A INFLUÊNCIA DO SN-SUJEITO NO PROCESSAMENTO DE ORAÇÕES RELATIVAS AMBÍGUAS NO PORTUGUÊS BRASILEIRO

Prestes, Liliane da Silva 23 February 2006 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-22T17:27:38Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 LILIANE.pdf: 1182992 bytes, checksum: 5c92972ef795377ea9598495c2bfe752 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-02-23 / The present work aims at analyzing the influence of the internal structure of the NPsubject in the interpretation of ambiguous relative clauses of Brazilian Portuguese. The objective of the research was to investigate the performance of parser related to the preference of attachment of this type of clause, searching a possible relation with the structure, under the syntactic and prosodic points of view, which defined the combination of variables to be observed: simple and short NP; simple and long; composed and short; and composed and long. In order to compare silent and oral reading, collection of data instruments had been elaborated. The silent reading experiment was applied to a total of one hundred and ten informers; in turn, the oral reading experiment was applied to seven informers, all university students and monolingual speakers of Brazilian Portuguese. For the elaboration of the instrument, we took as a reference the type of construction used in the forth experiment proposed by Cuettos and Mitchell (1988). For the accomplishment of this study, we were based on the Implicit Prosody Hipotesis (Fodor, 2002), Prosodic Theory (Nespor and Vogel, 1986), studies about prosody-syntax interface (Inkelas and Zed, 2000), as well as studies refered to the processing of sentences in languages such as English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese (Bader, 1998; Fernández, 2002; Finger and Zimmer, 2005; Lourenço-Gomes, 2003; Maia et al, 2004, entre outros). We analyzed, in silent reading, the attachment preferences; and, in oral reading, such preferences had been associated to acoustic analysis, in order to find relations between the division of the structure in phnological phrases and the related choices. The results of the research had disclosed, for this type of structure, a significant preference for the early closure of the relative clause in both silent and oral reading. The results had converged in the direction to confirm the hypothesis that the more 20 natural prosodic contour of the language would influence the resolution of this type of ambiguity. However, the variable studied here revealed itself as irrelevant, which sent us to possible explanations related to the type and the length of the involved structures, as well as the proper collection of data instrument configuration. The results obtained in this analysis had allowed us to infer that the parser would be influenced by proper characteristics of each language, contributing, thus, for the deepening of the studies on language processing.

Wolffowitz-Sanchez, Norma 06 July 2009 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Norma Wolffowitz Sanchez.pdf: 2286186 bytes, checksum: 7a72afae038bae5dbab9b281e4b908ed (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-07-06 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The objective of this research is to investigate how Teachers Development for the Early Bilingual Education occurred based on the production of collaborative spaces aimed at sharing of meanings and the production of new senses on Early Bilingual Education. The study is based on the Socio‐Historical‐ Cultural Activity Theory according to Vygotsky (1930/2003, 1930/2000, 1934/2001), Leontiev (1977, 1978) and Engeström (1987, 1999). It is also based on the vygotskian conception of teaching‐learning and bakhtinian dialogism and verbal interaction (Bakhtin and his Circle 1979/2000, 1929/2002). It is possible to understand the roles of teacher‐trainer and student‐teachers in the activity of Teachers Development for the Early Bilingual Education based on this theoretical framework because all human activity is mediated by cultural artifacts socio‐historically situated, and these artifacts are produced and transformed by the socio‐historical‐cultural subjects and, in turn, transform the subjects. From this perspective, the relationship of humans with their peers and the world is dialectical and language is the mediator of verbal interactions. When humans share meanings from the senses, they bring to the interaction the various voices that constitute them and the various voices of others (Bakhtin and his Circle, 1929/2002). The activity of production of shared meanings is not free of tensions and confrontation and they allow reconstruction and transformation of knowledge on a creative and expansive cycle (Engeström, 1987). This is a critical‐collaborative research (Magalhães 2002, 2004, 2005, 1990/2006, 1992a/2006, 1992b/2006, 1996/2006, 1998a/2006e, 1998b/2006; Liberali, 2007a, 2007b, 2006, 2004). This study was conducted in LAEL / PUC‐SP and in a preschool in the city of São Paulo, with one teacher‐trainer and three student‐teachers who are members of LACE Research Group. The research was conducted in the academic year of 2008 and the data analyzed correspond to the first academic semester. The data were produced and collected during reflexive sessions, sessions of study and lesson planning, exchange of emails, reports, audio and video classes. The analysis of selected data observed the roles of each participant throughout the training, and collaborative spaces for the production of knowledge between teacher‐trainer and student‐teachers in development, and also if these spaces contributed to the production of knowledge for Early Bilingual Education. The results of the first academic semester showed that there was production of knowledge for Early Bilingual Education due to the creative and collaborative spaces. Besides student‐teachers participants, after being in the activity for some time, started to assume more central roles and fulfilled more responsibilities and tasks, so that the teacher‐trainer moved from the central participation to the periphery of the activity. Participants of this activity of teacher education project called Learn Play: Bilingual Education have emancipated at all times through the present tension and conflict in the negotiation of senses and meanings that expanded the activity.

