The aim is to confirm or refute the hypothesis, which say that higher investment costs for the construction of low energy buildings could reduce costs and family budgets in the future. They also lead to higher liquidity.

Assessing participation of small fishing companies in the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA): identifying fault lines and potential responses to increase participationAlexander, Malcolm Charles January 2019 (has links)
>Magister Scientiae - MSc / The study focusses on the transport sector, where company participation level is
measured at approximately 20% of levy paying enterprises, and this level is mostly
based on relatively high levels of participation from large and medium sized
companies. The study explores the relationship between SETAs (sector education
training authorities) and the companies within the sectors they are mandated to
serve by researching the TETA maritime sub sector. The research focus is on small
companies and the focus is specifically on the low rate of participation of smaller
entities in the skills development landscape. The consequences of the lack of
participation are investigated and the study concludes that the SETAs ability to
effectively research its sector skills, as well as the SETAs ability to provide
effective skills planning in support of the national agenda, are both negatively
affected by current levels of poor participation. The research was conducted on
small fishing companies registered with the Transport Education and Training
Authority (TETA), in order to determine the reasons for low participation in the
government mandatory grant scheme. The research is survey based across
participating small companies and non-participating small companies.

From the methodological point of view, a qualitative approach and design of a case study are employed. The thesis also points out the relation of street-level bureaucrats to applicants/beneficiaries and explains the reasons why eligible applicants do not request support through simplified projects. In order to accomplish the set research goals and questions, in-depth interviews were conducted with primary school principals, administrators of the considered operational programmes, a representative of the municipal district, and an expert on subsidies for schools. Within the last part of the thesis, recommendations for the creators of relevant calls for their possible modification and recommendations for other principals of primary schools are proposed in order to facilitate the implementation of simplified projects. From the theoretical perspective, the diploma thesis is based on four theories that frame...

Social disorganization theory and crime rates on California community college campusesRavalin, Tamara M. 01 January 2014 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of social structure and community organization factors on campus crime on California community college campuses. The study utilized social disorganization theory to examine those relationships by aggregating data from the 113 campuses that are required to submit data on an annual basis to state and federal agencies. Crime data from the 2011 Clery report was separated into personal crimes and property crimes as reported by the California community college campuses. Correlation analysis was used for the non-categorical social structure and community organization factors. Those factors which demonstrated a statistical relationship with personal or property crimes were then regressed to further analyze the data. The relationships of categorical social structure and community organization factors with personal and property crimes were studied using analysis of variance. The results demonstrated that most of the social structure and community organization variables did not have a statistically significant relationship with personal or property crimes. However, the percentage of students receiving general financial aid in the form of Pell Grants demonstrated a strong relationship with an increase in both personal and property crimes. Additionally, an increase in the ratio of part-time to full-time faculty members demonstrated an increase in property crime on campus. The findings indicate that students on campuses with a high percentage of Pell Grant recipients are likely to be impacted by crime in some manner and that campuses with a large percentage of Pell Grant recipients need to consider additional supports and interventions to protect students from crime on campus. The findings also demonstrate that hiring a large percentage of part-time instructors may be counterproductive to preventing campus crime.
