Diseño del software Sindemora para el monitoreo del rendimiento académico de estudiantes de una universidad privada del Perú, 2019Barrueto Chunga, Luis Enrique January 2023 (has links)
Se ha propuesto realizar el diseño del software denominado “SINDEMORA” que abrevia las palabras “Sistema de Información para el Monitoreo del Rendimiento Académico” para obtener información de los estudiantes pre graduados de una universidad particular peruana. No llega a la implementación del software, más si a un software prototipo que demuestra que es posible implementarlo utilizando herramientas de programación convencional.
Este estudio de investigación nace por el año 2016 donde la cultura de gestión colaborativa online era escasa, pero gracias a una coyuntura de ahondar en la mejora de acompañamiento al estudiante de pregrado, se permitió dar apoyo mediante el uso de las TIC al área de gestión de estudiantes. Este estudio cuantitativo exploratorio recolectó mucha información la cual combinó registros de Google Drive y los sistemas transaccionales de la universidad para detectar a tiempo problemas académicos de los
estudiantes y así asistirlos oportunamente.
Se buscó hacer notar que a través de los distintos diseños que provienen de los sistemas transaccionales combinados con información registrada en Google Drive usando TIC permitió el estudio profundo de datos y se mejoró la excelencia de la información.
El diseño para monitorear el rendimiento académico surgió del análisis de la información.
El resultado brindó nuevas formas de presentar la información antes no vista. aparecieron nuevas experiencias producto del cruce de información y reconocimiento de patrones.
Los distintos diseños basados en evidencias recolectadas de los repositorios de datos y de información en la nube usando Google Drive sirvieron para elaborar estrategias, se volvieron notorias y con el tiempo fueron aceptadas por la institución pasando a formar parte del tablero de control de mando.
Se observó que los diseños resultantes no son permanentes, siempre están en proceso de continua mejora ayudando a crear una cultura de supervisión en línea usando las TIC. Es decir, por un tiempo están de moda y los acompañan estrategias asociadas que buscan mejorar algunos aspectos de la gestión universitaria usando TIC para ayudar a lograr mejor rendimiento académico hasta que nuevas experiencias los redefinen, después de todo queda como aporte la cultura de uso de las TIC en cada trabajador que se incorpora.en el área. Aparecen nuevos diseños y tableros de control y el aprendizaje se hace continúo adaptándose a cada circunstancia en el tiempo como por ejemplo los diseños que han emergido durante la etapa del COVID-19 que ha cambiado paradigmas y ha afectado el comportamiento y rendimiento académico del estudiante de pregrado en este nuevo contexto.
Mediante el monitoreo sistemático del rendimiento académico quedó en evidencia el siguiente circuito: El cuestionamiento lleva a extraer y conseguir datos de los repositorios de datos de la universidad y de la información que se recoge de cuestionarios de internet, de encuestas limesurvey y de registros en Google Drive, todo ello permite crear diseños de reportes. Los datos combinados de distintas formas dan pase a la ciencia de datos y surge la analítica que impulsa al cuestionamiento y debates de autoridades y gestores, con las semejanzas de comportamiento, tendencias y distintas formas de visualizar la información se diseñan estrategias, estas se aplican y se miden los impactos, la buenas experiencias quedan y se aprende pero a su vez el repensar y las nuevas ideas crea nuevos cuestionamientos y nuevamente estamos en el circuito tratando de volver al paso inicial mejorar continuamente y ahondar en una cultura TIC para mejorar el desempeño académico de los estudiantes y elevar el compromiso de ellos para concluir sus estudios universitarios. / It has been proposed to carry out the design of the software called "SINDEMORA" which abbreviates the words "Information System for the Monitoring of Academic Performance" to obtain information from undergraduate students from a private university in Peru. It does not reach the implementation of the software, but rather a prototype software that demonstrates that it is possible to implement it using conventional programming tools. This research study was born in 2016 where the online collaborative
management culture was scarce, but thanks to a situation of delving into the improvement of accompaniment to undergraduate students, I was appointed to support the ICT support part of the area of management of students. This exploratory quantitative study collected a lot of information which was combined with Google Drive records to detect student problems early and assist them in a timely manner. It was sought to note that through the different designs that come from transactional systems combined with information registered in Google Drive using ICTs, it allowed data analysis and improved the quality of information. The design to monitor academic performance arose from the analysis of
the information. The result provided new ways to present previously unseen information.
