Pretende-se observar nas perspectivas que se abrem a partir da leitura que os manuseios dessas imagens oferecem, o vislumbre de uma via de acesso distinta para interpretar o complexo quadro da paisagem urbana das vilas e cidades brasileiras da primeira metade do s?culo XIX. Membros da Miss?o Diplom?tica Inglesa, chefiada por Sir Charles Stuart e cujo objetivo era a negocia??o do reconhecimento por parte de Portugal do recente imp?rio brasileiro, foram designados a retratar e documentar o trajeto em solo brasileiro da comitiva. A an?lise fundamentou-se na revis?o bibliogr?fica, com enfoque na problematiza??o do material iconogr?fico produzido por Burchell e Landseer como fonte historiogr?fica sobre o assunto e na an?lise da iconografia elencada por meio de sua leitura formal e interpretativa. O material iconogr?fico revela transforma??es hist?ricas vividas pela sociedade ao qual pertence; contudo, h? mais neste discurso: obras de arte n?o s?o espelho, nos transmitem aspectos da realidade a partir de estratagemas: ora deslocando ou desfocando elementos, ora redimensionando aspectos do real. Investidas de car?ter documental desde a sua produ??o, a obra dos dois viajantes relativas ?s paisagens urbanas das prov?ncias mostrou-se permeada por esquemas figurativos, cujo emprego adiciona camadas de significa??o ainda pouco exploradas. / The representation of the Brazilian landscape of the early nineteenth century set up as an important issue for the construction of imagery identity of the empire; inserted in this iconographic corpus, there is the production of European travelers who, under the most distinctive insignia, reported to pen and ink, watercolors and inks, changes in the colony just heave the seat condition of the Portuguese Empire. This pictorial production helped in the construction of what is as Brazilian urban landscape of the nineteenth century, permeated the studies and has been consolidated and legitimized by historiography during the first half of the twentieth century. This thesis aims to analyze the iconographic representations of the urban landscape of the provinces of Pernambuco, Bahia and the G?o-Para held in the first quarter of the nineteenth century by two English travelers: William John Burchell and Charles Landseer. It is intended to observe the perspectives that open from reading the handlings of these images offer the glimpse of a different approach for interpreting the complex picture of the urban landscape of Brazilian towns and cities in the first half of the nineteenth century. Members of the Diplomatic English Mission, headed by Sir Charles Stuart, whose goal was the negotiation of the recognition by Portugal of the recent Brazilian Empire, were designed to depict and document the path on Brazilian soil of the entourage. The analysis was based on the literature review, focusing on questioning the iconographic material produced by Burchell and Landseer as a historiographical source on the subject and analysis of iconography selected through formal and interpretative reading. The iconographic material reveals historical transformations experienced by the society to which it belongs; however, there is more in this speech: works of art are not mirror, give us aspects of reality from stratagems: either shifting or blurring elements, now resizing aspects of the real. documentary character of investees from its production, the work of two travelers on urban landscapes of the provinces proved to be permeated by figurative schemes whose job adds layers of meaning still little explored.

A presente pesquisa consiste em uma reflexão sobre os trabalhos realizados entre os anos de 2012 a 2014. A produção parte da observação de uma presença na paisagem urbana marcada pela resistência de pequenas vegetações, consideradas ervas daninhas, que insistem em sobreviver. Utilizando a articulação entre fotografia e desenho, procuro apresentar possíveis vistas da cidade explorando essas micropaisagens e reapresentando-as sob outra perspectiva pelo uso da ampliação e passagem dos meios. Perpassam questões referentes ao trânsito entre as linguagens e o caráter ficcional atribuído às imagens ao produzir um deslocamento do referente pelo deslocamento do meio. São ressaltadas, ao final, mudanças e embates vivenciados ao longo do processo de instauração dos trabalhos e desenvolvimento da pesquisa, questões ainda em suspensão, e possíveis reverberações a partir da realização deste estudo. / The research in question consists in a reflection about the works made between 2012 and 2014. The production starts from the observation of a presence in the urban landscape, characterized by little vegetations resistances, considered weeds, that insist in survive. Using an articulation between photography and draw, I intent to present possible city’s views, exploiting these micro-landscapes and resubmitting them under other perspective by the use of amplification and passage between medias. It brings questions about the traffic between languages and the fictional character devoted to images when producing a displacement of the referral by the environment displacement. At the end, the changes and handling lived along the work’s instauration process, research’s development and possible reverberations from this study are highlighted, questions still in suspension.

