”Vänta… vart ska jag?” : En studie i vägledning på vårdcentraler

Denna studie är ett examensarbete i informationsdesign med inriktningen rumslig gestaltning. Syftet med arbetet har varit att förtydliga orienterbarheten och underlätta för patienter att navigera på vårdcentraler. Målet har varit att skapa ett gestaltningsförslag med visuell koppling som vägleder patienter mellan olika rum. Utgångspunkten för arbetet har varit i ett par väntrum på vårdcentralen City i Eskilstuna, där patienter har svårt att förstå vägledningssystemet.  Metoder som observationer, platsanalys, notation och intervjuer har genomförts och skapat en förståelse för patienters upplevelse av platsen. Genom metoderna har brister inom rumsutformning, placeringar, färger och former kunnat identifierats. Litteraturstudier om wayfinding, wayshowing, kognitiva aspekter, färgkodning, färger och det fysiska rummet har tillsammans med resultat från metoderna legat till grund för gestaltningsförslaget. Gestaltningsförslaget bygger på att rummet öppnats upp så att tydlig vägledning kunnat skapas, vilket är en förutsättning för att patienterna ska kunna hitta på platsen. / This study is a thesis in information design with emphasis on spatial design. The aim of this study has been to clarify orientation and to facilitate navigation for patients in health centers. The goal was to create a design proposal with visual connection to guide patients between rooms. The starting point for this work was two waiting rooms at the health center vårdcentralen City in Eskilstuna, where patients have difficulty understanding the wayshowing system. A greater understanding of patients' experience of the place was created through methods such as observations, site analysis, notations and interviews. The methods have identified shortcomings within the room layout, placement, color and shape. Underlying the design proposal are the results from the methods and literature studies of wayfinding, wayshowing, cognitive aspects, color-coding, colors and physical space. The findings show that navigation at the site can be improved by opening up the room, thereby creating a good wayshowing.

A Descriptive Study of the Trend of Contraceptive Services Available to College Students

This study investigated the perceptions of college student health center administrators concerning the availability of contraceptive services to college students. The major purposes of the study were (1) to determine the extent to which specific contraceptive services were available to college students from various sources, (2) to determine the extent and effectiveness of any opposition or support from various pressure groups concerning the provision of contraceptive services by student health centers, and (3) to describe the trend, as .perceived by student health center directors, of student access to contraceptive services from 1970 to 1975 and to project the trend to 1980. The findings indicated that pressure activity supporting the provision of contraceptive services by student health centers arose mostly from institutionally related student groups and was considered to be "effective" (i.e., influenced administrative decision making). Pressure which arose from other groups was found to be slight and of little effectiveness.

An Outcome Evaluation of the Feminist Women’s Health Center’s: Young Women’s Leadership Program

Program Description As a part of the community education branch of the Feminist Women’s Health Center (FWHC), there is a leadership & advocacy training program for young women called the Young Women’s Leadership Program. This project was developed in 1999 at the FWHC as a way to connect young women from all walks of life to different communities and prepare them for reproductive justice activism, advocacy, and organizational leadership. Through this program, young women will have the opportunity to develop invaluable skills that include: how to advocate for social justice and women’s rights, how to plan events and recruit new activists, and empowerment through volunteering. The Young Women’s Leadership Program has expanded to the Latina community of Atlanta as well as the African American community. Since inception, over 2,200 young women have graduated from the YWLP program (“Young Women’s Leadership Project”, n.d.). The end result of the YWLP is for the participants to take on leadership roles and to participate actively in the community as well as operate as a board member on a committee at the FWHC. Evaluation Questions Three main questions were posed in order to perform an outcome evaluation of the Young Women’s Leadership Program. These questions coincided with the agenda of the Program Coordinator because the current goal is to regain external funding for the program. Proof of the success of the program through the outcome evaluation would be helpful in meeting that goal. Through the activities of the program, did participants feel that their knowledge of reproductive rights and justice was increased? i. Was volunteer orientation valuable in increasing participant’s knowledge of reproductive health, rights, and justice for women? Did the participants find the advocacy activities of the program valuable in increasing their advocacy skills? Did the participants find the leadership activities of the program valuable in developing their leadership skills? i. Did any of the program participant’s progress to Tier III leadership roles within the Feminist Women’s Health Center? If so, in what capacity? Summary of Results To summarize the findings of the evaluation results, a majority of the program participants did have the perception that five of the Young Women’s Leadership Program activities did increase their knowledge of reproductive health, rights, and justice. Specifically, volunteer orientation and FOCUS: Reproductive Justice Advocacy workshop seemed to have the largest response rates and were favorable towards participants agreeing that their knowledge had increased as a result of the activity. Also, a majority of the participants did agree that 5 out of 6 activities were valuable in increasing their advocacy skills as well as their leadership skills. The evaluation question, “Did any of the program participant’s progress to Tier III leadership roles within the Feminist Women’s Health Center?” returned positive results as there were some 7 participants who moved to Tier III leadership out of 24 participants who responded. In summary, the participants of the Young Women’s Leadership Program, did have a positive perception of the program on increasing the leadership and advocacy skills as well as the knowledge of reproductive health, rights, and justice of the participants surveyed.