New experiences appeared as a result of the crossing of information and pattern recognition. The different designs based on evidence collected from databases and information in the cloud using Google Drive served to develop strategies, became noticeable and over time were accepted by the institution becoming part of the control panel. It was observed that the resulting designs are not permanent, they are always in the process of continuous improvement, helping to create a culture of online supervision
using ICTs. That is to say, for a while they are in fashion and they are accompanied by associated strategies that seek to improve some aspects of university management using ICTs to help achieve better academic performance until new experiences redefine them, after all the culture of ICT use remains in each worker who joins the area. New designs and control boards appear, and learning becomes continuous, adapting to each circumstance over time, such as the designs that have occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has changed paradigms and has affected student behavior and academic

[pt] Este trabalho propõe um modelo de gestão universitária sob a ótica da sustentabilidade de Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES), baseado em quatro pilares: Excelência em Ensino e Pesquisa, Gestão Financeira, Responsabilidade Social e Responsabilidade Ambiental, apoiados por Tecnologia da Informação. Inicialmente o modelo proposto foi validado e aplicado ao caso da PUC-Rio, com o foco na Gestão Universitária. Posteriormente um questionário foi aplicado em onze IES da América Latina e Europa para avaliar o grau de desenvolvimento destas instituições face aos quatro pilares do modelo de sustentabilidade proposto. A partir deste questionário foi possível identificaras melhores práticas de sustentabilidade em IES e confrontá-las com os resultados da PUC-Rio. / [en] This work proposes a model of university management from the perspective of sustainability, based on four pillars: Excellence in Education and Research, Financial Management, Social Responsibility and Environmental Responsibility, supported by information technology. Initially the model was validated and applied to the case study of PUC-Rio, with focus on University Management. Subsequently, a questionnaire was administered in eleven Latin American and European Universities to assess the degree of development of these institutions, based on the four pillars of sustainability proposed by the model. With the results of this survey, it was possible to identify some of the best practices of sustainability in those Universities and confront them with the results of PUC-Rio.

Modeling Manifest and Latent Structures in a University: Understanding Resources and Dissent DynamicsZaini, Raafat Mahmoud 23 January 2017 (has links)
Using modeling and computer simulation, this research focuses on studying two different views to organizational design and their implications for performance in the context of academic institutions. One view represents the manifest structure that includes resources (students, faculty, administration, facilities, finances, partners, donors, etc.); the other view represents the latent structure that focuses on dissent. The dissertation addresses the following two questions; 1. What are the tangible dynamic interdependencies constituting the manifest structure within academic institutions and their impact on performance? 2. What is the impact of the latent structures composed of intangible organizational processes, especially dissent, on performance? The dissertation proposes generic system dynamics simulation models untangling the complexity of the topic by tackling various slices of the problem in separate papers. The models are based on three different theoretical frameworks addressing resources and their composition, dissent, and stakeholder engagement. It is observed that while both the manifest and the latent parts of the university organization impact its performance, the latent part, being invisible, is often ignored. In the long run, the influence of the latent part of the organization can slowly but seriously compromise intangible performances components like quality, reputation, and attractiveness. When the manifest part of the organization is dysfunctional, its tangible performance rapidly suffers. The damage control policies will often impact the latent organizational performance leading the institution into a vicious cycle. The presence of time delays in this framework may create an oscillatory behavior that might modulate a growth or decline trend. Performance measures addressing intangible performance components must be factored into the organizational design since faculty, students, and other stakeholders are not only driven by financial rewards, but also by the organizational environment. The research, besides addressing the important question of the role of latent elements in organization design and demonstrating this can be done using system dynamics modeling and computer simulation, should also be of value to the design and management of higher education institutions.