O uso da paisagem para comunicar-se é uma prática humana que antecede o surgimento das civilizações. Os vestígios produzidos, desde épocas pré-históricas até a contemporaneidade, têm fornecido às Ciências a possibilidade de compreender a experiência do mundo por indivíduos e grupos que deixam seus sinais em áreas remotas ou superpovoadas. Este estudo aborda, historicamente, a apropriação das paisagens urbanas contemporâneas por duas formas de manifestação que, no Brasil, contrariam as interdições legais e põem em crise as noções de propriedade, direito à expressão e à livre comunicação, além de manter em discussão uma proposta de redefinição dos valores da Arte: a pichação e o grafite. / The use of landscape for communication is a human practice that precedes the emergence of civilizations. The signs produced, since prehistoric period up to the contemporary era, provide to Sciences the possibility of understanding the experience of the world by individuals and groups that leave their signs in remote or overpopulated areas. This study adresses, historically, the seizure of the contemporary urban landscapes for two by two ways of artistic manifestation which, in Brazil, contradict legal interdictions and lead to put in crisis the sense of property, right to expression and free communication, besides keeping in discussion a redefinition of the Art values: pichação and grafite.

A dinâmica das paisagens e as consequentes alterações no uso e cobertura da terra podem ser analisadas a partir de modelagens espaciais, que auxiliam na interpretação das variáveis responsáveis pelas alterações na paisagem, bem como viabilizam a criação de cenários distintos visando ao conhecimento do impacto produzido pela inserção ou supressão de variáveis na simulação de mudanças da paisagem. Em Guarulhos, a instalação de grandes rodovias conectando o município de São Paulo ao Vale do Paraíba e, posteriormente, de um terminal aeroportuário, em consonância com diferentes períodos de crescimento econômico e expansão urbana, impactaram fortemente na formação da paisagem encontrada neste município, principalmente com a instalação dos grandes pátios industriais e bairros residenciais de média e baixa renda. Com isso, a presente pesquisa buscou avaliar as mudanças no uso e cobertura da terra a partir de produtos de sensoriamento remoto para identificar a influência advinda da instalação dos grandes pontos de conexão do município, por meio de modelagem com autômatos celulares (cellular automata - CA). Dentre os principais resultados obtidos está a influência positiva nas transições para a classe residencial regular exercida pela instalação do aeroporto no primeiro período de análise (1986 a 1993), e a repelência a essa transição nos anos seguintes. Resultados similares foram obtidos na avaliação da influência das grandes vias de acesso na implantação dos parques industriais e galpões logísticos. A modelagem dinâmica, por meio do software Dinamica-EGO, mostrou-se uma ferramenta bastante versátil para avaliação da influência das variáveis espaciais na dinâmica das paisagens urbanas. / The dynamics of landscapes and the consequent changes in land use and land cover can be analyzed according to spatial models, which helps the interpretation of the variables responsible for territorial changes, as well as enables the creation of distinct scenarios in order to know the impact produced by the insertion or suppression of variables in the simulation of landscape changes. In the municipal area of Guarulhos, the installation of large highways linking the municipality of São Paulo to the Paraíba Valley and an airport terminal afterwards, in accordance with different periods of economic growth and urban expansion, had a strong impact on the landscape found in this municipality, mostly because of the installation of large industrial yards and residential neighborhoods of medium and low income. Hence, this research aimed to evaluate the changes in land use and land cover according to remote sensing products, and it also aimed to try to identify the influence of the installation of big connection points of the municipality through modeling with cellular automata (CA). Among the main results obtained are the positive influence on the transitions to the regular residential class exercised by the airport installation in the first period of analysis (1986 to 1993), and the repellency of this transition in the following years. A similar result was obtained in the evaluation of the influence of the great access roads in the implantation of industrial parks and logistic sheds. Thus, the dynamic modeling through the Dynamica-EGO software proved to be a very versatile tool to evaluate the influence of spatial variables on the dynamics of urban landscapes.

