Kapitulní kostel Povýšení sv. Kříže v Litomyšli / Capitular Church of Raising of The Holy Cross in Litomyšl

Vacek, Miloš January 2011 (has links)
1 Abstract At first the Diploma thesis "Capitular Church of Raising of The Holy Cross in Litomyšl" acquaints shortly with history of Litomyšl, which went before and is important for understanding later period - foundation of a Monastery of the Augustinians the Hermits. This is concern mainly about a Monastery of the Benedictines and then about a Monastery of the Premonstratensians. In 1344 a Bishopric was founded in Litomyšl (Chapter 1). The second resident Bishop Jan II. from Středa founded the Monastery of the Augustinians together with the Church of Raising of The Holy Cross in 1356 (Chapter 2). There was an important change in the meaning of the aforementioned Church during the Hussite period - in 1448 a Parish Office was transfered here from destroyed Church of St. Clement (Chapter 3). In this thesis description of architectural history of the Church is not missing; construction of the Church took 20 years and modifications continued until the Hussitism (Chapter 4). Till the 20th century many noble families cared the Church; these families were also owners of a domain of Litomyšl (Chapter 5). Till the 20th century the Church went through many reconstructions and also a few cardinal renovations (Chapter 6). In the beginnig of the 20th century the Provost titular was given Litomyšl Deanery. The Beginnings of Premonstratensian Order in Bohemia. This thesis deals with the beginnings of Premonstratensian Order and their coming to Bohemia. At first, attention is devoted to the history which is briefly characterized by political, economic, and religious conditions in Bohemia in the first half of the twelfth century. The next chapter will take us through the life of St. Norbert, his conversion to Christianity, as well as the foundation and circumstances of the Premonstratensian Order. In this chapter, the Order's form of organisation, characteristics, and daily habits are also discussed. The subject of the fourth chapter is the establishment of the Premonstratensian Order in Bohemia. There are also discussed the persons who had the main credit for coming the Premonstratensian Order to Bohemia. It was their greatest admirer Jindrich Zdik, as well as the bishop Daniel and the provost of Steinfeld named Eberwin. The next section is dedicated to the description of the consequential creation of the first male and female monasteries in Bohemia such as Strahov, Doksany, Litomysl, Zeliv and Lounovice. Pohunek, Michal January 2014 (has links)
Bc. Michal Pohunek: Dějiny kláštera Na Slovanech za husitství v letech 1419 - 1442 Abstract History of the Slavonic Monastery in the Hussite Period between 1419 - 1442 This thesis describes the history of the Slavonic monastery, situated in Nové Město in Prague, and later also known as Emaus. My thesis concerns the period of the Hussite revolt between 1419-1442. At that period Holy Communion in the Slavonic monastery was offered to lay people in the utraquist mode - i.e., both bread and wine - and the monastic community became a part of the Hussite movement. The goals of this thesis are primarily theological, in line with the discipline of church history. First I want to contribute to the understanding of the spiritual and religious atmosphere in the whole of the Czech kingdom of that historical period, by describing its particular history in the Slavonic monastery. Second I would like to contribute to the comprehension of the possibility of Benedictine monastic life in the context of the Hussite movement and the influence of the utraquist monastery on the religious evolution of the time. This needs knowledge of the situation in the monastic community and its neighbourhood in that time. To understand the theological orientation of the monastic community in that period it is necessary to describe the...

Konverze uvolněných historických objektů zámku, Žďár nad Sázavou / Conversion relating to vacant historical buildings of the castle Žďár nad Sázavou

Dzianová, Hana January 2016 (has links)
The area is located in the southern part of the castle complex in Zdar, land in an urban zone. The original function of the castle in Zdar was a Cistercian monastery, founded 02.05.1252, which is credited with the expansion of the region. The castle is close to important UNESCO World Heritage Site - Pilgrimage church of the John of Nepomuk on the Green hill, which is a prerequisite for tourism in the region. The architectural design is based on the idea of recovery of unused buildings for the benefit of tourism on the one hand and on the other hand, it seeks to enrich local communities and the region. Suggest a feature builds on the newly created Museum of the new generation, which represents the potential of tourism. The draft proposal seeks to complete the missing and necessary functions in the area while trying to build on the tradition and the original object function.

