports outfitKuo, Yi-Miao 30 June 2003 (has links)
Abstract
In the wake of diversification and rapid changes in market needs, corporations have to deal with ever increasingly strict demands imposed by both customers and competitors that concern prompt supply, complicatedness in manufacturing technology, life cycle of product, and competition from within the industry. To be able to respond without any delay, consolidate their organization, and take control of operation so as to gain the ultimate advantage in competition, local small businesses must have access to a complete set of managerial accounting information that can constantly reflect the operation of each process and the correctness of information, provide strategic basis for decision making, and provide a mechanism for forecasts and advance warnings. However, selecting a set of electronic tool software that is suitable to a business is more important than anything else in gaining advantage in competition. For the present, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is considered the most viable software that can integrate the internal processes of a business to effect business reengineering and connect with suppliers and consumers to achieve electronic information flow for the system. ERP is an integrative system that has been widely implemented in recent years. It has an outstanding purpose: to help plan and manage enterprise resources in an all-inclusive and integrative manner so that the business can achieve high operating efficiency and immediate improvement, reconstruct its strategic advantages, and reorganize and restart itself.
It deserves our investigation whether managerial accounting information can, through the effective application of ERP system, provide corporations with prompt evaluations and make decisions for them and bring about tangible benefits in management. Therefore, this research has defined the major purposes that follow:
1. Pertinent information obtained by local small businesses when they initiate ERP can be subsequently used as the basis for evaluations when others initiate local small businesses.
2. Local small businesses, in implementing ERP, find reasonable analysis or solutions for difficulties they encounter, which will enable other businesses in the future that initiate ERP to reduce possibility of making mistakes and costs by planning in advance and taking preventing measures.
3. Understand how ERP after being initiated by local small businesses help accounting personnel enhance their functions in making spreadsheets and carrying out accounting control, and elevate their analytical skill.
4. Understand that after being initiated into local small businesses, ERP can enable managerial accounting information to bring up effectiveness to users or managers.
This research, using case corporations as the subjects of study, was designed to understand the impact of ERP after being initiated on the degree of application of managerial accounting information. As to research design, literature review provided theoretical foundation. Methodology of taking grounded theory, part of qualitative research, was taken to understand the actual meaning of background environment of these corporations. Based on the nature of facts, data were collected, summarized and analyzed through questionnaire survey an case depth interview, to find out how a case corporation is related with managerial accounting information before and after it initiates ERP and to discover the support and impact given by an enterprise after it obtains managerial accounting information. The aspects of such an impact can be used by this corporation to improve or adjust its operation and provide corporations that have not initiated ERP or decided to initiate ERP with self inspection and suggestions to shorten the time frame for initiating ERP, reduce wastes on resources, ensure the effectiveness of using managerial accounting information, gain access to more opportunities so as to ensure perennial existence and create competitive edge for the corporation.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Customer Relationship Management ModelChi-Tse, Lu 14 January 2008 (has links)
In recent years, owing to the network, the information science and technology, and the telecommunications industry¡¦s popularization, make the interaction between the enterprise and customer more frequent. The more rigid marketing to customer, the higher quality of product and service can be applied to the customer request. How to dig the high profit rate customer in the general customer group, and maintain good the interaction relationship among the customers, and detain the customers who already has, then becomes a key factor to adopt the Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
In this research, we find that most CRM literature focused on the case study, or adopted the key factor discussion and the theory of CRM elaboration. The main purpose of our research is to define and develop an Architecture-Oriented Customer Relationship Management Model (AOCRMM). This model provides the information and the way of construction of CRM, so the entire construction of CRM can be easily understood. In this model, the sufficient defines structure element, service of structure element, and behavior. By unifying structure viewpoints, behavior viewpoints, and resources viewpoints, we then construct the structure behavior coalescence for a CRM system.
We conclude that AOCRMM, being an integration model, enables enterprise organization, IT system, internal business processes, etc. to be a single interface to customers. Also AOCRMM makes the organization behavior be presented easily the resources be used effortlessly, and have a good communication effect of organization and external environment.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Court Affairs Management ModelChou, Hsien-hui 16 June 2009 (has links)
For all business process reengineering (BPR) projects, the failure rate is up to 70%. Checking over the reasons that cause the projects to fail, the major unsuccessful factor of BPR resulting from that process-oriented aspect is concerning too much about efficiency and technology, ignoring the related subjects of organizational structures and agents. Most of all, it lacks an integrated solution for both structures and behaviors in an organization. That is, so far there is no research to study the coherent affection caused by business reengineering for both organizational structures and organizational behaviors.
This thesis aims to develop an Architecture-Oriented model for the court affairs management. In this model, structure elements, services, and interaction flow for court affairs management are well defined. Adopting this model, officers can understand the entire picture of the court more easily and collect the essential information for organizational structures and organizational behaviors more effortlessly.
Architecture-Oriented Court Affairs Management Model, abbreviated as AOCAMM, extremely depends on the theory and method of enterprise architecture. Using the structure behavior coalescence approach embedded in AOCAMM, we are able to describe working situations of organization, business processes, and information systems clearly enough to reduce business reengineering risks. The major achievement of this research is to advise a contemporary methodology for better planning and managing government reengineering projects.

Study on Architecture-Oriented Enterprise Resource Management ModelChen, Hui-li 27 June 2009 (has links)
Enterprise resources include organization departments and information systems Enterprise resource management examines resources owned by an enterprise and develops competitive advantages for an enterprise.
This research comes out with architecture-oriented enterprise resource management model, abbreviated as AOERMM, to describe all enterprise value chains occurring from the organization departments and information systems within an enterprise. In a value chain, there are ¡§primary activities¡¨ and ¡§supportive activities.¡¨ AOERMM is an integrated model which is able to present all business views. Most importantly, an enterprise¡¦s profit depends on its performing these activities efficiently. AOERMM must meet customer requirement and firm-strategy to build up all business activities.
AOERMM uses six golden rules such as architecture hierarchy diagram, structure element diagram, structure element service diagram, structure element connection diagram, structure behavior coalescence diagram, and interaction flow diagram to build up the enterprise resource management architecture. With AOERMM, we can easily and quickly conquer any challenge forthcoming from the market. Therefore, process-oriented is out of date. Architecture-oriented is on the rise for tomorrow¡¦s enterprise resource management.

The Impact Factors on Enterprise 2.0 Adoption: Based on Value-based Adoption ModelLee, Chieh-Kuan 03 August 2009 (has links)
Enterprise 2.0 has become popular in firms. Many Enterprise 2.0 researchers and practitioners have recognized the importance of benefits and costs in using Enterprise 2.0 by individuals. However, their effects on adoption intention in enterprise contexts are not discussed. To investigate this issue, we proposed a model to understand the intention to adopt Enterprise 2.0. Three factors are identified based on value-based adoption model (VAM), namely perceived benefits, perceived costs, and perceived value. An empirical survey was conducted to collect data. 500 samples were collected within 18 days. Of which 150 was valid. This yielded a response rate of 30%. Partial Least Squares (PLS) was used to analyze the data and verify the model. The result showed that perceived value not only played an important role in mediating the relationship between perceived benefits and costs, and adoption intention but it also exerted a significant effect on intention to adopt Enterprise 2.0. Moreover, we identified major factors that may affect perceived value. We find that both perceived benefits and perceived costs have significant impacts on perceived value, and cause intention to adopt Enterprise 2.0. Implications of such finding are discussed.