O campo de sinalização de parques urbanos requer metodologia de desenvolvimento de projetos com procedimentos transdisciplinares e complexos que pedem expertises variadas, desde aspectos objetivos como repertório técnico-construtivo e gráfico, até saberes mais subjetivos tais como a percepção espacial, antropologia do espaço e comunicação. A sistematização dos elementos componentes do projeto de sinalização auxilia na compreensão desta complexidade. A pesquisa elabora, fundamentada em revisão bibliográfica, um apanhado histórico da evolução técnica, de linguagem e dos elementos estruturadores em projetos de sinalização em parques urbanos. A partir deste repertório metodológico, analisa a sinalização em 06 parques no município de São Paulo que, em contextos diferentes, elaboraram respostas práticas a essa complexidade. / Signage in urban parks requires project development methodology with transdisciplinary and complex procedures that demand various types of expertise, ranging from objective aspects such as a technical-constructive and graphic repertoire, to more subjective knowledge such as spatial perception, anthropology of the space, and communication. The systematization of composing elements in the signage project helps understand this complexity. Using a bibliographical revision as a base, this research elaborates a historical overview of the techinical evolution, language and structuring elements in signage projects in urban parks. As a response to this methodological repertoire, it analyzes the signage in 06 parks in the city of São Paulo that have offered practical answers to this complexity, according to different contexts.

A partir de duas temáticas principais - paisagem e imaginário - esta investigação buscou identificar valores patrimoniais na paisagem, reconhecendo-a como um bem cultural, que envolve os conceitos de patrimônio material, imaterial e natural. A pesquisa teve como objetivo buscar os traços e registros do passado que identificassem as atribuições de valor à paisagem da cidade de São Francisco do Sul, SC, do início do século XX, bem como seus elementos mais representativos, suas identidades e seus lugares de memória. O estudo deu-se a partir da análise da representação da paisagem de São Francisco do Sul em cartões-postais produzidos e circulados no período de 1900-1930, entendendo o estudo das representações como um meio de aproximação ao imaginário da época. Adotou-se uma visão integradora da paisagem, considerando tanto suas características subjetivas/simbólicas como suas características objetivas/morfológicas. Sendo assim, montou-se uma grade interpretativa que possibilitou a análise de descritores icônicos e descritores sociais e de circulação. A interpretação dos dados revelou que a paisagem estudada foi possuidora de valores patrimoniais que foram entendidos como valores estéticos; valores naturais e ecológicos; valores produtivos; valores de uso social; e valores simbólicos e identitários. / Taking two subjects as focus - landscape and imaginary - this research aimed to identify heritage values in landscape, as we recognize landscape as a cultural property that includes concepts of tangible, intangible and natural heritage. The investigation had the objective of searching vestiges and registers of the past that could identify the attribution of values in the landscape of São Francisco do Sul, SC, as well as its most representative elements, its identities and its places of memory. The study used postcards of São Francisco do Sul produced and distributed from 1900 to 1930, as we considered the study of representations as one means of proximity to the imaginary of that period. We used an integrated vision of landscape, considering not only its morphological but also its symbolic characteristics. Constructing an interpretative frame, that made possible the reading of iconic, social and circulation describers, we could conclude that the landscape of São Francisco do Sul had significant social use, aesthetical, natural, ecological, productive and symbolical heritage values.

Com o advento da modernização e tecnificação da agricultura, as cidades locais especializam-se para atender a determinados tipos de produção que se encontram desenvolvidas no seu entorno rural. Esses fatores podem ser observados no município de Santa Vitória do Palmar, situado no extremo sul do estado do Rio Grande do Sul. A urbanização afeta tanto a cidade como o campo, e induz mudanças análogas; o que nos leva a questionar de que maneira, através e a partir da paisagem urbana, pode ser percebido o movimento inerente ao processo de (re) produção espacial e seu conteúdo. Esta pesquisa apresenta uma discussão sobre as relações sociais que consolidam a estrutura atual da cidade de Santa Vitória do Palmar, bem como sobre o papel do poder público no processo de produção da cidade e definição de seu papel urbano. Ao longo dos anos, observa-se uma diminuição da população total do município e da população rural, e aumento da população urbana, visto que a cidade torna-se residência dos trabalhadores agrícolas. A expansão da população urbana faz surgir novos atores sociais o que traz consequências políticas importantes, implicando analisar quais escalas de agentes sociais e relações de poder que atuam neste local. A especialização de atividades e do comércio para atender o processo de produção realizado no campo, bem como a construção de moradias populares por parte do poder público para atender a população de baixa renda, proveniente do campo, são mudanças perceptíveis na paisagem da cidade que traduzem as relações existentes na sociedade. Portanto, analisar as mudanças impressas na paisagem urbana é uma maneira de compreender o mundo em que vivemos, ou seja, o espaço da sociedade humana, onde os homens habitam e, ao mesmo tempo, produzem modificações que constroem e (re) constroem a si e ao espaço permanentemente. / As modernization and implementation of technologies in agriculture arise, local cities specialize to assist some kinds of production which are developed at the rural areas. These aspects may be observed in the city of Santa Vitória do Palmar, which is in the Deep South of Rio Grande do Sul state. Urbanization affects both city and countryside, and it takes to analogue changes. These changes lead us to question how the intrinsic movement to the process of spatial (re)production and its content may be understood through and from urban landscape. This research presents a discussion about social relationships which consolidate the current structure of Santa Vitória do Palmar, as well as the public administration's role in the process of production of the city and the definition of its urban role. Over the years, it is observed that the total amount of people of the city and the countryside is decreasing, while the urban population is increasing, as the city is home of many farmers. The expansion of urban population creates new social actors, which brings important political consequences, implying the analysis of the kinds of social agents and the relations of power in this place. The government's specialization of activities and trade intending to answer to the process of production in the countryside, as well as to build popular dwellings to help low class people, from the countryside, are noticeable changes in the landscape of the city, which translate the relationships in the society. Therefore, analyzing changes in the urban landscape is a way of understanding the world where we live, in other words, the space of human society, where men live and, at the same time, produce changes to (re)build themselves and their space permanently.

