<p>Sjöminan har sänkt och skadat mer tonnage än alla andra vapensystem till sjöss. Då medel föder motmedel har sjöminan och minröjningen följt varandra i en lång duell.</p><p>Huvudsyftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur de svenska minröjningsförbanden utvecklas inom taktik och teknik och hur dessa komponenter förhåller sig till varandra. Uppsatsen söker även svaret på hur utvecklingen från minröjningsklass Landsort till minröjningsklass Koster skett.</p><p>Med hjälp av deskriptiv metod kommer <em>Militärstrategisk doktrin, Doktrin för marina operationer</em> samt <em>Försvarsmaktens läroböcker i Mineringstjänst</em>, <em>Minmotmedelstjänst</em> och <em>Minröjningstjänst</em> att användas för att redogöra hur den marina taktiken och tekniken utvecklas som ett medel i duellen mot sjöminan.</p><p>De svenska minröjningsfartygens taktiska och tekniska utveckling grundar sig på de militära basfunktionerna, <em>ledning, verkan, skydd, rörelse, underrättelse samt uthållighet</em>. New Blind Constant Modulus Sliding Windows GSC-RLS Algorithm for DS-CDMA Receiver with Min/Max CriterionLuo, Yin-chen 30 August 2007 (has links)
The code division multiple access (CDMA) system implemented by the direct-sequence (DS) spread spectrum (SS) technique is one of the most promising multiplexing technologies for the wireless communications services. The SS communication adopts a technique of using much wider bandwidth necessary to transmit the information over the channel, and has been proposed for third generation broadband wireless access. The capacity and performance of the DS-CDMA system are mainly limited by the multiple access interference (MAI) and the inter-symbol-interference (ISI) caused by the multipath-fading channel. To circumvent the above-mentioned problems many adaptive multiuser detectors, for instance the minimum mean square error (MMSE) and the minimum output energy (MOE) criteria, subject to certain constraints, have been proposed. Since the LCMV criterion is the linearly constrained (LC) version of MOE, it is high sensitivity to the channel mismatch caused by the unreliable estimation. In order to deal with this problem, the LC constant modulus (LCCM) criterion was considered to avoid capturing the interfering user instead of the desired user when the power of interfering user is much higher than the desired user.
In this thesis, based on the Min/Max criterion we propose a novel blind LCCM recursive least-square (RLS) algorithm, with the generalized side-lobe canceller (GSC) structure, named as the CM GSC-RLS algorithm, to effectively alleviate the effect of MAI and ISI for DS-CDMA receiver, for time-varying channel. Due to the variation of channel at the receiver, the desired user amplitude or power is not available and has to be estimated. To solve this problem, we propose a simple scheme to estimate the parameter of constant modulus, adaptively, associated with the CM GSC-RLS algorithm. With the new proposed algorithm, the amplitude variation of desired user, due to changing characteristics of channel, can be tracked, effectively. Thus, better performance achievement, in terms of output signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) and bit error rate (BER), over the conventional GSC-RLS algorithms can be expected.

Edmonds and Giles conjectured that the maximum number of directed joins in a packing is equal to the minimum weight of a directed cut, for any weighted directed graph. This is a generalization of Woodall's Conjecture (which is still open). Schrijver found the first known counterexample to the Edmonds-Giles Conjecture, while Cornuejols and Guenin found the next two. In this thesis we introduce new counterexamples, and prove that all minimal counterexamples of a certain type have now been found.

Semi-Continuous Robust Approach for Strategic Infrastructure Planning of Reverse Production SystemsAssavapokee, Tiravat 06 April 2004 (has links)
Growing attention is being paid to the problem of efficiently designing and operating reverse supply chain systems to handle the return flows of production wastes, packaging, and end-of-life products. Because uncertainty plays a significant role in all fields of decision-making, solution methodologies for determining the strategic infrastructure of reverse production systems under uncertainty are required. This dissertation presents innovative optimization algorithms for designing a robust network infrastructure when uncertainty affects the outcomes of the decisions. In our context, robustness is defined as minimizing the maximum regret under all realization of the uncertain parameters. These new algorithms can be effectively used in designing supply chain network infrastructure when the joint probability distributions of key parameters are unknown. These algorithms only require the information on potential ranges and possible discrete values of uncertain parameters, which often are available in practice. These algorithms extend the state of the art in robust optimization, both in the structure of the problems they address and the size of the formulations. An algorithm for dealing with the problem with correlated uncertain parameters is also presented. Case studies in reverse production system infrastructure design are presented. The approach is generalizable to the robust design of network supply chain systems with reverse production systems as one of their subsystems.

Improving Fairness among TCP Flows by Cross-layer Stateless ApproachTsai, Hsu-Sheng 26 July 2008 (has links)
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) has been recognized as the most important transport-layer protocol for the Internet. It is distinguished by its reliable transmission, flow control, and congestion control. However, the issue of fair bandwidth-sharing among competing flows was not properly addressed in TCP. As web-based applications and interactive applications grow more popular, the number of short-lived flows conveyed on the Internet continues to rise. With conventional TCP, short-lived flows will be unable to obtain a fair share of available bandwidth. As a result, short-lived flows will suffer from longer delays and a lower service rate. It is essential for the Internet to come up with an effective solution to this problem in order to accommodate the new traffic patterns.
With a more equitable sharing of bottleneck bandwidth as its goal, two cross-layer stateless queue management schemes featuring Drop Maximum (DM) and Early Drop Maximum (EDM) are developed and presented in this dissertation. The fundamental idea is to drop packets from those flows having more than an equal share of bandwidth and retain low level of queue occupancy. The congestion window size of a TCP sender is carried in the options field on each packet. These proposed schemes will be exercised on routers and make its decision on packet dropping according to the congestion windows. In case of link congestion, the queued packet with the largest congestion window will be dropped from the queue. This will lower the sending rate of its sender and release part of the occupied bandwidth for the use of other competing flows. By so doing, the entire system will approach an equilibrium point with a rapid and fair distribution of bandwidth. As a stateless approach, these proposed schemes inherit numerous advantages in implementation and scalability.
Extensive simulations were conducted to verify the feasibility and the effectiveness of the proposed schemes. For the simple proposed packet discard scheme, Drop Maximum outperforms the other two stateless buffer management schemes, i.e. Drop Tail and Random Early Drop, in the scenario of homogeneous flows. However, in heterogeneous flows, Random Early Drop gains superiority to packet discard schemes due to its additional buffer occupancy control mechanism. To overcome the lack of proper buffer occupancy control, Early Drop Maximum is thus proposed. As shown in the simulation results, this proposed scheme outperforms existing stateless techniques, including Drop Tail, Drop Maximum and Random Early Drop, in many respects, such as a fair sharing of available bandwidth and a short response time for short-lived flows.
