The current dissertation intends to analyze what are the associations between fashion speeches disseminated in the press and the production of female stereotypes, from 1960 to 1970, in Rio Grande do Sul. For that, I analyzed the fashion columns published in the newspaper Correio do Povo and in the magazine Revista do Globo during this period, along with photographs published in these means and also those that highlight Porto Alegre’s everyday life. Through these sources, it is meant to show the main fashion trends spread by these means of communication and how they relate with the time’s ideals of femininity. It was intended to understand in which way the speeches of fashion system acted in the maintenance of gender stereotypes and also in the purpose of new ideas of femininity. As a result, it is possible to observe that these vehicles opted by publishing fashion trends related to the controlled behavior of women, associated with elegance, keeping away from their publications suggestions that could present more liberal kinds of body and behavior movements.

O Lugar, a presença e o tratamento dado às mulheres no livro didático da EJA: espaço negado, espaço reivindicado / The place, the presence and treatment given to women in the texbook of EJA: denied place, place required

Costa, Dalva de Oliveira 31 August 2011 (has links)
This study examined the treatment given to women in Textbook (LD) of Youth and Adults (EJA) and the legal system consisting of CF/1988 by LDBEN 9.394/96 and the PNE/2001, by the CNE / CEB / 2000 and the Hamburg Declaration: Agenda for the Future guiding public policy education for the area. Its relevance lies in its dual perspective: the withdrawal of the invisibility of women and the announcement of the visibility and appreciation of them. As for the methodological approach, this work fits the paradigm of qualitative research, whose analysis of the legal framework was performed using the technique of document analysis and content analysis. The analysis of the GT was based on the methodology recommended by the sociologist, researcher at the Centre Nationalde Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) of France, Andrée Michel in his book: "No stereotypes!: Overcoming sexism in children/s books and textbooks" . The survey results indicate that although the CF/88 represent a significant advance both in terms EJA, for equality of rights and duties between men and women, these advances are minimally maintained in the aforementioned corporate planning and even ignored in all of its operation, since when analyzing Chapter II The Basic Education - Section V - for Youth and Adults of LDBEN/96, it appears that there is a silence on the issue of gender on women. We come to the conclusion that this silencing is due to the removal of rights policy effected by the federal government, the neo-liberal orientation that through constitutional amendments, decrees and provisional measures, intervened in the process of processing and approval of LDBEN/96 and PNE/2001 of changing the CF/98, and this law has adapted to the dictates of the World Bank.

Descobrindo a Chácara e a Charqueada, pela arqueologia pública / Uncovering the Chácara and the Charqueada, through public archaeology

Silva, Bruno Sanches Ranzani da 17 October 2017 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyze the relationship between local and archaeological expertise in the construction of knowledge about the past, using an ethnographic method, and based on the concepts of public archeology and archaeological heritage. As a case study, I chose the archaeological site of \"Charqueada Santa Bárbara\", a fragment of an old plantation of charque production (jerked beaf) of the same name, in Pelotas/RS/Brazil. My research was associated to the project The Pampa Negro: Archeology of slavery in the southern region of Rio Grande do Sul (1780-1888), coordinated by Lucio Menezes Ferreira. Among so many themes identified by ethnography, I chose to talk about the history of women in Chácara Santa Bárbara. As tools of analysis, I followed the path of five particular concepts: social representation, memory, landscape, narrative, and agency. As a result, I advocate three essential points. First, public archeology must remain a branch of discipline concerned with producing critical knowledge about the past and an engaged political stance in the present while disallowing itself to be absorbed by marketing strategies. Second, heritage is a State category for space and social memory management. As such, it is not analogous to the affective relations developed between persons and things. Nonetheless, it gives archeology the power to help define social conditions and stories that will be represented in the archaeological heritage, and we must use that power to show critical and socially responsible versions of the past. Finally, according to these premises, I tried to produce a recent historical narrative about the residents who still live at Charqueada Santa Bárbara. For that, I analyzed their daily material culture, which were more representative of their life stories, and of more critical pictures of Pelotas\' past.

Between stages and pages: womens written production about music in the history of musical education in Brazil (1907-1958).

Igayara-Souza, Susana Cecilia Almeida 02 May 2011 (has links)
Historical study that aims to situate and analyze the written production of women about music, related to several educational contexts in Brazil, during the first five decades of the 20th century. The first chapter is devoted to an overview of the production about music written by women. Chapter 2 analyzes the first decades and establishes a discussion about the representations of Brazilian and European music in music education. Chapter 3 is about music in formal school and the participation of women in canto orfeônico (school choir singing), analyzing the process of institutionalization and schooling of music and the role of hymnal, songbook and didactic book publishing in the process. Chapter 4 focuses on teachers training and the escola nova (new school) pedagogy, emphasizing the conflicts in the historiography and in the practice of canto orfeônico (school choir singing). Chapter 5 concentrates on artistic training, with focus on specialized teaching, the presence of women in artistic activity and the representations about the feminine. Three examples of written production are analyzed, as devices of inscription in the musical field. In the final considerations, the function of memory (both individual and collective) is discussed, inasmuch as its relation to practices and representations of female music educators (in their multiple roles). The main notions and concepts used are: field (specially artistic field), habitus, doxa, and cultural capital by Pierre Bourdieu; practices, representations and appropriation by Roger Chartier, as well as his methodological discussion (on the history of the book and the history or reading) and theoretical (on written culture); strategies and tactics by Michel de Certeau, as well as his analysis of the historiographical operation. The concept of gender, employed by numerous authors, allowed for a discussion of womens written production as a whole, in a relational manner. For the history of women, our main reference was Michelle Perrot. Academic production on the history of education, mainly the Brazilian one, facilitated the definition and exploration of the subject, as well as recent musicological research. One of the results of this investigation was an inventory of published books (46 authors and 100 works), with the identification of publishers, educational institutions and of the themes and modalities of music teaching that were current at the first half of the 20th century in Brazil. As part of the conclusions, the written production about music is seen as intrinsic to the teaching profession, used as strategy of both professional and personal valorization. The practices of reading and writing (of text and music) were acquired in the school environment, in the social space of the family and in the artistic training institutions. Diverse processes of publishing are detectable, such as: individual initiative of the authors; editorial projects, including those sponsored by state or federal governments; institutional programs for the provision of didactic material adapted to legal obligations; formal requirements to start a university teaching career.
