Idle And Dangerous: Vagrancy Policy In Reconstruction New Orleans, 1863-186

January 2016 (has links)
The paper explores the dynamics and moral economy surrounding vagrancy mass arrests in New Orleans following the Civil War. More broadly, the paper interrogates the dynamics between race, labor, class, and constructions of criminality. / John Bardes
