Veřejnoprávní aspekty poskytování spotřebitelských úvěrů / Public law aspects of providing credits for consumers

Kodet, Aleš January 2018 (has links)
This paper deals with legal regulation of providing and mediation of credits for consumers with respect to public law. The most important goal of this regulation is to protect consumers. This thesis analyses an act, which came into effect about 1 year ago transposing a directive regulating credit agreements for consumers relating to residential immovable property and a directive regulating other credit agreements for consumers, evaluates its suitability, considers its imperfection and proposes appropriate changes. The paper is divided into 4 chapters according to the structure of the Act No. 257/2016 Coll. on consumer`s credit. The first chapter analyses what exactly shall be considered as the consumer`s credit and defines four essential features of a credit for consumers as it is construed in this Act. The second chapter deals with requirements for obtaining permission for those entities who apply for permission for providing or mediation consumer`s credits, describes possible structures of representation of these entities and potential offence liability, which can be imputed to the represented entity. This chapter also analyses functions of the register, conditions of qualification and deals with definition of credibility and its relation to other laws regulating business of other entities on the...

Design and Development of Recommender Dialogue Systems

Johansson, Pontus January 2004 (has links)

The work in this thesis addresses design and development of multimodal dialogue recommender systems for the home context-of-use. In the design part, two investigations on multimodal recommendation dialogue interaction in the home context are reported on. The first study gives implications for the design of dialogue system interaction including personalization and a three-entity multimodal interaction model accommodating dialogue feedback in order to make the interaction more efficient and successful. In the second study a dialogue corpus of movie recommendation dialogues is collected and analyzed, providing a characterization of such dialogues. We identify three initiative types that need to be addressed in a recommender dialogue system implementation: system-driven preference requests, userdriven information requests, and preference volunteering. Through the process of dialogue distilling, a dialogue control strategy covering system-driven preference requests from the corpus is arrived at.

In the development part, an application-driven development process is adopted where reusable generic components evolve through the iterative and incremental refinement of dialogue systems. The Phase Graph Processor (PGP) design pattern is one such evolved component suggesting a phase-based control of dialogue systems. PGP is a generic and flexible micro architecture accommodating frequent change of requirements inherent of agile, evolutionary system development. As PGP has been used in a series of previous information-providing dialogue system projects, a standard phase graph has been established that covers the second initiative type; user-driven information requests. The phase graph is incrementally refined in order to provide user preference modeling, thus addressing the third initiative type, and multimodality as indicated by the user studies. In the iterative development of the multimodal recommender dialogue system MADFILM the phase graph is coupled with the dialogue control strategy in order to cater for the seamless integration of the three initiative types.
/ Report code: LiU-TEK-LIC-2004:08.

The Role of Traditional Healers in Oral Health Care in the Bui Division, North West Province, Cameroon.

Agbor, Michael A. January 2009 (has links)

The majority of Cameroonians depend on traditional medicines for their health care needs and about seven per cent of the average household health budget is spent on traditional medicines irrespective of their incomes. The aim of this study was (i) to assess the role of traditional healers (THs) in providing oral care services in Cameroon / (ii) to determine their cost of treatment and to investigate reasons why people visit THs. The present study was cross sectional and consisted of a sample of 21 THs and 52 clients with a history of dental problems. It utilized semi structured questionnaires and photographs to collect data. The mean age of THs was 46.0 years (range 20-77 years). Thirty per cent of THs were above 40 years and the majority males. Nearly a quarter of the THs practiced as herbalists and the remainder practiced both divination and herbalism. More than two thirds of Cameroonians, who patronize THs for their oral health needs, fall within the 20-40 year age group. THs in this region are experienced and enjoy good relationships with hospitals and other THs. However, collaboration between the oral health work force and THs is very poor as only 6% of all patients seen by THs are referred to the dentist. Socio-cultural and economic factors affect the oral health care seeking behavior of patients in this area and only 6.5% of patients visit dental clinics. Reasons for not attending dental clinics included cost, poor accessibility, superstition and fear.
