This proposal is to investigate the football. However, realizing this phenomenon related to the issue of professional projection, considering that football in Brazil is a project of life for many young people and their families. Although this work presents professional football as a starting point, the focus of research is not professional sports and high level performance. The proposal is directed to the moment of transition between amateur football and professional football. Focus will be on the way in which children become professionals in the called “world of the ball”. From the trajectories of young athletes, this work attempts to present the nuances in the production of soccer players to the market of the ball. The survey was conducted in Auto Esporte Clube, college sports located in João Pessoa-PB. The methodology used for data collection was by conducting a qualitative study, based on the use of individual interviews and using the voice recorder and direct observation with a view to better understand and perceive the environment formed in the athletes. / A relação entre esporte e sociedade constitui-se em um tema de enorme relevância para os estudos das ciências sociais. Esta proposta consiste em investigar o futebol. Porém, percebendo este fenômeno relacionado com a questão de projeção profissional, considerando que o futebol no Brasil representa um projeto de vida para muitos jovens e suas respectivas famílias. Embora este trabalho apresente o futebol profissional como ponto de partida, o enfoque da pesquisa não será o esporte profissional de alto nível e rendimento. A proposta está direcionada para o momento de transição entre o futebol amador e o futebol profissional. Concentrar-se-á no percurso em que meninos transformam-se em profissionais do chamado mundo da bola. A partir das trajetórias de jovens atletas este trabalho tenta apresentar as nuance presentes no processo de produção de jogadores de futebol ao mercado da bola. A pesquisa foi realizada no Auto Esporte Clube, agremiação esportiva localizada em João Pessoa-PB. A metodologia utilizada para a coleta dos dados foi através da realização de uma pesquisa de caráter qualitativo, com base na utilização de entrevistas em profundidade e individuais com a utilização de gravador de voz e da observação direta, na perspectiva de conhecer melhor e perceber o ambiente em que se formam os atletas.
