Kontrola a řízení hudební tvorby v období normalizace na příkladu rockové hudby a její medializace. / Controlling and managing a music production in the period of normalization on the example of rock music and its media portrayalHusák, Martin January 2017 (has links)
The thesis "Controlling and managing a music production in the period of normalization on the example of rock music and its media portrayal" describes and analyses the system of controlling and managing Czechoslovak music production in the period of normalization with a particular attention to the mechanisms that deployed socialist ideological and aesthetical standards in the area of rock music. Additionally, this included a prescriptive media coverage highlighting socialist values using coordinated and centralised management through state institutions. The goal of the thesis is then to reveal a modus operandi of communist cultural policy on the examples of media approach to the trials with leading underground music protagonists in 1976 as rock music was a vehicle for expression their dissent attitude toward the system in an artistic way.

The working hour: A rhetorical analysis of the lyrics of Tears for FearsGross-Mejía, Jennifer Anne 01 January 2003 (has links)
Childhood friends Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal founded the band Tears for Fears, and were the two primary members from 1982-1990. Their songs describe the struggle of coping with childhood abuse. This thesis analyzes the rhetorical aspects of their lyrics, emphasizing how the words of their songs express the fundamental human response to abuse, and the painful process of recovery. It explores how the songwriters use the psychological theories of Arthur Janov and Carl Jung to scaffold their experience of working through emotional trauma; and how they combine those theories with astrological symbolism to explore the idea of destiny. This thesis uses a combined rhetorical and psychological approach to analyze the manner in which the ethos and pathos inherent in the lyrics generated recognition, understanding, and sympathy in the listener.

The Semantics of the Recorded Drum Kit and its ProcessingEvans, Alexander January 2023 (has links)
This study investigated the terms used by drummers and audio engineers to describe the recorded drum kit and the processing applied to it. The main method consisted of semi-structured interviews with six professionals in the fields of drumming and audio engineering. The participants were asked to describe five musical samples of different drum kit mixes containing kick, snare and hi-hat sounds. Their descriptions along with explanations of their communication tactics were compared, resulting in explanations of fourteen semantic descriptors. The comparison of their use of the terms in the context of the samples revealed some differences depending on their professional backgrounds. The results suggested that, while audio engineers have a larger semantic lexicon in regards to the recorded drum kit, the differences in the definitions of terms had a larger degree of variation between individuals than between the respective professions.

Активные процессы в лексике современной рок-поэзии (на материале текстов уральских рок-групп) : магистерская диссертация / Active processes in the vocabulary of modern rock poetry (based on the texts of the Ural rock groups)Светлакова, Е. Ю., Svetlakova, E. Yu. January 2021 (has links)
This final master's thesis explores the active processes in the vocabulary of the modern Russian language. This is an area of linguistic knowledge that has theoretical and practical significance. All changes that occur in the society are reflected precisely in the vocabulary. The relevance of the study is in the need to study active processes in the vocabulary of the modern Russian language for their description and systematization and to preserve the norms of the literary language. As an object of observation, we have chosen modern Russian rock poetry, which appeared on the territory of the Sverdlovsk region in the period from 1991 to 2021. The texts, in sufficient quantity for analysis, were written by different poets and, in our opinion, have a certain artistic and historical significance. The scientific novelty of this research is in the fact that new, previously unexplored material (poetic texts of the Ural rock groups «Sansara» and «Aifo») is introduced into scientific use. The theoretical significance of the work is in an attempt at a holistic analysis of active modern processes in the vocabulary that are relevant for the modern Russian language. The practical significance of this work is associated with the possibility of including materials in introductory courses for students in different specialties (journalism, editorial and publishing, translation studies, cultural studies, etc.). Also, the results of our research may interest those who are interested in the phenomenon of modern Ural rock poetry. The final master's thesis consists of an introduction, two chapters, a conclusion and three applications. The main part consists of two chapters, where the first chapter is the theoretical foundations of research, the second chapter is the practical research. The work’s volume is 253 pages.

Lobpreis- und Anbetungslieder: eine kritisch-wurdigende Analyse der aktuellen Hillsong-Lieder / Praise and worship songs: a critical analysis of popular Hillsong songsEhlebracht, Simon 10 1900 (has links)
The master thesis examines the 20 most played Hillsong songs from 2016 in Germany. Aspects examined are the main themes of the lyrics, the singer-/ addressee perspective, the classification into the biblical narrative as well as the functions of the songs within the worship service. Based on these aspects, the criticism directed at the songs is met. Criticized are, among other things, the theological lack of substance of the songs, the distorted image of God, missing topics like suffering, lamentation, social justice or the focus on the individual instead of God. The work proves that the criticism of lack of content is justified. In addition, the songs communicate a one-sided image of God that strongly focuses on Jesus as an addressee. It shows that the issues of suffering, lamentation and social justice are nderrepresented. On the grammatical level, the songs have a strong focus on the individual. Examining the functions, however, shows that most of the songs, despite a first-person perspective, are strongly community-building. This is mainly due to the koinonial function and the combinations of diaconal and pastoral function of some songs. In addition to these functions, the songs often take on the kerygmatic,
missionary and pedagogical function. / Practical Theology / M. Th. (Practical Theology)
