Previous issue date: 2014-07-10 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This research aims to investigate the sick body and the pain representation by means of photography, considering its documentary and narrative elements. To that end we elected the photographic series The Picture of Health? (1982-1986) and Narratives of Disease (1990) by Jo Spence (1934-92) and Intra-Venus (1992-1993) by Hannah Wilke (1940-93), which focus on the cancer photographic documentation, taking into account their meanings as photographic narratives. In these series we have as interests the pathological pain of the sick and treated body and the image built from its appropriation by these artists. Basing on the study of self-portrait we discuss the relationship between pose and identity in the photographic image constitution as well as the concepts of photography-document proposed by André Rouillé and photographic narrative adopted by Susan e. Bell. Thus, we understand Jo Spence‘s and Hannah Wilke‘s narratives as potent instruments to face the pain, the silence and the stigma which the cancer patient is submitted, and still, a way for questioning the female image socially and culturally constructed. / Essa pesquisa tem como objetivo investigar a representação do corpo doente e da dor por meio da fotografia, levando em conta seus elementos documentais e narrativos. Para tal elegemos como recorte as séries fotográficas The Picture of Health? (1982-1986) e Narratives of Disease (1990) de Jo Spence (1934-92) e Intra-Vênus (1992-1993) de Hannah Wilke (1940-93), produzidas com foco na documentação fotográfica do câncer, considerando suas significações enquanto narrativas fotográficas. Nessas obras nos interessa a dor patológica do corpo doente, medicalizado e a imagem que se constrói a partir de sua apropriação por essas artistas. Partindo do estudo do autorretrato, abordamos a relação que se estabelece entre pose e identidade na constituição da imagem fotográfica, bem como os conceitos de fotografia-documento proposto por André Rouillé e de narrativa fotográfica adotado por Susan E. Bell. Desse modo, entendemos as narrativas de Jo Spence e Hannah Wilke como potentes instrumentos de enfrentamento da dor, do silêncio e do estigma aos quais o portador de câncer está submetido, e de questionamento de uma visualidade da imagem feminina construída social e culturalmente.

Three political moments are analyzed that marked different phases and moments of the government: inauguration of Goulart, in 1961; referendum for return of presidentialist regime or maintenance of parliamentary system, in 1963; and reform meeting, in 1964. The aim is to analyze and understand how newspapers elaborated president's public image on political events that had in common the discussion of categories such as democracy, citizenship and popular participation, located in periods of political, economic and military crisis. In this study, when analyzing the journalistic discourses and the changes of opinion of press according to the political events, the importance of production of press in our perception of the social, political and historical reality is considered, determining a look on the past. / A pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar a constru??o de imagens p?blicas do presidente Jo?o Goulart e seu governo (1961-1964) atrav?s da grande imprensa carioca ? Correio da Manh?, Jornal do Brasil e ?ltima Hora. Analisa-se tr?s momentos pol?ticos que marcaram fases diferentes do governo: a posse de Goulart, em 1961; o plebiscito pelo retorno do regime presidencialista ou a manuten??o do sistema parlamentarista, em 1963; e o com?cio das reformas de base, em 1964. Trata-se de analisar e compreender de que maneira os jornais elaboraram as imagens do presidente em eventos pol?ticos que tinham em comum a discuss?o de categorias como democracia, cidadania e participa??o popular, situados em per?odos de crises pol?tica e militar, em um contexto maior de crise econ?mica no pa?s. Neste estudo, ao analisar os discursos jornal?sticos e as mudan?as de opini?o dos jornais conforme os acontecimentos pol?ticos, considera-se a import?ncia da produ??o da grande imprensa na nossa percep??o da realidade social, pol?tica e hist?rica, determinando um olhar sobre o passado.