Utilization of Depot Fluphenazine and Haloperidol in a Community Mental Health Center: A 12-Month Retrospective Analysis of Compliance, Hospitalization Data, and Cost of Care for Patients with Schizophrenia

Class of 2005 Abstract / Objectives: This retrospective study investigated the relationship between compliance, hospitalizations rates, and cost of care in an outpatient behavioral health facility over a 12-month period for schizophrenic patients treated with depot antipsychotic medications. Methods: Databases from COPE Behavioral Health Center in Tucson, AZ were utilized for administration of depot injections, hospitalizations, and cost of care for patients between July 1, 2003 and June 30, 2004. Results: Records were utilized for 103 patients receiving depot antipsychotics (n = 34 fluphenazine decanoate, n = 69 haloperidol decanoate). Increased number of injections received per year was associated with lower number of hospitalizations per year (p = 0.025 fluphenazine and p = 0.001 haloperidol). Also, increased number of hospitalizations was associated with increased total cost of care (p = 0.001 fluphenazine and p < 0.001 haloperidol). Implications: Patients with schizophrenia who received a greater number of depot antipsychotic injections had a lower number of hospitalizations during a 12-month period. Improved adherence with depot antipsychotics may improve clinical outcomes and reduce the total cost of care in patients with schizophrenia.

Bakgrund: Personer påverkas olika av arbetsstress. Särskilt som ny sjuksköterska kan arbetsstress vara mer påtagligt. En viktig arbetsuppgift som distriktssköterska är att främja patientens hälsa. Då kan ens egen hälsa kan lätt glömmas bort. Motiv: Att gå från sjuksköterska till distriktssköterska kan upplevas som en identitetskris. En av de vanligaste orsakerna till långtidssjukskrivning under 2016-2018 var stress. Därav är det viktigt att belysa arbetsstress hos distriktssköterskan. Syfte: Att undersöka om upplevd självskattad stress var relaterat till hur länge man arbetat som distriktssköterska Metod: En kvantitativ tvärsnittsstudie med ett bekvämlighetsurval. Enkäten som användes var The Work Stress Questionnaire (WSQ), där deltagarna skattade sin upplevelse av stress utifrån deras arbetssituation. 68 enkäter skickades ut till distriktssköterskor i Region Västerbotten. Resultat: Jämförelse har gjorts mellan de som arbetat som distriktssköterska &lt;10 år och ≥10 år. Huvudfynden i studien var att majoriteten av deltagarna upplevde att de trots ökad arbetsbelastning hinner med sina arbetsuppgifter. Många ställer höga krav på sig själv och vissa upplever att de har svårt att säga nej till extra arbetsuppgifter. Konklusion: Arbetsstress upplevs olika från person till person. Att någon arbetat länge som distriktssköterska betyder inte att hen upplever mindre arbetsstress. / Background: People are affected differently by work stress. Especially as a new nurse, work stress can be more noticeable. An important task as a district nurse is to promote the patient's health. Then one's own health can easily be forgotten. Motive: Shifting from being a registered nurse to a community health nurse can be experienced as an identity crisis. One of the most common causes of long-term sick leave during 2016-2018 was stress. Therefore, it is important to highlight the work stress of the community health nurse. Aim: To investigate whether perceived self reported stress was related to how long you worked as a community health nurse Methods: A quantitative cross-sectional study with a convenience sample. The questionnaire used was “The Work Stress Questionnaire” (WSQ),where participants rated their experience of stress based on their work situation. 68 questionnaires were sent out to community health nurses in “Region Västerbotten”. Result: Comparisons have been made between those who worked as district nurses &lt;10 years and ≥10 years. The main findings of this study were that the majority of the participants felt that despite increased workload, they had time for their tasks. Many place high demands on themselves and some find it difficult to say no to extra work tasks. Conclusion: Work stress is experienced differently from person to person. The fact that someone has worked for a long time as a community health nurse does not mean that they experience less work stress.

This thesis has been prepared as urban study of social center residential complex in Brno - Lesná. I tis a lociation which wasn´t copleted during the construction of settlements Lesná already been completed. The main objective of the study is to verify the territorial land use options that already has an earlier era of the proposed basic services and building structure and contains values that should be respected. The priority of the proposal was to amend the pedestrian routes territory and reach their easy access. It passes through the center of the site Okružní Street, which divides the northern and southern parts. Original Halasovo Square lies to the north of this large area. Therefore, it was due to the availability and optimization of facilities proposed new territory south sguare with commercial and cultural center. Furthermore solved territory is divided into four areas. Each of them are concentrated in the vicinity of some of the surviving buildings (preserved objects - Albert shop and pool together sports hall TJ Tesla Brno, Lesná Clinic, Lidl shop, building society as Vema). Proposal limits sports and recreational areas, and places new buildings for public facilities and housing.
