Att möta familjer med migrationsbakgrund : Socialsekreterares perspektiv på bemötande och makt / To meet families with migrational backgrounds : Social secretary´s perspectives on encounter and authorityMoreton, Hanna, Brevik, Sara January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of how, encounter and the use of authority, affect the meetings between social secretaries and families with foreign backgrounds from a social secretary's standpoint. We conducted a qualitative study with semi-structured interviews as our data collection method. The interview material is based on interviews with seven social workers working at a social welfare office in a medium-sized municipality in Sweden focusing on child and family issues. The thesis is based on the study's two central themes: Encounter and Authority. We have found in our study that having a positive attitude has a great impact on building confidence and a meaningful relationship between social services and families with migration backgrounds. By treating families with respect, having an open mind and using a skilled interpreter, social workers felt this gave a positive response. The reflections around authority varied among social workers. Some experienced a sort of reassurance regarding their position of authority as a result of the laws governing their work while some do not reflect on the balance of power at all. What also emerged from the study was the importance of cultural familiarity, that is, to have the skills of understanding of different cultures. It can also be an advantage for client relationship if the social worker has a similar background to that of the family. The empirical data have been analyzed from the perspective of authority and previous research that has dealt with the study topic. Unlike existing research studies this study deals with the experiences of social secretaries and has a Swedish context.

Bengtsson, Emelie, Tunér, Sofia January 2018 (has links)
The auditor's focus has shifted from focusing on the audit to create added value for the client. The shifted focus has led the auditor to work in a competitive market and has an interest in being financially successful. The purpose of the study is to explain how the added value of the auditor affects the client's perceived relationship with the auditor. The study may contribute to a better understanding of how the added value affects the relationship, which has been divided into professional relationships, personal acquaintances and friendships. In accordance with previous research on added value and relevant relationship theories the model of the study has been developed. The model is then tested empirically through the use of a survey. The results of the study show that added value has a positive impact on the three types of relations. As the result shows that the added value affects the extent to which the accountant and the client perceive their relationship as friendship, the auditor's independence is an important aspect to take into account. The study can provide information about the added value a client can expect from his accountant. Since the purpose of this study has not been tested earlier, the study contributes to both audit and relational literature, and as our results can not be generalized it is therefore of relevance to study in future research.

It is a qualitative study oriented by the Grounded Theory as a methodological framework and by Symbolic Interactionism as its theoretical framework. Theoretical saturation was configured with the analysis of 29 interviews distributed in the sample groups, as follows: nine members of the medical team (five contracted physicians and four resident physicians), 10 members of the nursing team (five nurses and five nursing technicians and nursing auxiliaries) and 10 parents. The data were collected by means of non-directive interviews which were audio-taped and fully transcribed. From the analysis of such experiences, three core categories emerged, namely: aiming at relieving the physical and emotional overload generated by the parent informer role at the neonatal ICU; finding oneself between the physician-parent crossfire: the nursing staff taking the pacifying role as informers at the neonatal ICU; between solidarity and hostility towards the professional teams: the need for safety with RN care as an intervenient component. From the interface of these three theoretical models, the fourth model was unveiled, which was entitled: between the safety and risk dimensions in the physician-nurse-parent interaction in the neonatal ICU - the parents’ comprehension of the clinical-care scenario as an intervenient component. According to the theoretical framework, the definition of a situation given by players is key to how human action will occur. Life coaching for female high school learners : a case study in Gauteng provincePreston, Candice 09 1900 (has links)
This research aimed to investigate how life coaching influenced five female high school learners (aged 16 and 17 years old) at an independent school in Gauteng province. The learners attended four life-coaching sessions with an experienced and accredited life coach over a period of eight weeks. Data was collected from a literature review of previous research on life coaching and coaching in general, interviews with the learners both before and after the life coaching experience and from journal entries kept by the learners during the process. All learners learnt through the process and experienced positive changes in their lives. This included improved balance in their lives; improved time management, reduced stress and more positive mind-sets. They were able to set goals and achieve some success during the process. They expressed increased confidence in themselves and their abilities to overcome challenges in their lives and recommended life coaching for other learners. / Educational Management and Leadership / M.
