Artikelhantering som förutsättning för en effektiv lagerhållningsstrategi vid ökad efterfrågan : ABC/XYZ-analys och lagerplatsbehov på Micropower / Inventory management as prerequisite for an efficient warehousing management strategy during expansive growth

Olsson, Anton, Siggesson, Oskar, Hedendahl, Mattias, Sandstedt, Max January 2022 (has links)
Title: Inventory management as prerequisite for an efficient warehousing managementstrategy during expansive growth Authors: Oskar Siggesson, Mattias Hedendahl, Anton Olsson & Max Sandstedt Examinator: Hana HulthénTutor: Petra Andersson Background: The company is in a period of strong growth and is suffering from growingpains. The company is moving to a new location with a larger storage space in 2024 butsomething has to be done before the move. Because of high storage levels there is a lack offree storage space and the warehouse is soon reaching its breaking point. Objective: The report investigates how a change in warehousing strategies can helpMicropower cope with the growth in production until 2024. A forecast is created for thefuture need for storage space on a selection of products in a portion of the warehouse. Methods: This study is a case study of Micropower Group. The study uses secondary data inthe form of quantitative data from the company's business system, but to some extent also theauthor’s own observations. The data is used to perform an ABC/XYZ-analysis on thecompany's incoming inventory that forms the basis for segmentation of the articles. The studyalso conducts a sensitivity analysis of the company's storage space needs. Conclusions: By segmenting articles based on the ABC/XYZ-analysis, appropriateinstruments can be presented for the company's articles. The analysis forms a framework forMicropower's inventory management strategy but also for companies in similar situations.Based on the segmentation, information about the article's characteristics and appropriateinstruments. The study's sensitivity analysis of the forecast for storage space requirementsgives the company an indication of what increase in inventory turnover rate is required tomanage production growth. The study finds that in order to manage production growth therewill need to be an equally large increase in inventory turnover rate. Key words: ABC/XYZ-analysis, item management, inventory management strategy, differentiation, classification, forecast, sensitivity analysis, storage space

Ljungh, Albin, Österman, Gustav January 2022 (has links)
In the recent years, the interest in investing on the stock market has increased sharply, and in particular the interest to invest in funds. This entails a problem as the choice to invest in actively or passively managed funds is not self-evident. Previous studies point in different directions when it comes to this dilemma. The purpose of this study is to examine which management strategy has given the most return in relation to the risk and the fee. As the market in recent years has been volatile, this gives the purpose of why this study is relevant. This study's investigates the market from 2017-04-21 and 2022-04-21. To further investigate whether it is profitable to invest in actively managed funds with a higher fee compared to index funds, two hypotheses are formulated. The study investigates a sample of 110 actively and passive managed Swedish equity funds that are only exposed to Swedish companies.  The conclusion of the performance and risk measures of the two management strategies do not differ significantly from each other. Marginally the result of this study indicates that the index funds have an average higher return at the lowest risk. Both hypotheses of this study were rejected when all correlation coefficients showed weak non-correlations and that they were not significant at a 5% significance level. In summary, a higher fee does not necessarily lead to a higher return or a higher risk-adjusted return.

: - En komparativ studie baserad på svenska fonder / Active or Passive, what management strategy has performed best during the Corona Pandemic? : - A comparative study based on Swedish Funds

Adem Nur, Bellal, Huskanovic, Jasmin January 2022 (has links)
This thesis examines whether active or passive fund management has performed better during the corona pandemic in the Swedish fund market. With the help of Refinitiv Eikon and Morningstar, we have collected relevant weekly data for 20 actively managed funds and 12 passively managed funds between 2020-03-06 and 2022-02-11. After careful calculation of the various performance measures in Microsoft Excel, we can state that the passive management has performed better during the corona pandemic, but this result is not a guarantee for future fund choices during future crises or economic shocks.

