Vliv vzdělanostní struktury obyvatel na regionální rozvoj v České republice a Nizozemsku / Influence of educational structure of inhabitants on regional development in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands

Lašáková, Kristýna January 2010 (has links)
In my master thesis the issue of regional development of the Czech Republic and the Netherlands in relation to the educational structure of their inhabitants has been dealt. The main aim of the paper was determined whether the highest level of education of the economically active population of both countries affects their regional development. I decided to compare the Czech Republic with the Netherlands because both countries are small open economies dependent on export to Germany, members of the European Union. However the Netherlands belongs among the richest countries in the world, has a high standard of living of the population and is characterised for a quality of education system. The relation between regional development and educational structure of inhabitants in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands was examined using the regression linear model. The cohesion regions were chosen as the basic units of comparative analysis in both countries. The regional development were defined according to 5th Cohesion report by 5 macroeconomic indicators. In compliance with output of regression analysis the relation between educational structure of economically active population and macroeconomic indicators, which represented regional development was not entirelly proved.

Diploma thesis directs on poverty and social exclusion in the Czech Republic between years 2005 and 2015. The thesis focuses mainly on at risk of poverty rate, at risk of poverty and social exclusion rate and overall comparison of development of selected factors in NUTS 2 regions. The aim is to assess the impact of changes in the structure of education, economic development, employment and unemployment on poverty in selected regions of the Czech Republic and comparison of these regions among themselves. Among the selected regions are Praha, Severovýchod, Jihovýchod and Moravskoslezsko. The main hypothesis is the assumption that regions with lower share of tertiary educated people will show a lower percentage of people at risk of poverty and social exclusion.

Podpora ochrany životního prostředí z fondů Evropské unie se zaměřením na NUTS 2 Severovýchod

Bílková, Kateřina January 2006 (has links)
Iniciativa INTERREG IIIA má z hlediska sledovaného regionu značný význam a to z důvodů zlepšení celkové socioekonomické úrovně příhraničních regionů, protože je znevýhodněn svou periferní polohou.

Socioekonomické a demografické souvislosti spotřeby potravin domácností v České republice

Odrážková, Šárka January 2016 (has links)
The thesis is focused on analysis of the socioeconomic and demographic context of food consumption. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to literary review of resources which is focused on regional disparities and food consumption. In the theoretical part are defined the selected socioeconomic and demographic indicators and similarly conceived approaches of food consumption. In the practical part of the thesis is introduced a brief description of selected territorial units, which are divided into clusters by the cluster analysis based on their similarity/dissimilarity in selected indicators. Based on the results of both cluster analyzes it was found that there is a certain context between the selected socioeconomic and demographic indicators and food consumption in households in the analyzed territorial units. Recommendations for improvement in underdeveloped regions are made in the end of the thesis.

Regionálna diferenciácia príčin úmrtnosti vo vybraných krajinách strednej Európy / Regional differentiation of cause-specific mortality in selected countries of Central Europe

Domonkos, Zsolt January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to analyse the differentiation in mortality rates at the international and regional level (NUTS 2) in selected countries of Central Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Switzerland). At the country level, it examines the development of total mortality and cause- specific mortality since 1990. At the regional level, it evaluates the regional differences in total mortality and cause-specific mortality in the period 2008-2010. The thesis makes use of demographic indices (life expectancy, dispersion measure of mortality, lifespan disparity, standardised death rate) and tools of statistical analysis (Poisson regression, cluster analysis). The analysis reveals that mortality rates have decreased in Central European countries, although significant differences in the intensity of mortality can still be observed at the international as well as regional level. Vliv finanční krize na konvergenci regionů Spolkové republiky Německo

Konvalinová, Vendula January 2017 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the impacts of financial and economic crisis on thirty-eight NUTS 2 regions of Germany. This includes identifying trends in regional convergence/divergence for the reference period 2004-2013 and determining the probable cause of observed disparities. For this purpose, cluster analysis and beta-convergence analysis are applied and conducted for the periods before and at the start of the financial crisis and during the outbreak of the economic crisis and after its overcoming. The impacts of the crisis on economic development of each region are also investigated by using important macroeconomic indicators.

After the operationalization of capital types and economic performance that was based on literature research, the relationships were analysed using the example of European regions (specifically NUTS 2). The analysis is focused on the regional differentiation of capital types and economic maturity. It also monitors the relationships between capital types and economic performance. This thesis is based on the latest statistical data from offices and surveys that deal with the quality of the institutional environment or the characteristics of social capital. The characteristics of capital types are shown in maps. For the statistical data analysis, we used factor, correlation and regressive analysis. Keywords: human, social and institutional capital, economic performance, GDP per capita, regional differentiation, European regions NUTS 2

Effects of minimum wages: do regional data tell a different story? / Effect of minimum wages: do regional data tell a different story?

Májková, Tereza January 2017 (has links)
This thesis examines the effects of an increase of minimum wage level on unemployment, employment, disposable income and risk of poverty. We contribute to the existing literature by directly comparing results resulting from two similar datasets, one working with national, one with regional data. We use different sets of explanatory variables to see whether they affect the results of the estimation. On national level, our results confirm positive effect of minimum wages on employment of adults and on disposable income - but these findings were not confirmed on regional level. With respect to the regional perspective, the results are however subject to substantial uncertainty and are prone to substantial sensitivity to empirical specification. We attribute this uncertainty mainly to the quality of the data - small number of observations together with large heterogeneity.