Tratase de um trecho que acompanha a orla da cidade junto à baía de Guanabara, e que inclui também os maciços do Parque Nacional da Tijuca e sua grande floresta urbana. Apesar da justificativa do valor patrimonial, o trecho da área urbana localizada entre a montanha e o mar não faz parte da delimitação da paisagem cultural. Essa ocorrência levantou questionamentos quanto ao trato da paisagem como patrimônio, principalmente das paisagens urbanas. Sendo assim, o objetivo da pesquisa foi verificar em que medida os critérios da UNESCO para inscrição de paisagens culturais contemplam as características urbanas da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. A partir de um estudo teórico-conceitual sobre a paisagem e de sua relação com o patrimônio foi definida a abordagem da paisagem, segundo Berque, como uma entidade relacional entre o homem e o meio. Então parte-se para caracterizar a cidade do Rio de Janeiro por sua riqueza geográfica ao longo da história analisando a relação intrínseca cidade e natureza no processo de urbanização que revelou sua paisagem ao mundo para designá-la de valor excepcional universal. Práticas locais, como a Convenção Europeia da Paisagem, mostraram que a UNESCO não tem contemplado as demandas contemporâneas das paisagens, pois os critérios utilizados pela organização privilegiam a relação literal entre homem e meio, como as atividades agrícolas ou espirituais, e pouco atendem aos contextos mais complexos como os urbanos. A inclusão da paisagem carioca na Lista do Patrimônio Mundial se configura como uma exceção, assim como a paisagem cultural da cidade turca Diyarbakir. Em ambas o caráter das paisagens culturais está vinculado aos atributos naturais, sendo valorizadas por suas visadas, distanciando-se dos atributos urbanos considerados de difícil gestão. Essas duas questões, a dificuldade de gestão e o trato da paisagem como “imagem”, negligenciam suas características culturais intangíveis, e são responsáveis pela invisibilização das paisagens urbanas como patrimônio cultural. / Rio de Janeiro’s cultural landscape was registered on the World Heritage List from UNESCO in 2012 under the title Rio de Janeiro, Carioca Landscapes between the Mountain and the Sea. The subject matter is a segment that follows the waterline between the city and the Guanabara Bay, including the Tijuca National Park mountain range and its large urban forest. Despite the justification of the heritage value, the urban area located between the mountain and the sea was disregarded in the delimitation of the cultural landscape. This incident raised questions on the treatment of landscape as heritage, especially with urban landscapes. Thus, the objective of the research was to determine to what extent the UNESCO criteria for inscription of cultural landscapes include the urban characteristics of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Based on a theoretical-conceptual study of this landscape and its relationship with the concept of heritage the approach adopted has been defined the landscape, according Berque as a relational entity between man and the environment. So part to characterize the city of Rio de Janeiro by its geographical wealth throughout history by analyzing the intrinsic relationship between city and nature in the urbanization process which revealed the landscape to the world to designate it universal exceptional value. Local practices such as the European Landscape Convention, showed that UNESCO has not contemplated contemporary demands on landscapes; the criteria used by the organization favor the literal relationship between man and environment, such as agricultural or spiritual activities, and just meet the most complex environments such as urban. The inclusion of Rio's landscape in the World Heritage List is configured as an exception, as well as the cultural landscape of the Turkish city Diyarbakir. In both the character of cultural landscapes is linked to natural attributes, being valued for their target, distancing himself from urban attributes considered unwieldy. These two issues, the difficulty of management and landscape treatment as "image", neglect their intangible cultural characteristics, and are responsible for the invisibility of urban landscapes as cultural heritage.