Moreira, Dâni Rodrigues 23 February 2005 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-22T17:26:17Z (GMT).

Avila, Maria Carolina Alves Pereira 20 December 2000 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-22T17:26:26Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 caroline.pdf: 782841 bytes, checksum: 0b066b9c59aa2c1ff6d0daceaf468144 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2000-12-20 / This research work describes and analises the acquisition data of the complex onset by 100 Brasilian children between two years and three years and seven months old, establishing comparisons with the results of the acquisition analyses of the European Portuguese phonology (Freitas, 1997) and Dutch (Fikkert, 1994). Clement s Sonority Hierarchy (1990) is used as substrate to the adopted theory for sufficing the kinds of /r/ production complex onsets in Brasilian Portuguese. The aim of this work was to verify the acquisition order of the different kinds of complex syllabic onsets and the strategies used by the children during phonological acquisition aiming for the target language production. For this the corpus got statistic treatment through the VARBRUL Program which presented the series of linguistics and extralinguistic variables favoring the production of complex onset. The results of data analysis gave subsidies that lead to the conclusion for the universal tendency of the Stages of Acquisition of Complex Onset and the Strategies of Reconstruction of the sequence studied. The data also revealed that the acquisition of complex onset is gradual, although it is not linear: first the complex onset with obstruents and lateral liquids are acquired and then the syllabic onsets consisted of obstruents and non-lateral liquids.

Bazzan, Maristela Andréa Teichmann 19 May 2005 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-22T17:26:51Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 maristela.pdf: 1330841 bytes, checksum: efac761451c3b47a6a06cfda2b98274c (MD5) Previous issue date: 2005-05-19 / This research presents a study whose objective was the description and the analysis of the process of the middle vowels acquisition in spanish by native speakers of portuguese in Brazil. The informants of the present research have been students of spanish as a foreign Language in the Language Department of the Universidade Regional Integrada do Alto Uruguai e das Missões. To verification the behavior of the middle vowels in this acquisition process, linguistic variables as well as extra-linguistic ones have been taken into consideration. The analysis of the results has been based on the Contraint-Based Theory of Phonological Markedness and Simplification Procedures, proposed by Calabrese (1988, 1995 and 2004). The results of this investigation, based on Calabrese´s theory , permit the conclusion that the spanish language presents a five-vowel system in its phonological system, having mid-low vowels -/i, Ε, a, o, u/- which become mid-high vowels, on a phonetic level, in open syllables. The research also shows the tendency for Brazilian speakers to pronounce mid-low vowels in Spanish words while native speakers of Spanish pronounce them as mid-high vowels.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Stander pdf.pdf: 5238111 bytes, checksum: 8325666a3992c3daae29e2324fe1121a (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-02-23 / This study aims at investigating, in the light of Optimality Theory (OT), the acquisition process of primary stress in suffixed non-verbs in English as a foreign language by Brazilian Portuguese (BP) native speakers. It focuses particularly on three and four-syllable words formed by the following morphemes: able, ment, ity and ous. It also aims at analyzing the acquisition of the stress pattern in the non-suffixed words from which the target suffixed words are formed. Data from fifteen English students, five elementary level students, five intermediate level students and five advanced level students, were analyzed. Their classification in these levels was according to the time they have been exposed to the English language and according to their performance in a proficiency test, based on First Certificate in English (FCE) exam from University of Cambridge. The data analysis, carried out through OT, enabled the characterization of different interlanguage levels corresponding to the different proficiency levels studied. These levels could be represented by constraint hierarchies which showed the learners gradual development towards the target constraint hierarchy. To the acquisition process of primary stress in English, the data shows the relevance of the interaction of the constraints NONFINALITY and NEUTRALITY with other constraints already pertaining to the mother tongue grammar / O objetivo deste estudo é investigar, com base nos pressupostos teóricos da Teoria da Otimidade (OT), o processo de aquisição do acento primário em nomes sufixados do inglês como língua estrangeira (LE) por falantes nativos do português brasileiro (PB), focalizando particularmente palavras trissílabas e polissílabas formadas pelos morfemas able, ment, ity e ous.

