The thesis focuses on the issue of hiring and adaptation process of new employees in the company XY, branch Czech Republic. It is divided into two main parts theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is based on literature study defines basic terms, context and theoretical background related to the respective area. The practical part is a presentation of selected listed company and is dedicated to the analysis and evaluation of the current process of hiring and adaptation process in this company. The aim of the practical part is based on an analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the current concept of hiring and adaptation process in a selected company and to provide suggestions and recommendations that could lead to the entire process improvement.

Scenario Planning Process of Energy Companies in SwedenKrishnan, Vinod January 2011 (has links)
Scenario Planning as a tool for planning for the future has widespread use in the industry today and enjoys an envious status as the primary tool of futures thinking. However, the development in this field has been mired with confusion on its application and purpose. Since popularized by Shell in its use to anticipate the oil crisis in the 70s, scenario thinking has grown in use to aid public policy making, corporate strategic planning and even in the natural sciences. This paper attempts to study the scenario planning process design from a corporate perspective by studying its use in energy companies in Sweden. Energy companies present an ideal industry for this study as it is embroiled with obvious uncertainties in future power and carbon prices but also with subjective uncertainties tied to the political interest in the industry and the industry being in the centre of the climate change debate. Furthermore, the extremely long term nature of investment projects in this industry further exacerbates the need for deep insights into the future. This paper studies the nature of the scenario planning process based on two past papers; that have identified the key characteristics of scenarios. Firm specific internal factors are used to explain the differences in the process designs found in empirical data. Finally a framework to design a scenario planning process is proposed. This framework takes into account these internal factors to enable companies to leverage their internal resources and make full use of scenario planning as a tool.

A Framework for Monitoring and Adapting Business Processes Using Aspect-Oriented URNPourshahid, Alireza 28 April 2014 (has links)
Context:
Organizations strive to improve their business processes, and adaptive business processes have recently attracted much attention in that context. However, much research in that area has a narrow focus and does not consider a comprehensive view of the organization and its goals. In addition, Business Intelligence-based monitoring methods are useful for business process improvement but they often present information in a format that is not entirely suited for decision making.
Objectives:
The main objectives of this thesis are to provide:
• A framework to model goals, processes, performance, situations, and improvement patterns using one modeling notation, in an iterative and incremental manner;
• A method for the modeling and analysis of cause-effect relationships between indicators used to measure goal satisfaction; and
• A technique allowing the detection of undesirable, sub-optimal conditions and the application of improvement patterns to the context
Method:
We develop an iterative framework based on the User Requirements Notation (URN) for modeling, monitoring and improving business organizations and their business processes. In addition, we introduce a formula-based evaluation algorithm allowing better analysis of the relationships between the business performance model elements (namely indicators). Furthermore, we use a profiled version of the Aspect-oriented URN (AoURN) with extensions (Business Process Pattern profile), for detecting undesirable conditions and for business process adaptation. We validate the novelty and feasibility of our approach by performing a systematic literature review, by assessing it against Zellner’ mandatory elements of a method, by developing tool support, by performing a pilot experiment and by using real-life examples from different sectors (healthcare and retail).
Results:
The two examples show that through the framework’s iterative approach, organizations at different levels of maturity in their business improvement journey can benefit from the framework. Furthermore, our systematic literature review shows that although there are existing works that enable our vision, most of them have a narrow focus and do not cover the three organization views that are of interest in this research. AoURN allows analysts to find repeated patterns in a context and bundle goal, performance and process models as a self-contained unit. AoURN hence enables the modeling of complex circumstances together with analysis techniques for what-if analysis and process adaptation, all using a unified and integrated modeling language. Finally, the pilot experiment suggests that, with some level of documentation and training, users who are already familiar with URN can use the profiled AoURN provided in this thesis as well as the discussed improvement patterns.

