An Analysis of Gender and Racial Diversity in the Big Four Accounting Firms

Huynh, Victoria 01 January 2019 (has links)
This thesis examines various diversity initiatives at the Big Four accounting firms (Deloitte, EY, KPMG, and PwC). It begins by establishing the benefits gender and racial diversity can have for firm performance, providing the motivation for firms to implement diversity initiatives. Additionally, it provides an overview of the current state of gender and racial diversity at the Big Four. It then moves into an analysis of general best and worst practices for diversity initiatives. Finally, it concludes with a discussion of diversity initiatives at the Big Four and how they are measuring up to the best and worst practices. While the Big Four do have areas for improvement in their diversity programs, the majority of their initiatives are consistent with the best diversity practices. As a result, the Big Four accounting firms are effectively committing their resources to diversity initiatives that are successfully increasing workplace diversity.

The manpower retention strategy of (Four shift two round) system ¡Vfor examples of T company

Lin, Wen-Mao 26 August 2005 (has links)
High technology business is the motive power of Taiwan¡¦s economic development. It creates the golden miracle of Taiwan¡¦s economic. IC industry and TFT LCD are the main force in Taiwan. Manufacture is core of these businesses. In-line operators are the fundamental of these businesses. [Four shift Two round] is the working style of these companies. It is different from the traditional industry in Taiwan. IC industries face the different labor power problem from highly growth status to mature status. The biggest change is they can't replace the new employee easily from the job market. Especially TFT industry joining, the replacement is higher in the labor power parts. It has already impacted IC industry. Mature labors select to quit and new employees are hardly to recruit. This situation made IC industry need to review their strategies of labor power maintenance. It is the most important part for each IC manufacturing company to recruit suitable new employees and keep the mature labor power. Labor power maintenance is not only the duty of human resource department. It needs to be aligned with the core value of the whole business. Concentrate the common consensus of all members and provide the labor power policy to correspond with current environment. This study is through the quit analysis and investigate to analyze the working status and system of the operators of [Four shift Two round]. Hope to provide the conclusion and suggestion for related businesses.

Extracting MOSFET Small Signal Equivalent Circuit and Substrate Parameters with Four Port De-embedding Method

Chen, Chun-chung 02 September 2009 (has links)
Characteristics of small signal components for circuit designers are very important in circuit design. Many researchers have been working hard on removing the unwanted parasitic effects which is used to get the intrinsic characteristics of the small signal parameters. In this thesis, we propose a novel four-port de-embedding procedure which based on two-port cascade structure de-embedding procedure and combined with metal and polysilicon ground-shielded technology, and let four terminals of MOSFET are connected individually to four signal pads. With such de-embedding procedure, the intrinsic and substrate element values of small-signal model are extracted by different bias.

Projective structure on 4-dimensional manifolds

Wang, Zhixiang January 2012 (has links)
The object of my thesis is to investigate projectively related metrics, that is, metrics whose Levi-Civita connections admit exactly the same family of unparametrised geodesics on 4-dimensional manifolds with positive de nite or neutral (+;+;;) signatures. The general idea is to study the relationship between projectively related metrics and the holonomy types of each metric. The main technique presented in the work requires a certain classification of the curvature map which has been developed by G. S. Hall and D. P. Lonie in the case of Lorentz signature. In chapter 1, some of the background theory will be given. This will include an introduction to bivector algebra, a revision of the Riemann curvature tensor and holonomy theory and, in particular, the fundamental equations for projective related metrics. A brief historical and bibliographical review is also given. The subsequent chapter gives the details of projective related metrics of positive definite signature. In x2.1, the structure of so(4) is described with an emphasis on the canonical decomposition of bivectors and then the subalgebras of so(4) follow. In x2.2., the problem of projective related metrics can be solved case by case decided by holonomy types. In many of these cases, the connections are found to be necessarily equal. A few cases with nontrivial projectively related metrics have been found by only in the rather special case of curvature class D, and the metrics are given in the appendices. An extension of this method to spaces of neutral signature (+;+;;) is made in chapter 3. The rst part of the chapter discusses the algebraic structure of a 4-dimensional vector space with such a metric. In contrast to metrics of the other two signatures (positive definite and Lorentz), this metric admits totally null planes. The structure of the Lie algebra so(2; 2) can be described through the action on totally null planes. The classification of all subalgebras of so(2,2) is then obtained in terms of self-dual and anti-self-dual bivectors. In most holonomy types and curvature classes, the problem has only trivial solutions. Nontrivial projectively related metrics can be found for four holonomy types with curvature class D and two holonomy types with curvature class A.

A 3-D four-wing attractor and its analysis

Wang, Z, Sun, Y, van Wyk, BJ, Qi, G, van Wyk, MA 22 September 2009 (has links)
Abstract In this paper, several three dimensional (3-D) four-wing smooth quadratic autonomous chaotic systems are analyzed. It is shown that these systems have a number of similar features. A new 3-D continuous autonomous system is proposed based on these features. The new system can generate a four-wing chaotic attractor with less terms in the system equations. Several basic properties of the new system is analyzed by means of Lyapunov exponents, bifurcation diagrams and Poincare maps. Phase diagrams show that the equilibria are related to the existence of multiple wings.

Four Color Theorem

Calton, Kimberly Ann 2009 August 1900 (has links)
The Four Color Theorem originated in 1850 and was not solved in its entirety until 1976. This report details the history of the proof for the Four Color Theorem and multiple contributions to the proof of the Four Color Theorem by several mathematicians. Ideas such as Kempe Chains, reducibility, unavoidable sets, the method of discharging, and the Petersen Graph are all covered in this report. There is also a brief discussion over the importance of a mathematical proof and how the definition of a proof has changed with the contributions of Computer Science to the mathematical community. / text