For this objective 39 university instructors and 80 students of the Catholic University of Pelotas were surveyed. The subjects answered 20 item questionnaire on the use of oral and written texts (reception and production) in classroom activities. Teachers and students who participated in the study belong to different areas of the Humanities, Biological Sciences and Engineering. The results of the questionnaires are analyzed in a qualitative paradigm and they show that the university classroom is still a place of the monologue, the conversational interactions are seldom used and text production is basically an evaluative activity. The study presents pedagogical suggestions on how texts can be used to make the university classroom a sharing and interactional environment / A proposta desta pesquisa visa a refletir sobre o texto utilizado dialogicamente na construção do conhecimento na sala de aula da Universidade.

Krebs, Marloá Eggres 16 March 2007 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-03-22T17:27:44Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 marloa.pdf: 699263 bytes, checksum: 8f02e27aeb9acb350dc6edfd07611444 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2007-03-16 / This research investigates the interference of the learner's mother tongue on the learning of a foreign language. By means of the Contrastive Analysis (CA), the influence of Portuguese-Spanish false cognate pairs in students language learning is examined. The aim of this study is, more specifically, to categorize the most recurrent false cognates in the samples analyzed, according to the level of interference in learning. The present study also aims at detecting evidences of homoiophobia in the learning of Spanish as a foreign language (SFL) by native speakers of Brazilian Portuguese, in Brazil. In addition to these objectives, there are two main questions which guide this research: 1) to what extent do false cognates induce to semantic mistakes which hinder or suppress the learning of SFL by native speakers of Brazilian Portuguese? and 2) to what extent can false cognates produce homoiophobia during the process of learning SFL? . With this in mind, bibliographical research was conducted in order to survey previous studies on the linguistic proximity between Portuguese and Spanish. Besides that, bibliographical research concerning CA and Error Analysis (EA) was carried out for the purpose of pointing out the relevance of these models for the study of a foreign language. Also discussed were the previous research about the didactic relevance of the CA and the concepts of error and fossilization. Furthermore, a review as regards the concepts of transference and interference is presented, as well as issues concerning false cognates and homoiophobia . This research is a case study that involves four senior high school students from a private school in Santiago city, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The methodology is based on data collection by means of: 1) a preliminary questionnaire; 2) versions of texts; 3) translations of texts; 4) translations of sentences; 5) translations of words; 6) interviews; and 7) notes taken by the researcher. From the results, it follows that the incorrect usage of false cognates shows students tendency to silence during the process of learning SFL. These results indicate that the implementation of specific and appropriate teaching methods to deal with similarities and differences between languages should be enhanced. It is necessary to invest in such teaching methods based on the CA, for the purpose of helping students to raise awareness of these similarities and differences / O presente estudo investiga a interferência da LM na aprendizagem da LE.

Four aspects were examined: (1) student/teacher interaction; (2) student/student interaction; (3) student/content interaction; and (4) student/instrument interaction. The theoretical background is based mainly on Vygotsky s ideas, with an emphasis on the Activity Theory, following Leontiev and current development of the theory by Engestrom. The data were collected during a semester, from two groups, one in the classroom and the other in a distance learning course, both groups studying the same content. Different instruments were used, including a diary, questionnaires, classroom observation, interviews, and the distance learning platform itself with its own tools (Teleduc). The results showed that, in terms of interaction, there are more differences than similarities between distance learning and classroom contexts. Among the differences, the following should be highlighted: there is a tendency in distance learning contexts to eliminate the hierarchy between teacher and student; the role of the teacher as a facilitator is more important in virtual teaching; the tool is more relevant in distance learning. The conclusion is that although there are differences between the two forms of teaching, these differences do not guarante e the efficiency of one over the other / Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal investigar a interação que ocorre na sala de aula presencial e nos cursos a distância, buscando as semelhanças e diferenças entre uma situação e outra.
