Le royaume de Judée va, entre la fin du IIème siècle av. J.-C. à l’an 70 ap. J.-C., connaître de profonds bouleversements. La société juive face aux puissances hellénistiques et romaine va réussir à conserver son identité tout en perdant son phare qu’est le Temple. La guerre contre Rome, à partir de 66 ap. J.-C,. révèle des tensions politiques, sociales et religieuses. Il n’y a pas un judaïsme mais des judaïsmes. L’aristocratie sacerdotale de plus arrogante va tenter de conserver son influence à tout prix. Une partie de la population va remettre en cause la structure de la société. Bien souvent ces révoltés, insurgés, tant méprisés par Flavius Josèphe, vont se battre pour défendre un idéal alliant une forme de patriotisme au judaïsme. / The realm of Judea went through profound changes between the end of the 2nd century B.C and theyear 70 A.D. Facing the Hellenistic and Roman powers, Jewish society was going to keep its identity while losing its lighthouse : the Temple.From 66 A.D., the war against Rome revealed political, social and religious tensions. There were different Judaisms, not only one. More and more arrogant, sacerdotal aristocracy tried to maintain its influence at any price.A part of the population challenged the structure of society. These rebels, so much criticized by Flavius Josephus, were often to fight to defend an ideal combining a form of patriotism to Judaism.

Prostorová analýza raně římských fortifikací v severním Negevu / Spatial analysis of early Roman fortifications in northern Negev

13 Abstract The present thesis aims to answer questions regarding function of many Early Roman fortifications investigated in past decades in the region of Northern Negev, i.e. in the valley of Nahal Beersheva between modern towns of Arad and Beersheva. In past, various interpretations were provided, often conflicting with each other and therefore author sought to look at this topic from different point of view, using GIS based tools to explore spatial relationships between the fortifications and settlements in terms of intervisibility (for military signaling and control) and relation to road-system. Moreover, Early Roman Judaea was unstable region with high prevalence of banditry and thus assumption is that military responded to these threats. The results of viewshed analysis (intervisiblity) and least-cost path (reconstruction of road system) can roughly divide the region in question to the zones. In the first zone, most of the fortifications are intervisible and also exercise control of settlements and roads; while in the second zone forts cannot communicate using signals but are located on important roads providing water, lodging and security to travelers. Characterisations of YHWH in the song of the vineyard : a multitextural interpretation of Isaiah 5:1-7

The Song of the Vineyard, Isaiah 5:1-7, portrays YHWH as a vinedresser who has carefully prepared land and planted a choice vine, a symbol of the people whom the deity has chosen. When the reasonable expectation that the vine produce good fruit is thwarted, the vinedresser destroys the vineyard. YHWH, the vinedresser, may seem to be characterised by these actions as a demanding god who will swiftly and harshly recompense any failure to meet expectations. This thesis poses the hypothesis that although this brief song may at first seemingly present a monochromatic characterisation of YHWH, it may actually present a spectrum of characterisations when viewed through multiple interpretive lenses. Socio-rhetorical criticism is the methodology used to examine this hypothesis. This methodology, developed by Vernon K. Robbins, encompasses diverse interpretive approaches, examining five aspects, or “textures,” of the text to obtain a broad interpretive spectrum. In this thesis, three of the textures, innertexture, intertexture, and socio-cultural texture, are considered in separate chapters. The chapter on innertexture examines the world of the text itself, in particular its progressive nature and emotive content. The next chapter examines the intertextural relationship between this Isaian song and two other ancient songs (The Song of the Reed Sea and the Song of Moses), associative references to Sodom, and parallels with the Song of Solomon. The chapter on the socio-cultural texture examines the portrayal of YHWH in light of the socio-economics and socio-cultural values of the world of the story, eighth century B.C.E. Judah. Through this interpretive lense, YHWH is seen as a patron or benefactor who has been dishonoured by his people. In socio-rhetorical criticism, ideology is often presented as a separate texture; in this thesis, it is considered as part of the act of interpretation of all textures, since readers’ ideologies interact with the text. The sacred texture, the last of Robbins’ proposed textures, is presented as the conclusion, with a summary of the spectrum of characterisations of YHWH that the multi-lensed interpretive approach uncovers. The work deals with the historicity of King David, how muchcorresponds to the biblical story of David's ancient reality. Usingarchaeological survey of contemporary Israel and is run in the end of the 19th century. AD, the scientific community is divided into two main directions Maximalists conservative and liberal minimalists try to objectively assess the time of David the United Kingdom. The aim of my work is to capture the state of discussions withrepresentatives of scientists and scholars on the subject. The firstsection describes the basic concepts and contexts related to the topic with an introduction to the study and interpretation of thestudied biblical story of David. The second part is devoted to the interpretation of arguments and opinions of authors of publications,with perspectives on the historical authenticity of the biblical story of David. In conclusion, the thesis I try to summarize all the work using the main data connection, and data along with archeologicalfindings and express their personal opinion
