SUMMARY This Master's thesis deals with design to the completion of selected urban area specifically at the Hôrka Park in Veľký Krtíš. It is the study of an urban park creation made by various successive steps - from finding and processing a literature review on similar issues, through the analytical part of the territory, to the final design solution. The objective of the design is to create a quality public space, which becomes the green background of the city and to create the conditions for more efficient use according to current social demands. It is a city park for all that combines natural character with the modern. It will provide attractivity with flexibility including mobility and movement in space through the usage of terrain, vegetation cover and the sight structures. In summary, the study design solution converts Hôrka Park to the city park which fits into the structure of the city. It will also make the city more attractive and it will increase its quality and a recreational potential as well.

The main concern of this work is to propose analytical relations describing the stabi-lity of trees depending on the dendrometry. Further, the aim is to derive allometric co-efficients of breakage and windthrow failure based on dendrometric quantities and theory of mechanics. Selected individuals of the genus maple, birch, beech, ash, oak and linden are located in urban areas of Prostějov. The allometric relationships are based on the dendrometric measurements of these individuals (a diameter, center of gravity he-ight, crown area etc.) and on mechanics (wood strength; modulus of elasticity of wood, roots and soil; inclination etc). Tree age was calculated from the relationship between the dendrometric variables. The allometric coefficients for tree assessment in the phase of maturity conditioned by tree species and the stability of the tree can not be evaluated only according to the diameter and height of the center of gravity but also according to sail area of the crown. When assesing trees not only the geometry but also material pro-perties should be considered. Of allometric relationships for breakege, windthrow and buckling I find most useful the relationship for the breakage because it uses also the sail area and material properties.

This thesis, dealing with protected trees, is divided into two main parts. The theoretical part is focused on the protection of memorable trees in the Czech Republic, both in terms of economical, technical or legal. The paper describes the possibilities of care for these trees, options of nomination, subsidy opportunities and other services. The practical part is aimed at gathering information on the newly nominated memorable trees in the Mělník district for the past 10 years, photo documentation, mapping and description of the current status of selected memorable trees. There are also explored grant drawn to care for these particular trees - whether they were used or not, or a recommendation to owners of the trees. The result of thesis is a comprehensive and updated set of data dealing with selected memorable trees. In the future, it may serve as a base for exploring the use of subsidies in this area, or expand awareness of private owners of memorable trees on the possibilities of using subsidies.
