Model-driven Alignment : Linking Business Strategy with Information SystemsGiannoulis, Constantinos January 2014 (has links)
Information technology (IT) is more pervasive than ever before, constituting a significant factor for performance and survival in the business arena. It is essential that IT within organizations understands what the Business needs in order to provide the necessary support and bring value, which is also true when IT is also the main value creator. Therefore, alignment between the Business and IT within organizations is an issue of great concern and it is still open for solvency both for business and IT executives and practitioners. This work is scoped to the alignment linkage between business strategy and information systems (IS), where business strategy typically constitutes the primary exponent of the Business and IS typically encapsulates the elements of IT sustaining an organization. Current approaches are either focused on detailed aspects of IS and treat business strategy abstractly or use distinct business strategy formulations (e.g. Value Chain) but deal with IS only partially. This is problematic because the abstract use of business strategy hinders traceability of strategic intentions and initiatives towards features/aspects of IS, which are aimed to actualize and support such intentions. Because approaches using distinct business strategy formulations are not relevant to all organizations and are limited only to the IS aspects addressed. Introducing a model-driven approach for the alignment linkage is aimed at addressing the outlined shortcomings. Following a design science research paradigm, the main artifact developed is the Unified Business Strategy Meta-Model (UBSMM), which is based on conceptualizing established business strategy formulations (e.g. Value Chain) and integrating them. UBSMM supports mappings to IS models used in organizations, such as IS requirements, enterprise models and enterprise architecture, and provides unambiguous utilization of business strategy for the alignment linkage. Contributions of this thesis are grounded both on the process of building UBSMM and mapping to IS models, as well as the artifact itself. Conceptualizing and integrating business strategy formulations provides a less ambiguous and unified view of strategic concepts. This limits variations in interpretation and reinforces mappings to IS models, which are defined based on inter-schema properties across models. Therefore, UBSMM can link business strategy to IS models enhancing their communication in a traceable manner, ergo, support alignment. / <p>At the time of the doctoral defense, the following papers were unpublished and had a status as follows: Paper 10: Submitted. Kompiuterizuotos darbo vietos funkcionalumo specifikavimo modelis / Model of computerised workspace functionality specificationMisevičiūtė, Birutė 28 May 2004 (has links)
The workspace design is usually treated as a part of the user interface design without paying a lot of attention to a workspace design. Such approach works rather well when small IS, which consists of tens of functions and only few actors, is being designed. However, in such case finding optimal and fast solutions can become problematic when IS workspace is being designed for large scale IS. The purpose of this work is to present a model of computerised workspace functionality specification, using information flows specification. The creation of workspace structure is based on function hierarchy model. After making analysis of computerized workspace design and functions modeling, the function hierarchy modeling technique and process of building computerized workspace should be presented, implemented and verified. Also the CASE tool for function modeling and structure of workspace design is described.

Komponentinis IS modelio transformavimas / Component based IS model transformationGurgždys, Virgilijus 19 January 2007 (has links)
The traditional approaches to engineering of information systems focus on identifying business requirements and delivering the specific functionality required to automate some activities. Not enough attention is being attached to how the created system will interact with the rest of the business. As a result, there is often a gap between the business requirements and the systems implemented to support them. To bridge this gap, many organizations are developing enterprise architecture to provide a holistic vision of how systems will support their business.
Model-driven architecture (MDA) focuses on modelling activities in software development process and shifts the software development process from the writing code to the modelling activities. MDA separates the business level from the technological platform which implements information system. The key feature of the model-driven architecture is its ability to transform automatically the platform-independent model (PIM) into the platform-specific model (PSM). MDA uses modelling languages as programming languages
Using interface-based programming is the evolution of the object-oriented programming and design. The interfaces have made the software design more adaptable to the rapid changes of the business environment. While using interfaces, software systems achieve reusability, extensibility and maintainability.
The CBD approaches use the interface-based design idea and therefore have advantages such as more effective... [to full text]

Psichikos sveikatos priežiūros organizavimo Anykščių ir Utenos rajonuose lyginamoji analizė / Comparative analysis of organization of supervision of psychological health in Anyksciai and Utena districtsVeršelienė, Sonata 16 August 2007 (has links)
Psichikos sveikatos priežiūros organizavimo Anykščių ir Utenos rajonuose lyginamoji analizė
Santrauka

Išsėtinės sklerozės sukėlimo ir terapijos elektrofiziologinis įvertinimas / Electrophysiological evaluation of induction and therapy of multiple sclerosisStarovoitova, Inga 23 June 2014 (has links)
The aim of this study was to evaluate the induction and therapy of Multiple Sclerosis by means of body weight and electrophysiological parameters. The H/M ratio and weight were evaluated before induction, after, and during therapy of Multiple Sclerosis. The death rate was evaluated also. 32 burgundy rabbits, divided into 5 groups were used in experiment that lasted 16 weeks. We did not found significant changes in H/M ratio after induction of Multiple Sclerosis and due to treatment. However induction of Multiple Sclerosis significantly reduced the weights of animals. The maximal rate of death was at the first day of treatment.

The spark has been lit : En diskursanalys av Islamiska Statens tidning Dabiq Magazine / The spark has been lit : A discourse analysis of Dabiq MagazineFranzén, Ida January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the study is to examine how religion legitimates outrages and it what ways we can regard religion as politics. The study uses the theory that Eickelman and Piscatori present in their book Muslim politics. They use the term ‘Muslim politics’ to describe the relation between Islam and politics. Eickelman and Piscatori divide Muslim politics in five elements that the essay uses to structure the analysis. By studying IS´s own published documents, two issues of the newspaper Dabiq Magazine, from a discourse analytical approach, this essay aims to consolidate the discourse behind the texts and find how the Muslim politics of IS is constructed. IS is an organization that has proclaimed a caliphate that includes Iraq and Syria. IS claims that the core of Islam has been lost and it needs to be rediscovered to avoid the punishment from Allah. IS claim to be the trustees of the will of Allah on earth and call on people to rally behind their interpretation of “true Islam”. The vision of IS is to re-establish a caliphate which is part of the ongoing objectification process.