Loss of the use of religious buildings reflects the current state of today's society. In regard to the secularization of the population in recent years, the number of religious buildings preserving the original use is still decreasing. The aim of this work is to create a new spatial terms for the use of the building with respect to historical values. The project includes a strategy for the use of church buildings, which is trying to solve the problem in a wider perspective. Františkánský klášter a Římské náměstí v Brně / Franciscan Monastery and Roman Square in Brno

Bulej, Marek January 2019 (has links)
Diploma thesis deals with the new use of the former Franciscan monastery and the modification of the so-called Roman Square in Brno. This district was once Jewish quarter and still has a unique genius loci. The main new function of the monastery is a new branch of the diocesan museum. The Roman Square is a set of diverse places no longer found in the center of Brno. Interventions in its structure are kept to a minimum, in particular the addition of buildings at the gaps. A valuable passage element in the northeastern sector remains accessible through the arcade on the ground floor of the block of flats no. 2. In addition, a new passage will be created in the northwest sector with a covered market. Thanks to these interventions, the whole space of the square will be revived and made more attractive with regard to monument restoration.

The development of the night office in the Šḥimō according to the manuscripts of Mor Gabriel monastery (1474-1900) : A study in liturgical change

Andersson, Johan January 2023 (has links)
This thesis tries to answer the question of how the night office sluthō d-lilyō has developed in the Syrian Orthodox Antiochian tradition as it is expressed in the Syrian Orthodox prayerbook of ܫܚܝܡܐ Šḥimō - which is the prayerbook used on ordinary weekdays and Saturdays throughout the liturgical year except for the great Lent. One of the main liturgical scholars of the 20th century, Robert F. Taft S.J. (+ 2018), refined the methods of Anton Baumstark (+ 1948) and Juan Mateos S.J. (+ 2003), and studied how the Liturgy and Liturgy of the Hours have grown during the centuries. This thesis uses the method(s) of Taft and studies how the night office has grown by comparing the structure of this office in six manuscripts from the Monastery of Mor Gabriel in Tur-’Abdin – one of the major monasteries in the Syrian Orthodox world. The oldest manuscript in our study is dated to 1474 C.E. (perhaps the oldest dated MS of the Šḥimō in the entire world). Few studies have looked into how the Šḥimō tradition has changed during the centuries and in this thesis we will take the night office as an example of liturgical growth and development.

The Creativity of Composer Halyna Ovcharenko in the Ukrainian-European Dialogue of Cultures

Berehova, Olena 17 January 2024 (has links)
Over the centuries, Ukrainian culture developed according to a special algorithm related to the spiritual environment. A major role in this process was played by the Supraśl Monastery, founded at the turn of the XV-XVI centuries at the intersection of Ukrainian, Belarusian and Polish cultures. This process contributed to the good awareness of the monastery in artistic innovations. Therefore, one of the oldest note-linear irmologion was created at the end of the 16th century, and later partes polyphonic singing was introduced in Supraśl. The publication of Supraśl canticles with accompanying scientific research made it possible to reveal the full depth of the cultural and artistic life of the Kyiv Metropolia.

1 Kongregace Milosrdných sester sv. Karla Boromejského na pozadí událostí 19., 20. a 21. století Congregation of Sisters of Mercy of St. Boromeo and the Situation in 19th, 20 th and 21th Century Marcela Batrošová - Bártová This introductory chapter is expected to depict the basic information on which this thesis has been written and its main objective. The impetus of this work has been two reasons. Partly, I had done a similar topic during my bachelor's level where I had addressed the inception and development of the congregation of sisters of mercy of the St. Charles of Baromeo in Bohemia. It was from this work, that I got the motivation to extend the study by trying to further explore on the biographical background of four main leaders of this congregation. I look at their activities from different historical phases in Bohemia. This method of literature review from the archive of the congregation I considered as "untouched field". It was a great challenge that I wouldn't let go. This work in its context could not however, capture the whole scene in detail. Therefore the historical episodes to relevant leaders of this congregation are only a summarized view of important events of the period experienced by the relevant personality. The whole work is divided into four chapters. The first chapter looks into...