Feast that belongs to the state of Maranh?o as a system of symbolic communication, which expresses and communicates the identity of a people. In the heating of the bonfires, we have located, through ethnographic research, the object of study, the ?S?o Jo?o? Feast, adopting, as a methodology of research, the philosophical hermeneutics of Gadamer, making use of the concept of hermeneutical circle, divided into three parts, for reading, that correspond to the three aspects of rituals that have been analyzed: the comonthlys, the apparel and the spatiality. On the stage of the party we emphasize the concepts of myth, rite and rituals. We define the ritual as this symbolic communication system where agents and social subjects develop social relations and consolidate their experience in society. We present the parties and events as places for building identities and we locate the party researched in its symbolic fields. We have also explored, the concepts of folklore and culture, which give support for this research. In the folklore tent we use the theory of ?Folkcomunica??o?, because we analyze a festival of popular culture, via communication. We also share the concept of culture approached in this theory, from which we appropriate, to substantiate the research. In the guarnic? of the ritual, we present the interpretation/analysis of the research considering that, as we are working with the philosophical hermeneutics of Gadamer, we considered the party from the Hermeneutical Circle, presenting first the party pre understanding, the three parties in which the party was divided into for reading and finally its interpretation. / Para elaborar esse trabalho, montamos o arraial e analisamos a ritualidade da festa do S?o Jo?o do Maranh?o como um sistema de comunica??o simb?lico, que expressa e comunica a identidade de um povo. No aquecimento das fogueiras, localizamos, por meio de pesquisa etnogr?fica, o objeto de estudo, a festa do S?o Jo?o, adotando, como metodologia de pesquisa, a hermen?utica filos?fica de Gadamer, com a utiliza??o do conceito de c?rculo hermen?utico, dividido em tr?s partes, para a leitura, que correspondem aos tr?s aspectos de rituais que foram analisados: a comensalidade, a indument?ria e a espacialidade. No palco da festa enfatizamos os conceitos de mito, rito e rituais. A Study of the Three Poets in The Hai-Wai-Chi SocietyGuo, Chiou-shien 06 September 2007 (has links)
Abstract
The Hai-Wai-Chi Society, an overseas organization derived from the ¡§Chi Society¡¨ based in Shanghai, was initiated and founded by Hsu Fu-Yuan, one of the six poets of the Chi Society. Towards the end of the Hung Kung reign of the late Ming dynasty, in the wake of the defeat of the Sungchiang uprising staged by the society, Hsu continued to work for the recovery of the Ming legacy against the ruling Qing regime. At first, he left Shanghai to follow Emperor Lungwu in Fujian. After Emperor Lungwu was defeated, he proceeded to Choushan to follow King Lu and cooperated with Chang Huang-Yen. Later on, after Choushan was seized by the Qing army, Hsu accompanied King Lu under the shelter of Koxinga in Xiamen. It was at this point that the society came to its apex. When Koxinga took hold of Taiwan following his defeat at Nanjing battle, the society members began to enter the island along with the soldiers. Therefore, the literature of Hai-Wai-Chi Society is viewed as the beginning of Han Taiwanese literature.
Taiwan Shih Cheng by Lien Heng refers to Hsu Fu-Yuan, Chang Huang-Yen, Lu Jo-Teng, Sheng Chuan-Chi, Chao Tsung-Lung, Chen Shih-Ching as ¡§The Six Poets of Hai-Wai-Chi Society.¡¨ This paper, entitled A Study of Three Poets in the Hai-Wai-Chi Society, is intended to follow the same way of thinking in its exploration of Hsu Fu-Yuan, Chang Huang-Yen, and Lu Jo-Teng through the existing anthology of the society. Meanwhile, the relevant literature concerning the other three poets will be reviewed for necessary references. The Hai-Wai-Chi Society is characterized by its composition of core members, mainly loyalists to King Lu, who followed Koxinga to Taiwan as a consequence of the fall of Choushan. Mourning over the end of the Ming empire, intellectuals of high morality and talent assembled to form a society of poetry to express their emotions toward the fatherland. The members of the Hai-Wai-Chi Society were actively involved in the fight against the Qing court. In spite of successive defeats, they would live and die in exile overseas rather than surrender as subjects of the Qing regime.
