A recepção do mito de Heráclio por Gautier d'Arras /

Souza, Guilherme Queiroz de. January 2014 (has links)
Orientador: Ruy de Oliveira Andrade Filho / Banca: Ana Paula Tavares Magalhães / Banca: Terezinha Oliveira / Banca: Celso Taveira / Banca: Ricardo Gião Bortolotti / Resumo: Esta tese analisa a recepção do mito do basileus Heráclio (c. 575-641) pelo clérigo francês Gautier d'Arras. Em Eracle (fim do século XII), romance octossilábico tripartite (6570 versos), Gautier adaptou a trajetória biográfica do soberano bizantino, do nascimento à morte. Da mesma forma, a "atualização" do conteúdo da Reversio tornou o governante bizantino um homem mais familiar ao público do século XII / Abstract: This thesis analyzes the reception of the myth of the basileus Heraclius (ca. 575-641) by the French cleric Gautier d'Arras. In Eracle (late 12th century), tripartite octosyllabic romance (6570 verses), Gautier adapted the biographical trajectory of the Byzantine ruler, from his birth to his death. Especially in the third part of the work, the author was based in the Reversio Sanctae Crucis, liturgical text that popularized the Heraclian myth in the Western Christian imaginary. In Reversio, whose authorship was attributed to the Carolingian Rabanus Maurus, are celebrated the triumph of Heraclius against the Persians and the recovery of the relic of the Holy Cross and of Jerusalem. Initially we analyze the origin of the myth in three authors of the Western Early Middle Ages: two from "historical tradition" (Fredegar and Mozarabic Chronicler) and one from "legendary tradition" (Pseudo-Rabanus). Then, we enter into the core of the thesis, with the exam of the reception and "literarization" of the mythical figure of Heraclius by Gautier d'Arras. Influenced by a symbolic language, the cleric introduced the stages of the hero's childhood/youth (1st part of the romance) and adapted the narrative of the Reversio (3rd part of the romance). With his literary talent and imaginative freedom, Gautier potentiated certain characteristics of the basileus and originally introduced others, which resulted in a singular character. In the same way, the "update" of Reversio content became the Byzantine ruler a more familiar man to the public of the 12th century / Doutor

Carreira de presidentes de empresas: a jornada do herói corporativo / Career of CEOs: the journey of the corporate hero

Silva, Maria Tereza Gomes da 02 October 2012 (has links)
Those who follow the business news have got used to headlines about executives and their incredible professional accomplishments. They take companies from bankruptcy, save jobs, invest millions, and are received by presidents and ministers. Their ascension to the twentieth century followed the evolution of business administration as a science searched by names such as Jules Henri Fayol, Henry Ford, Frederick Taylor e Peter Drucker. Everyone tried to explain how the executive used to work and as a consequence, such organizations could be more successful. While they climbed the social hierarchy - Drucker called them \"essential\" to economic success - a new field of study developed to understand how their careers developed, whether inside or outside companies. Career studies have intensified since the 1970s, coinciding with the economic, social and technological changes that shook the world and demanded a new attitude of the professionals in their careers. At the heart of business, employment relations went from stable to unstable, from everlasting to ephemeral. In this executive rising context, an office in particular has come to represent the aspirations of an entire category: the presidency of the company. Reaching the top of the organizational hierarchy meant getting the symbols of status and power of someone with the ability to decide the destiny of individuals and companies. In other words, it reached the collective imagination of the corporate hero, who overcame all obstacles to succeed. The main objective of this paper is to verify that CEOs, when talking of their careers, also pose as the hero figure, playing the role that society expects of them. A qualitative study was carried out using content analysis of twelve directed interviews granted by corporate CEOs for a television program, in which they responded to open-ended questions about their personal and professional history. It was found that the CEO\'s public reporting on their path has elements that are present in the concept of the hero monomyth described by Joseph Campbell. It was possible to find in the narrative of these CEOs features that are compatible with all 17 steps of a hero\'s journey - from the call to adventure to the return after the conquests. These steps - which illustrate the concept of the monomyth - were used as categories of analysis, along with the \"ordinary world\", which examines the period before the start of the hero\'s journey. We also analyzed the CEOs\' speeches on career and leadership, both generally and with regards to their own experiences. These results suggest that CEOs, when speaking publicly about their careers, personify the role of the corporate hero.

Entre o mito e a história: gênese e desenvolvimento das manifestações atléticas na grécia antiga / Between myth and history: genesis and development of the athletic manifestations in ancient Greece

Machado, Raoni Perrucci Toledo 16 March 2010 (has links)
Even that being impossible to determine the origins of the athletic practices in the ancient Greece, we can say that they exited and were part of the daily of that people at that time, as show us the Homers poetry. Therefore, the priests of those ancient rituals had decided to make an athletic competition to determine who would be charged to conclude the ceremonial. They believed that nothing of important happened without the gods interference, therefore, the winners of each competition were successful, because thus were determined by its destination, becoming heroes, and consequently, chosen by the gods. Therefore, the origins of the main rituals were attributed to the mythological heroes, whose Hesiods cosmogonic structure, place them in a superior level of existence. Then, beyond to search the reactualization of the sacred act realized at the origin, looking for to give continuity to the world as they knew the ceremonials at the same time re-actualize the heroes action at a mythical moment, that it confuse with the reality. In this way, the Games had been the materialization of that mythological structure, having in the heroes the consolidation of that image, at the same time that it provides the humanity character that relieved it all its greatness

Entre as trevas e a luz: o percurso labiríntico em Todos os nomes de José Saramago / Between darkness and light: the labyrintic route in Todos os nomes of José Saramago