Les travaux de recherche présentés dans ce mémoire concernent la prédiction et l’amélioration des performances des machines-outils à structure parallèle dans le but de produire des pièces conformes à la qualité requise en un temps minimal. Le problème abordé permet de déterminer l’influence de la structure sur la productivité et la qualité de la pièce usinée dans le contexte de l’Usinage à Grande Vitesse de pièces automobiles et aéronautiques. Ce travail propose alors des avancées suivant deux axes fondamentaux : - la modélisation du comportement anisotrope de la cellule d’usinage ; - la proposition de nouvelles méthodes d’adaptation du processus.Ces deux axes sont dans un premier temps abordés vis-à-vis d’un objectif d’amélioration des temps de déplacement d’outil hors matière. La méthode développée nécessite l’élaboration d’un modèle cinématique des déplacements hors matière spécifique à chaque structure de machine outil et basé sur l’utilisation d’une loi de commande articulaire. Un outil d’aide à la mise en place d’un usinage sur machine-outil à structure parallèle est ensuite proposé. Cet outil repose sur un modèle numérique de comportement cinématique utilisant une loi de commande de déplacement dans le repère lié à la pièce permettant de prédire le temps d’usinage en fonction des trajectoires. L’optimisation du processus d’usinage s’appuie également sur la prédiction de la qualité d’usinage. Pour cela, un modèle expérimental basé sur une campagne de mesures effectuée sur la machine-outil considérée a été développé. Ces approches sont appliquées à des usinages de pièces industrielles sur la machine-outil PCI Tripteor X7. Leur originalité réside dans l’amélioration des performances des machines-outils à structure parallèle à partir de l’analyse du comportement durant l’usinage et permet, par conséquent, d’étendre leur domaine d’application. / The research works presented here deal with the prediction and the performance improvement of parallel kinematic machine tools in order to produce machine parts with a specified quality level and in a minimum time. The problem treated allows determining the structure influence on the productivity and the machined part quality in the context of High Speed Machining for automotive and aeronautical parts.So, these works propose improvements along two fundamental ways : - modelling of the machine tool anisotropic behaviour ; - new methods of process adaptation. These approaches lead in a first time to a study of the time taken by the linking tool movement between cutting operations. The developed method is based on the definition of a kinematic model of linking tool movements, specific to each machine-tool and based on a command law defined in the joint workspace. A helpful resource for the setting up of machining with a parallel kinematic machine tool is then proposed. It is based on a numerical model of the kinematic behaviour using a command law of the movement defined in the programming workspace and providing a prediction of machining time. The process optimization is also based on the machining quality prediction brought by an experimental model enhanced by a measurement campaign realized on the considered machine tool. These approaches are applied to industrial parts with the PCI Tripteor X7 machine-tool. Their originality lies in the improvement of parallel kinematic machines tool performances from an analysis of the machine behaviour during the machining, and consequently allows extending their application field.

Successful coping with adaptation process by a nurse newly joining an intensive medicine workplace is quite a complicated process. Mastering sophisticated instrumentation, specialist demands of nursing care provision and everyday physical load as well as psychical stress expose each newly coming nurse to a wide spectre of demands the unconditioned coping with which is a basic precondition of successful integration to an elite team. Each incoming nurse (not just at an intensive care workplace) should be particularly supported by her nurse manager in the far from easy adaptation process, who can substantially help a new nurse adapt to the new environment and become an equivalent team member. The Thesis is aimed at the role of a nurse manager in comforting an adaptation process of a nurse joining an ARD and an ICU. The aim of the Thesis was to map the role of a nurse manager in adaptation process of a nurse joining an ARD and an ICU and to find out how such a nurse manager helps a nurse joining an ARD or an ICU with adaptation. Further aims were to map the process of adaptation of a nurse joining an ARD or an ICU itself and to examine the factors that mostly influence the adaptation process of a nurse joining an ARD or an ICU. A combination of qualitative and quantitative research was applied to the research part of the Thesis. A semi-standardized interview conducted with ARD and ICU ward sisters in selected hospitals in Prague was chosen as the data collection technique for the qualitative part. A questionnaire designed for nurses working at ARDs and ICUs in selected Prague hospitals, who themselves were undergoing or have recently undergone such an adaptation process was chosen as the data collection technique for the quantitative part. The aims of the Thesis have been met. The research results clearly showed that the adaptation process of a new nurse is not only based on effective specialist training, but also in integration of the nurse into the existing working team. It is thus necessary for a nurse manager to take sufficient care to the adaptation process and help a new nurse become an equivalent member of the team, which will thus achieve the set goals of the department as well as the whole organization under her efficient guidance. The results of our research may thus contribute to better awareness of the individual motivation factors of the adaptation process among the involved public. Upon the information found about functioning of a nurse manager in the process of adaptation of a nurse joining an ARD or an ICU a thought map was created, which might help as inspiration or as a manual for execution of this highly demanding process itself.

The thesis deals with the process of adaptation to nursery school environment. Theoretical findings are supplemented with research reflection of author's own experience with children entering a nursery school. In the theoretical part, the process of adaptation and its typical phases are described. Furthermore, determinants influencing successful adaptation are examined: teachers, parents, child's readiness, the nursery school itself. In this work, a case study is presented, based on the observation of 18 children entering the nursery school in the school year of 2016/17 and 2017/18, and interviews with parents. Based on the case study, the thesis identifies problems that may arise during adaptation. Finally, the thesis sums up practical recommendations: for parents and for nursery school teachers.

This thesis explores the evolving landscape of digital forensics in the context of quantum computing advancements, which challenge the foundational integrity of digital evidence. The focus is on the globally recognized digital forensic guidelines, NIST SP 800-86 and ISO/IEC 27037:2012, and their capacity to safeguard evidence against the unique capabilities of quantum systems. This thesis identifies vulnerabilities within existing forensic models through a comprehensive document analysis and expert interviews and proposes strategic modifications to enhance their robustness. Key findings suggest that traditional digital forensic methodologies, while robust under current technological standards, must address quantum data’s multi-state, entanglement, and no-cloning properties, which can fundamentally alter digital evidence. The thesis advocates for a paradigm shift in forensic processes to incorporate quantum-resistant techniques that ensure the integrity and admissibility of evidence. Additionally, it highlights the necessity for ongoing education and collaborative research to effectively adapt digital forensics to this new technological era. This research contributes to the theoretical framework and practical applications of digital forensics, aiming to future-proof forensic practices against the disruptive nature of quantum computing.