The Introduction aims to explain the motivation of this study, the meaning and formation of The Hai-Wai-Chi Society, with a literature review of the three poets. The first chapter explores the public opinions of The Dong-Lin Party¡]ªFªLÄÒ¡^ and the Restoration Society¡]´_ªÀ¡^ in the Late Ming period, and the poetry of patriotism by Chen Tzu-Lung and Hsia Wang-Chun of The Hai-Wai-Chi Society, to be defined in this study as two typical kinds of heritage of The Hai-Wai-Chi Society. The second chapter gives an analysis of the historical background of South Ming royalists fighting against the Qing regime and the formation and development of The Hai-Wai-Chi Society. The third chapter is focused on the Tiao-Huang-Tang Manuscript by Hsu Fu-Yuan to study his overseas poems that express his uncompromising anti-Qing mentality and noble patriotic integrity. The fourth chapter represents the social reality of war-ridden Kinmen during the Koxinga period based on Niao-Yi Poetry and Liu-An Anthology by Lu Jo-Teng. The fifth chapter deals with Chi-Ling Grass, Ping-Tsa Collection, and Tsai-Wei Recitation by Chang Huang-Yen to distinguish him as a great noble Ming loyalist who had fought against the Qing power for 19 years overseas. The Conclusion sums up the poetry by the three poets as: (1) a reflection of history with a national concern, (2) an expression of opposition against invasion with a firm anti-Qing determination, and (3) a kind of oceanic literature with a universal sympathy.

Presentation of biblical, historic, mythological facts blended the present and the past, realistic and supernatural phenomena, versatility and reality. The poetics of magic(al) realism revealed an unexpected opposition of culture and civilisation, where nature, manners, traditions were attributed namely to the cultural phenomenon, and the civilization was brought closer to the concept of science and rules. A unique form of narrative, vicissitude of times and locations, usage of names – should anticipate the possibility of a miracle, unbelievable events. In the poetics of magic(al) realism, all that is used for involvement of a reader into the text, his/her activation and causing surprise.

Aquesta tesi és un estudi de com i perquè l'home s'apropia, altera i genera diferents d'objectes "artificis" en el context artístic contemporani per a construir la seva identitat. Aquesta respon a desitjos encoberts des del seu propi cos i és per això que fer un anàlisi de l'artifici, on projecta el seu "jo", ha permès despullar l'home de sentits i arribar a generar preguntes i apropar-nos a algunes respostes sobre la identitat, que han permès conèixer, de manera més autèntica, les realitats que amaga en el seu propi cos.Habitualment els estudis que s'han fet en art contemporani sobre "el doble" han estat basats en l'anàlisi d'un mateix tipus d'objecte "formal", quan aquesta manera d'operar ha pogut limitar l'estudi i conseqüentment acotar possibles conclusions. El que s'ha perseguit en aquesta tesi ha estat demostrar, mitjançant els diferents capítols, com la diversitat de l'objecte artificial pot respondre a un mateix sentit pel que fa la projecció del "jo" en l'objecte.En el primer capítol de la tesi es fa un recorregut per mites i fabulacions per tal que pugui ser constatat, al final de la tesi, com el sentit, les respostes i els interrogants d'aquests/es han arribat a tenir una important presència en el context artístic actual. Sota l'interrogant de ..la natura pot ser artifici? està basat el segon capítol de la tesi on, fent un recorregut des del macrocosmos fins al microcosmos es fa una apropiació d'algunes de les darreres obres artístiques per veure com respon l'artifici dins d'aquests dos contextos. El "sublim artificial" i com aquest forma part del paisatge contemporani tanca el capítol.En el capítol tercer, es fa un estudi de l'objecte artificial com a "generador" de sentit en el context de l'art i s'analitza aquest fet des de dues perspectives diferents: l'erotisme i el fracàs. Per tal de analitzar el fracàs, s'ha fet l'apropiació d'algunes obres que generen el seu discurs des de la disfuncionalitat, l'accident o l'absurd.En el quart capítol s'han analitzat les diferents formes que pot adoptar el Posthumà en l'art contemporani i el com i el perquè d'algunes de les raons per les quals aquest pot esdevenir esclau. Dins de l'anàlisi de la forma d'aquest cossos artificials s'ha fet un recorregut que va de l'artefacte a la màquina, de l'autòmat al robot de l'ortopèdia a la pròtesis i a les prolongacions.La intenció del cinquè capítol ha estat motivar el