Avfallshantering i bostadsområden : Rikshem som fallstudie / Waste Management in Residential Areas : Rikshem as a case study

Karout, Kawthar January 2022 (has links)
The study focuses on identifying challenges and solutions for managing tenants' waste living inRikshem’s houses. The work to identify and investigate Rikshem's challenges with waste managementat the national level was based on interviews with various employees in the company as well as anexamination of other internal documents. Three challenges were identified: incorrect sorting, overloaded waste containers and dumping of bulky waste. The causes and consequences of thesechallenges were compiled. The interviews with other property owners confirmed that these challengesrecur with other property owners. In order to solve these problems, different solutions from the interviews were identified and dividedinto practical and strategic solutions using thematic analysis. The solutions were later examined basedon Rikshem's sustainability compass. The strategic solutions such as developing goals and vision andcompiling costs were recommended to be carried out at a company level. The practical solutionsinclude various forms of environmental houses, technical solutions in the form of TV screens, sensorsand container-press, alternatives for bulky waste rooms, personal service and nudging. Thesesolutions, on the other hand, must be further investigated as they would be carried out on the basis ofeach area's individual conditions and needs.Keyword

Municipal solid waste management in the North West Province : governance strategies to address existing performance gaps and capacity constrains / Reece Cronjé Alberts

Alberts, Reece Cronjé January 2014 (has links)
In order to address the growing waste concerns facing South Africa, the Department of Environmental Affairs (DEA) published the National Waste Management Strategy in 2012. The ultimate aim of the strategy is to effect the realisation of the objectives of the National Environmental Management Waste Act (NEMWA). The NEMWA is a sector environmental law based on the waste management hierarchy and its provisions apply to waste management activities in all three government spheres amongst others. The NWMS provides for eight distinct goals with accompanying targets to be met by 2016. Some of these goals and targets speak directly to the solid waste management mandate of local government. Concerns about the capacity of municipalities to see the execution of this mandate however, raise questions about the likelihood of some NWMS goals and targets being met by 2016. The North West Province serves as a case in point where recent reports by the office of the Auditor General have highlighted significant non-compliance in local government with the provisions of the existing waste law and policy framework of South Africa. It appears form these reports that a number of performance gaps and capacity constraints exist as far as it concerns municipal solid waste management. Against this back ground the study questions the governance strategies necessary within the municipalities of the North West Province to: a) address the existing performance gaps and capacity constraints and b) progressively move towards meeting the NWMS goals and targets as far as it concerns solid waste management. The study will explore the objectives, goals and targets of the NWMS against the background of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) and NEMWA, with a specific focus on solid waste management. The study will further review the documented performance gaps and capacity constraints as a far as it concerns solid waste management in municipalities in the North West province, specifically. / M. 台商在中國大陸投資醫療服務業之經營策略研究─以湖南旺旺醫院為例 / Strategy of Investing and Managing Medicare Services in China by Taiwanese: the Case of Hunan Want Want Hospital

Lee, Sue Fang Unknown Date (has links)
Since China started to adopt the reforming and opening-up policy, it has seen rapid economic growth and ever-increasing medicare demand. To join WTO, China opened its medicare service industry for foreigners to invest in year 2000. Given such a background, the Want Want Group pioneered to found the Hunan Want Want Hospital—the first Chinese-foreigner joint ventured large general hospital following the dictum of “Interim Measures for Administration of Chinese-foreign Joint Venture and Cooperative Medical Institutions”. The hospital consequently sets an example of such joint ventures. In addition to discuss the environment of the Chinese medicare service industry and corresponding policies/regulations, this study explores the founding motivations, the entry mode, and the set of management strategies of Hunan Want Want Hospital. Through in-depth interviews and secondary data analysis, the study finds that owing to the still-small number and the still-short history of which, Chinese-foreigner joint hospitals have not yet gained the high ground to challenge public hospitals’ position in China. However, the study also finds that large private hospitals, renowned for their efficiency and quality, own substantial competitive advantage and expansion potentials. As an example for followers to emulate, Hunan Want Want Hospital has nurtured trust among its customers and performed well on several fronts because it developed a comprehensive information system to handle details of complicated medicare procedures, set up concrete rules for layers of management, and well-utilized human resources after more than two years’ operation. As far as the cross-straight medicare cooperation is concerned, this study finds that disparity in human resource cost across the straight may be an issue for Chinese-foreigner joint hospitals in China to address, and suggests that a win-win situation is achievable through the import of Taiwanese management expertise as well as the localization of human resource management. To conclude, Taiwanese medicare services, just like Taiwanese businesses in China, should adapt to Chinese local market environment and change accustomed management mindset so as to survive and grow in the Chinese medicare market.
