Orientador: Teresa Maria Malatian / Banca: Wagner da Silva Teixeira / Banca: Marisa Saens Leme / Resumo: O presente trabalho tem como principal objetivo compreender a organização da política paulista durante o período democrático entre o Estado Novo e a Revolução de 64, enfatizando as formas usadas pelo político paulista Jânio Quadros para manter a sua imagem ao longo de sua trajetória política no período estudado, bem como suas escolhas políticas e seus modos de administração. Aliado a esse aspecto e entendendo a imprensa como um veículo que, além de noticiar algo procura formar opiniões sobre os mais variados assuntos, o objetivo da dissertação é confrontar a análise do político com o discurso do jornal O Estado de São Paulo, periódico com maior circulação no período e que possuía em seus meios jornalistas e profissionais envolvidos em várias atividades ligadas à organização social, procurando interação tanto com seus leitores como com o resto da sociedade / Abstract: This work has as objective understand the political organization of São Paulo during the democratic period between the Estado Novo and the Revolução de 64, emphasizing the ways which the politic of São Paulo Jânio Quadros used to maintain its image throughout his political career during the study period, as well as their political choices and their modes of administration. Allied to this aspect and understanding the press as a vehicle what publishing something to strive to form opinions about various subjects, the objective of this work is confront the political analysis with the speech of the journal O Estado de São Paulo, the greater periodical of the São Paulo what has journalists and professionals involved with politics, searching interaction with the readers and the rest of society / Mestre