sorgiment de preguntes sobre quines són les maneres en què l'objecte artificial es "comporta" (rols) dins del llenguatge de l'art, i per tal de fer un apropament a la seva "essència" com a "ens", s'ha fet des de la postura que defensa Heidegger, la qual parteix de la manera d'entendre l'ànima en el pensament d'Aristotèlic. Tanmateix, s'ha fet un estudi de certes obres on el comportament de l'objecte respon a alguns tipus de manifestacions que fomenten la il·lusió animista: el moviment, l'electricitat, la projecció lumínica i la sonoritat. Per últim s'ha parlat de l'automatisme com acte de creació.El sisè capítol actuar sota les bases de la dialèctica de la poètica i de l'estètica de l'objecte tecnològic. La préhension manuelle est une des habilités de l’homme la plus développée et la plus utilisée dans la vie de tous les jours. Cette capacité nous permet de saisir et de manipuler des objets dans des configurations aussi nombreuses que complexes. Malheureusement, la main est aussi le siège de nombreuses blessures qui, de par l’importance de la préhension, sont fortement handicapantes. Face à ce constat, comprendre les contraintes mécaniques qui sont exercées dans les muscles, les tendons, les articulations et les ligaments lors de gestes de la vie quotidienne apparaît comme un enjeu majeur pour la prévention, la réhabilitation et l’ergonomie. L’objectif de ce travail doctoral était de développer un modèle biomécanique de la préhension permettant une estimation de ces variables non mesurables. A titre d’exemple,le paradigme de la pince pouce-index a été utilisé. Dans une première étude, les modèles biomécaniques de la pince disponibles dans la littérature ont été développés et comparés.Suite à cette évaluation, il a été constaté que ces modèles, en particulier le pouce,nécessitaient des améliorations pour permettre une évaluation physiologiquement réaliste lors de la préhension. Dès lors, plusieurs améliorations ont été proposées. Premièrement, une procédure expérimentale a été développée afin d’évaluer et d’inclure les participations mécaniques passives (ligaments, tissus mous, butées osseuses) de l'articulation trapèzométacarpienne. Deuxièmement, des mesures effectuées par IRM ont été utilisées afin d’intégrer l’action mécanique du muscle First Dorsale Interosseous dans l’équilibre du pouce,ce muscle étant alors négligé malgré son importance dans les tâches de préhension.Troisièmement, une méthode expérimentale permettant d’évaluer plus facilement et plus précisément, in situ, les axes de flexion/extension et d’adduction/abduction de l’articulation trapèzométacarpienne a été proposée et évaluée. Enfin, le modèle biomécanique incluant ces améliorations a été mis en œuvre dans une dernière étude ergonomique visant à étudier l’effet de la taille de l’objet manipulé sur les forces musculaires et articulaires. / Manual precision grip is one of man's most developed and most used ability in everyday lifeactivities. The negative outcome is the high exposure of the hand to repetitive stress injurieswhich are often very disabling. Thus, the understanding of the mechanical stress exerted inmuscles, tendons, joints and ligaments during gripping tasks appears as a major issue forinjury prevention, rehabilitation and ergonomic considerations. This doctoral work aimed atdeveloping a biomechanical model of the grip to estimate the unmeasurable internal loads. Asan example, the classical paradigm of the thumb - index finger grip was used. In a first study,the biomechanical models of the thumb available in the literature were compared and severalimprovements proposed in order to obtain more physiologically realistic predictions. First, anexperimental method was developed to evaluate and include passive structures moment intothe equilibrium of the trapeziometacarpal joint (TMC). Secondly, MRI was used to integratethe mechanical action of the First Dorsal Interosseous muscle at the TMC, since this musclehas commonly been neglected in thumb models but seems essential during pinch grip.Thirdly, the kinematic model which has to be used with the anthropometric data of tendonmoment arms was evaluated and compared to our proposition of a functional method toassess, in situ, the axes of rotation of the TMC. Finally, the biomechanical model includingthese improvements was implemented in an ergonomic study. We investigated the effect ofobject width on grip forces and muscles/joints loads. This doctoral work finds its consistencyin its desire to develop and apply the biomechanical modelling of the hand in the fields ofclinical and ergonomics.

