Koučování jako nástroj vedení lidí / Coaching as a tool for leading people

Pohorská, Linda January 2012 (has links)
2 Abstract This thesis submitted focuses on coaching as a style of leading people. The thesis analyzes the fundamental principles and tools of professional coaching which are subsequently interpreted from the perspective of their possible use in managerial practice with all benefits and potential difficulties. Due to its specificity, I deal with the role of the manager-coach as well. Given the focus of the thesis, I first dealt with the definition of coaching as such without any detailed specification, and with its possible use. I used the gained information for defining the managerial coaching in the context of leading people. In the second chapter I concentrated on coach and manager-coach as a person, their characteristics and competence which are necessary for coaching. In the third and fourth chapter I mainly dealt with coaching tools and their use in managerial practice. Finally, the thesis compares the results of an international research with the author's questionnaire survey, from the viewpoint of the use of coaching in organizations in the Czech Republic and world scale. Key words: coaching, leading people, managerial coaching, self-development, coaching techniques, potential.

An Investigation Into the Validity of Asynchronous Web-Based Video Employment Interview Ratings

Gorman, C. Allen, Robinson, Jim, Gamble, Jason S. 01 June 2018 (has links)
Drawing from Huffcutt, Conway, Roth, and Stone’s (2001) taxonomy of employment-interview constructs, we hypothesized that asynchronous web-based video employment interviews would be associated with job performance and organizational tenure using a crowd-sourced sample of 75 employed professionals. We found that composite interview ratings and construct ratings of mental capability, knowledge and skills, applied social skills, and conscientiousness were significantly related to self-rated job performance. We also found that construct ratings of knowledge and skills and applied social skills were significantly associated with self-reported organizational tenure. Implications for web-based video employment-interview research and practice are discussed.

Exploring Strategies for Implementing Barcode Medication Administration Systems

Frederick, Julie A. 01 January 2015 (has links)
The number of medication errors associated with preventable deaths in healthcare facilities remains at a high rate for healthcare leaders. Practices of medication delivery remain similar to those 10 years ago. Hospitals that have implemented barcoding medication administration systems have reported a decrease in medication errors ranging from 60% to as high as 93%. Despite this utility of barcoding, only 50% of U.S. hospitals have implemented barcode medication administration. This comparative case study explored the strategies hospital leaders used to implement barcode medication administration systems, utilizing the sociotechnical theory for a conceptual framework. Face-to-face, semistructured interviews were used to identify experiences from a purposive sample of 20 hospital leaders from Minnesota and Iowa. The research question guiding this study addressed strategies hospital leaders used to implement barcode medication systems to reduce preventable medical errors. After analyzing the interview transcripts using inductive analyses, 4 themes emerged. These themes include the strategic organizational communication, technology and end user support, hands-on training, and application of audit reports. Hospital leaders might benefit from the study findings when developing strategies to implement barcode medication systems. The implication for positive social change includes the potential of decreasing patient medication errors and reducing loss of life caused by medication errors with hospital leaders accelerating the adoption of barcode medication systems in hospitals. Other health care providers may explore how the findings might help reduce medication errors in their facilities.

A Case Study of Forensic Interviewing of Antisocial Personality Disorder Diagnosed Inmates

Bressler, Markus Michael 01 January 2019 (has links)
Interview strategies applied in adult criminal justice settings focus on the interviewer and concentrate on obtaining information for the courts, while simultaneously neglecting a forensic understanding of interviewees, including the interviewee's decision-making and behavioral health impairments. As a consequence, there is a deficiency of evidence-based research regarding interview practices with persons diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). Using social control and neutralization theories as the foundation, the purpose of this case study of a single justice system in the United States was to better understand the perspectives and experiences of ASPD diagnosed inmates (n =5) compared to incarcerated participants without any mental health diagnosis (n =5) regarding willingness to cooperate with the interviewer. Interview data were triangulated with the Gudjonsson Confession Questionnaire – Revised. Data were inductively coded and then subjected to a thematic analysis procedure. Results indicate that external and internal pressures, intoxication, perception of proof, involvement of third parties, and/or a lack of insight into diagnostic features of ASPD influenced decisions to cooperate with an interviewer, thereby impacting the quality of interview results. The positive social change implications of this study include recommendations to criminal justice systems to explore holistic interview strategies that may improve interview outcomes. Adhering to this recommendation may improve the quality of interviews and ensure that justice system objectives related to truthfulness and accuracy are enhanced as well as improve mental health outcomes of criminal offenders.

我國現行公務人員考試方式改進之研究─以口試為例 / The Study of Improvement Selection Methods of the Republic of China Civic Service ── The Case of Oral Test

方秀雀, Fang, Chiow-Chiueh Unknown Date (has links)
