Rizikové faktory ústavní výchovy ve vztahu k užívání nelegálních drog - případové studie / Risk factors of institutional education in relation to using illegal drugs - case studies

The objective and main task of this thesis is to ascertain, in the individual case studies of users of illicit addictive substances who underwent institutional care, what risk factors occurred in the examined persons, which of them were represented by the greatest number and what life event or events were associated with the beginning of drug abuse career of the examined persons. The theoretical part of the thesis first describes the institutional care with regard to its function, legislative and statutory regulations applicable in the Czech Republic and the reasons for placing children into institutional care. The thesis further deals with institutional care with regard to formation of human personality and describes the individual risk factors of institutional care in relation to development of personality which follow from the current theoretical knowledge of this phenomenon where the main attention is paid to psychological deprivation in childhood in connection with institutional care. This thesis is concerned with qualitative research in the form of case studies and the data for the purposes of this thesis were collected using the method of semi-structured interview. This diploma thesis describes the current state of legal regulation and implementation of protective education in the Czech Republic. The first part contains the theoretical background of the whole work and deals with the terminological apparatus. It also contains psychological aspects of juvenile delinquency and history of criminal responsibility of children and adolescents in the Czech Republic. The second part contains the valid legislation of this particular with an accent on the issue of protective education. The third part describes current practice in institutional and protective education, with particular emphasis on placement and transfer of children and adolescents to individual facilities, which it specifies. Part Four examines the current aplicable rules in realization of protective education within a specific set of facilities and the legal regulations of juvenile delinquency in Slovakia. The diploma thesis deals with issues concerning the human rights of children living in a family or away from a family, using comparative views of both alternatives. In the theoretical part, the thesis focuses on the basic facts related to human rights and children's rights, followed by details on the theme of adolescence, concretely pubescence. Changes from the perspective of developmental psychology are described, specifically in areas that have fundamental impact on adolescents. The thesis then concentrates on themes concerning the phenomenon of a family, its role, its current forms, the styles of upbringing and the methods that families use. The last portion of the theoretical part focuses on institutional care for children. The historical evolvement of institutional upbringing is described, concretely children's homes, whereby attention is paid to the risks arising from growing up in an institution. In the practical part, the thesis focuses on my research conducted in the form of questionnaires that examine the legal awareness of children aged 10 15 years. In closing, I present the findings that have been evaluated and processed graphically.

This diploma thesis is focused on the issue of the return of children from the institutional care back to the family with the support and cooperation with parents and social workers from social legal child protection and social stimulating services for parents with children. It is a theoretical empirical work based on experiences with realization the return of the child from the institutional care in the area of the town Litvínov. Apart from the practical experience according to the said social workers, the work is also based on the author's theoretical knowledge, which has been gained during the study of professional literature in the field of social pedagogy and by self-studying in the stated problematic. The thesis is focused on the family background, the family cure, the institutional care and activities of social workers during the period when the child was been returning into the family. The empirical part is an illustrational preview into the problematic of the return of children from the institutional care back to the family.

STARTING POINT: The presence of ADHD symptoms is one of the possible causes of risky behavior. Adolescent risk behaviors bring many challenges that can affect the quality of future life. One of the consequences of risky behavior may be to place a teenager in institutional care. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe in detail the occurrence of risk behavior in the children's home with the school and then to look into the possible occurrence of symptoms of ADHD. Consequently, we will attempt to characterize the risk behavior of children in institutional care by gender, age and educational program. METHODS: The data were obtained using questionnaire methods, for the presence of the ADHD symptoms the BRIEF questionnaire was used (Gioia et al., 2011). The VRCHA questionnaire the occurrence of risk behavior in adolescents (Dolejš & Skopal, 2015) was used to map the occurrence of risk behavior. The data was also obtained with the study of the documentation, when we worked with existing documents, the subject of the examination was the report of the respondents. RESULTS: The most common risk behavior in children's homes with the school is delinquency and abuse of addictive substances.
