It also develops a profile of messiah as developed by Jesus through his deeds. The sense of the force of the messianic construct is examined in the first chapter through the history of the Jewish people. With the initiation of the Monarchy elements such as sacred anointing,, the perpetuity of the Davidic dynasty, and the perpetuation of divine blessing were united.. Some popular messianic leaders such as Athronges, Simon bar Giora, Menahem ben Ezechias, besides the messiah at Qumran are portrayed.. The second chapter studies the exegesis of Mt 11,2-6 in order to ascertain the unique model of messianism that Jesus would have developed through his works. The exegesis of the same text studies the messianic model that John the Baptist expected and constructed through his inquiry. The sick, the lame, the lepers are analyzed in the messianic context of Mathew s and Luke s citations of Isaiah. In the third part the previous chapters are retaken in relation to the messiasnic characteristics of both protagonists. John is tempered by elements such as the desert, atonement, and his concept of baptism. In Jesus´ case the elements that temper his ministry are the messianic servant and the miracle worker. Thus one arrives at a profile of messiah as announced by John the Baptist and developed by Jesus.

Suggesting that he is the Messiah of the excluded. We are studying the concept of messianism. We are looking for the semantic origins of Messiah. We also are studying the development of messianism in ancient Judaism, both as a social phenomenon as doctrine. We have done the exegesis of perícope and the sociological and theological reading. Finally, we are presenting the arguments that our hypothesis: as the pedigree in Matthew, Jesus is the Messiah understood from foreign prostitutes, adulterous women and sinner women. In fact the Jesus of Matthew is the Messiah of the poor and marginalised.

The purpose of this dissertation is to present the circumstances that involved the composition of the Messiah Oratory and to explain how these circumstances influenced it. We are based in an intense research work consulting several bibliographical sources and versions of the oratory, whose objective was to present an opinion based on authors that are referential in the subject. We present succinctly the phases of Händel's life, trying to show the main facts and how they influenced him in the composition of the Messiah. We also clearly portray the pretensions of Charles Jennens in his selection of the text for the Oratory. We include in the appendix the first part of the Messiah that will help in understanding the dissertation presented here, corroborating the truth of the facts presented in it. Finally, we conclude at the end of the dissertation that the Messiah Oratory is the best known of humanity, making its presentation a tradition at Easter, Christmas and other events that so require.

Vidana, Emelie January 2019 (has links)

Gelci André Colli 13 December 2013 (has links)
The study object is the first Servant Song of Isaiah in Isa 42:1-4 and the fourth, in Isa 52:13-53:12. The messianic interpretation of these texts by the writers of the New Testament has been criticized and considered an adaptation for the specific purpose of the disciples of Jesus Christ. However, the thesis indicates, based on the exegesis of the texts and the survey of the ancient traditions about the Messianic figure of the Old Testament, and among the neighboring peoples of Israel in the Ancient Middle East, that these Songs contain ancient traditions about the Messiah, and at the same time it proposes a peculiar combination of hopes, offering a renovation of the traditions around the same figure. The Servant Songs of Yahweh analyzed here, each one in its own way, resort to the traditions of the royalty and of prophecy, broadly surmounting the two traditions. In Deutero Isaiah, the ancient theme of the Messiah developed on the figure of the king, gains new features and presents the Messiah in the figure of the servant. Literary, ethical and anthropological characteristics of the mythical concept of the hero help to renovate and compose this figure. Considering the research and the notion that the Servant Songs are textual plots of high context, the demand of the critics for an explicit and definitive affirmation to consider these texts as integrating the development of the tradition of the Messiah is not justified. One of the ways of making the ancientness of the tradition more dynamic is the use of mythical language and patterns, which are capable of making the servant into the hero and the king, and consequently, the Messiah.

Since they believe in Yeshua as being Messiah, would they have a Christology? This study contemplates the possibility of distinction in the Messianic Judaism theology, which the major hypothesis is: Messianic Jews have a view in the idea of that Messiah approaches more of Messianology than of a Christology. A qualitative research was conducted on the basis of the literature review on the subject. And for that, were selected as Messianic texts for this analysis the Messianic Jewish Manifest, by Rabbi David Stern and the first two volumes of Jewish Objections Against Jesus, by Rabbi Michael Brown. It was discussed concepts such as dogmatic Christology and Messianology, as this last concept was being proposed by David Flusser in addition to checking the convergences and divergences of the idea of the Messiah for Judaism, Christianity and Messianic Judaism in the first century AD. It was also reported about history of the Messianic-Jewish movement. The collected data throughout this research should be considered to point out to the fact that Messianic-Jewish thought about the Messiah does not seem to correspond to Christological thinking.

The petrine community was able to perceive in the suffering and oppression they were experiencing the resemblance of the image of the Suffering Servant to their own suffering and the suffering of Jesus. Going through the pericopes of 1Pd 2,21-25 and Is 53,1-10, it can be concluded that, in the eyes of the petrine community, Jesus perfectly fulfilled the announced Messianic characteristics. In order to understand the Messianic traits in these two communities, classical and contemporary authors were used to establish due dialogue on the issue. The academic reflections about Jesus Messiah Sufferer were made through a bibliographical research, supported by the historical-critical method, enriched by the sociological method and by the conflictual model. In making the approach of Jesus' suffering to that of the Suffering Servant of the Babylonian captivity, the petrine community realized the fulfillment of the Messianic promise, Jesus was the Messiah, not the triumphalistic incarnation that the Jews expected, but the incarnation in suffering. It is through suffering that the Petrine theology of Jesus Messiah the Sufferer is established.

In this we meet the principal point of the messianic thought of Isaiah. It is important to observe that the isaian messianism comes from the conception of messiah that comes to govern from the right and justice, and, thus, to establish the peace. The messianism presented for this prophet don t part of the spheres of the kingdom power, but of the small and fragile persons of the society, endowed with the spirit of Yahweh. It has to be distinguished that the prophecy of Isaiah is a watershed with respect to the messianic theology in the Kingdom of the South, especially the prophets after him. In Isaiah, we meet the rupture with the ruling classes and a warlike messianism. The proposal of this prophet points to a fragile messiah, but that is moved by the blow, by the movement of Yahweh and his action. And thus, Isaiah opens the doors for understanding a poor messiah, as Zechariah recognize, a messiah in service, presented for the Second-Isaiah, or who knows a shepherd messiah, as considered by Micah and Ezekiel and received well for the traditions of the first century (Jo 10,10). The messiah in Isaiah have names and adjectives : Imanuel, child, root of Jessé, but do not have face, do not have geographic localization, is not fit in the messianic type since the davidic of Jerusalem. These messiah can be found at any time with any face, by that is important a new reading messianic presented in texts of the current Christianity. Many of inspired them in the isaian prophecy of 8º. century B.C.

Rosmond, Roland January 2023 (has links)