Murilo de Assis Macedo Gomes 09 February 2010 (has links)
Entre as trevas e a luz: o percurso labiríntico em Todos os nomes de José Saramago is a study that aims at showing how the path chosen by the novels main character constitutes a process of self-knowledge among the multiple possibilities he comes across in a labyrinthic space. The concepts which structure and contribute to the development of this paper come from different theoretical backgrounds and include the notions of symbol, space, place, non-place, individuation and anima, as articulated by C. G. Jung (1967/ 2000/ 2007), Gilbert Durand (2002), Marc Augé (1994), Gaston Bachelard (1988/ 1990/ 1993/ 1997/ 2001), Michel de Certeau (2001). Our objective is first to consider how the space re-presented by the figures of the door and the stairs acquire symbolical value as they lead the main character from one stage to another, signaling the changes between the I and the other and between darkness and light, as he tries to unveil the meaning of such elements. Then, we focus on the way in which the image of the labyrinth is (re)constructed, both at a mythological level, through intertextual references, and at an individual level as we follow the course marked by the character in his journey through the doors and stairs he encounters in inward and outward spaces, in the pursuit of his anima.

Azorli, Diego Fernando Rodrigues. January 2016 (has links)
Dentre os temas abordados por nós estão o casamento, a vida doméstica, a maternidade, a concepção e outras nuances da vida dessas mulheres / Abstract: We try to think, in this work, a story of women in West Africa of the nineteenth century from the mythology of the orishas. These African gods have their mythological stories full of everyday indications of these Yoruba women who were also portrayed by travelers who passed through Africa in that period, although with different objectives from ours. The day-to-day performance of their social duties of mother and wife, were also found in the revenue collected by Pierre Verger. We complement our analysis with Odus of Ifa - reports of a prime time, where we advise how to live and carry so that you can develop a life according to the will of the gods - where women are interpreted by male perspective, since that only they held the secret of this oracle. The african woman, of the region studied by us, have been described and reinterpreted by men and women who are recalled them after the African Diaspora in the New World, reminiscing masked in the mythologies of the Orishas: Eua, Nanã, Oba, Iansa and Oshun. Among the topics addressed by us are marriage, domestic life, motherhood, design and other nuances of the lives of these women / Mestre

Ephemeris belli Troiani Dictys Cretensis : estudo e tradução /

Silva, Gelbart Souza January 2019 (has links)
Ephemeris ganha importância no tocante à conservação do mito troiano, pois no Ocidente latino, desde o século I a. / Abstract: In this work, we study and translate integrally a late Latin work known as Ephemeris belli Troiani (Diary of the War of Troy ), anonymous and dating from the fourth century AD. Ephemeris reports the events of the Trojan War from the viewpoint of a first person narrator who presents himself as a Cretan soldier named Díctis, enlisted in the troop of the Greek com mander Idomeneu. The account of the battle between Greeks and Trojans, known in literature primarily by the reading of the Homer's Iliad, is dressed in Ephemeris of a rationalistic intention by diminishing the heroes to the regular human condition, by decr easing the performance of the gods and structuring the narrative logically and chronologically. Composed of six chapters, preceded by an epistle and a prologue, the work is a Latin version of a text of second century, written originally in Greek, which is now fragmented. Ephemeris gains importance with regard to the conservation of the Trojan myth. In the Latin West, since the first century BC, the story of Trojan War was less known through Homeric poems and Greek literature in general because of a precario usness in diffusion of the Greek language among the Roman elite. Add to this factor the later and growing pressure of the Church that rejected the polytheistic gods who inhabited the Homeric narrative. In this way other works composed in Latin assumed the transmission of the Trojan story that offered the Homeric epic. Of particular note is Ephemeris, which ... / Mestre

Estética e mitologia na filosofia clássica alemã / Aesthetics and Mythology in German Classical Philosophy

Franceschini, Pedro Augusto da Costa 08 February 2019 (has links)
This thesis intends to render a general outline of the role played by mythology within German aesthetic thinking during the second half of the Eighteenth century, not only as an arrangement of artistic contents, but also as a basis for the very possibility of the establishment of aesthetics as an autonomous discipline. In the works of Herder, Moritz and Schelling, we examine the specific ways by which they sought to deal with the different aspects and difficulties of this project of thought, but also showing a continuity between them. Starting with the question of the use of mythology by modern poetry, Herder encounters in the mythical phenomenon a critical paradigm against normative poetics, as well as a deepening of Baumgartens understanding of aesthetics as a science of sensuous knowledge. Taking even further the foundation of sensibility as the source of all knowledge, he reveals an active and productive side of human sensibility and finds in mythology the best expression for the creative and poetic traits of the spirit. Paying a closer attention to the internal structure of art products and production, Moritz understands the work of art as an autonomous entity, sided by a natural and objective productivity of the artist. Here, phantasy is placed at the crossing of this two interdependent poles, and the author exposes mythology as the language and logic proper to this faculty. Finally, in Schellings first philosophy, and its many shifts, we explain in detail the conditions for a full integration of art and mythology within a systematic reason. Through a new role of productive imagination, a reconnection between the infinite and the finite and a symbolical glimpse of reality, the philosophy of art establishes itself in his works as a speculative deduction of mythology, giving art its universal foundation. Thus, the intersection between aesthetics and mythology offers both a key to the reading of the individual thinking of these authors and a broader view of the intellectual development of this periods, which led aesthetics, as a science of sensibility, to be finally established as a philosophy of art in a speculative and autonomous sense.