O conhecimento do comportamento das plantas, frente aos recursos do meio, como a luz, ?gua e principalmente a disponibilidade de nutrientes no solo, torna-se fundamental para adotar t?ticas de manejo das mesmas nos agroecossistemas. Observa??es de campo sugerem a esp?cie como planta daninha de ciclo r?pido, que adapta-se bem a solos de alta fertilidade e com grande capacidade em acumular mat?ria seca, cujo material vegetal ? rapidamente decomposto no solo. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito do aumento de doses de nitrog?nio, f?sforo e pot?ssio no crescimento de Nicandra physaloides, bem como, os teores de nutrientes, as caracter?sticas bromatol?gicas e a rela??o C/N presentes na mat?ria seca dessa planta daninha. No primeiro experimento foi avaliada a influ?ncia das doses de nutrientes no ac?mulo e parti??o de mat?ria seca, na altura e nas taxas de crescimento de N. physaloides. No segundo experimento foram avaliados os efeitos das doses de N, P e K nos teores e ac?mulo de nutrientes, nas caracter?sticas bromatol?gicas e na rela??o C/N, presentes na mat?ria seca das plantas. Observou-se que a esp?cie ? altamente responsiva ? aduba??o. No entanto, o padr?o de distribui??o de biomassa n?o foi alterado pela aduba??o. Ao ser cultivada em solo de baixa fertilidade, N. physaloides apresentou baixas taxas de crescimento. Maiores teores de N, P e K foram encontrados em plantas submetidas aos maiores n?veis de nutrientes. O aumento nos n?veis de N, P e K no solo proporcionou maior ac?mulo total desses macronutrientes. Os tratamentos n?o influenciaram a composi??o bromatol?gica (FDN e FDA) e a rela??o C/N da planta. N. physaloides apresentou baixa rela??o C/N durante todo o per?odo de avalia??o, o que aliado aos baixos teores de FDN e FDA e ao bom ac?mulo de nutrientes, sugere que o material vegetal proveniente dessa planta seja rapidamente decomposto, proporcionando uma ciclagem r?pida de nutrientes no solo. / Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Produ??o Vegetal, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2013. / ABSTRACT Nicandra physaloides (L) Gaertn. is a weed that infests Brazilian agricultural areas. Knowledge the behavior of plants against environmental resources, such as light, water and mainly the availability of nutrients in the soil, being essential to management in agroecosystems. Field reports suggest the weed species of fast cycle has the characteristics following: well adapted to soils of high fertility and high capacity to accumulate dry matter; which plant matter is quickly decomposed in soil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of increasing of N, P and K doses on growth of Nicandra physaloides as well as the nutrients content, chemical characteristics and C/N ratio of the weed. In the first experiment was evaluated the influence of nutrient levels in accumulation and partitioning of dry matter, height and growth rates of N. physaloides. In the second experiment evaluated the effects of N, P and K doses on content and accumulation of nutrients, chemical characteristics and the C/N ratio of the weed. The specie was highly responsive to fertilization. However, biomass partitioning was not altered by fertilization. When grown on low soils fertility levels, N. physaloides showed low growth rates on low nutrients level. Higher N, P and K contents were observed in plants grown on higher levels of fertilizer. The increasing of N, P and K levels of soil resulted in greater total accumulation of these macronutrients. The treatments did not affect the chemical composition (NDF and ADF) and the C/N ratio of plant. N. physaloides showed lower C/N ratio during experimental period, which combined to low levels of NDF and ADF and great nutrient accumulation, suggests that this plant matter is quickly decomposed, providing a rapid cycling of nutrients.