Previous issue date: 2007-11-23 / In this research we intend to investigate the university management model in the private superior educational institution -SEI, the role of the IDP- Institutional Development Project and the IPP-Institutional Pedagogical Project, (NSSEE) National System of the Superior Education Evaluation's dimensions and indicators as management model's indicators. The research question is: dDo the IDP, IPP and NSSEE's dimensions and indicators refer to a new university management model in a SEI? The chosen methodological path was the bibliographic research with the application of semi-structured interviews to eight private SEI's Deans. The quality of Superior Education should be the result of a management work constructed and shared by its actors that interfere in educational scenario: skilled professionals, professors with technical and pedagogical competences that are loyal to the Institution. One remarkable indicator in the research reveals that positive results not always are achieved due to a lack of follow-up and evaluation activities. For this reason, we believe that a management model able to achieve objectives of professional education with quality and actuality turned out to be relevant in this moment / Nesta pesquisa pretendemos investigar os modelos de gestão universitária nas IES
privadas, o papel do Projeto de Desenvolvimento Institucional (PDI) e Projeto
Pedagógico Institucional (PPI), das Dimensões e dos Indicadores do Sistema
Nacional de Avaliação da Educação Superior (SINAES), como indicadores de um
modelo de gestão. A problemática da pesquisa é o questionamento relativo a se o
PDI, o PPI, as dimensões e os Indicadores do SINAES indicam um novo modelo de
gestão universitária de uma IES. O caminho metodológico escolhido foi pela
realização de pesquisas bibliográficas com aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas
junto a oito reitores de IES privadas. A qualidade da educação superior
deve ser o resultado de um trabalho de gestão construída e partilhada por seus
atores que interferem no cenário educacional: profissionais capacitados, docentes
dotados de competência técnica e pedagógica, comprometidos com a Instituição.
Um indicador relevante na pesquisa revela que resultados positivos nem sempre são
alcançados, por ausência de acompanhamento e de avaliação de suas atividades.
Por isso, acreditamos que a reflexão sobre um modelo de gestão capaz de alcançar
objetivos de educação profissional com qualidade e atualidade se faz relevante
neste momento

Information is a organizational resource needed to identify problems as well as to solve them, and it also must be dealt with specific and measurable characteristics such as gathering, use and life circle methods, presenting different attributes in each phase. It can also be transformed into products that make easier for organizations to reach their goals. Thus, the combination of Information Technology with Communication and Information Science has great influence on the production, management and use of information within organizational processes. The main objective of this research was to identify the ways in which the university managers use the information in the decision making process and in order to achieve it a case study was carried at the PUC-Campinas with information collected from Directors of the University Academic Centres and other documental sources. The results obtained could be used to assist the university managers to analyze information when taking decisions as well to offer management alternatives by means of TI tools which can be found inside the organization itself. Among these results, it may be pointed out that although not effectively use by most of the subjects, the IC tools and scenarios analysis can be normally used by university managers if they get themselves familiar with these techniques specially on continuous monitoring in a way that can be reduced the possibility of being surprised by internal and external changes. / Sabe-se que o uso efetivo da informa??o est? intimamente ligado ? qualidade que se pode fazer para a sua articula??o, recupera??o e dissemina??o. This work was presented under the Program of Post Graduate in Production Engineering, research line "Quantitative Methods", dealing with the configuration and deployment of an Educational Unit outside the main campus of Federal University of Santa Maria, UFSM from 2006 to 2010. The research required a qualitative research, case study with descriptive and interpretive bias, organized from four different sources: bibliographic study; text documents, image and sound; interviews; allowing the argumentative construction and reliable mapping of the studied reality. The aim of this study is to analyze the CESNORS deployment experience in search of regional innovation indicators that stand in CESNORS creation process as an educational unit outside the main campus of UFSM and planned and implemented in the period of expansion of Brazilian higher education (after 2006). Developed conceptual axes were: a) higher education in Brazil; b) expansion of public federal universities as state policy; c) University Management Models for Innovation and d) Regional Socio-Economic Indicators. With these conceptual axes, the study proposes The analysis of state policy formation which led to the expansion of higher education in Brazil occurred from the first decade of this century, showing the relationship between a need to increase the supply of places in institutions Higher Education and government actions that gave the necessary response to the question. Deriving from this Policy, Higher Education Expansion took place already from 2003, and the case studied started with an agreement signed between UFSM and the Ministry of Education and Culture in late 2005. This work deals with the creation Centre for Higher Education in the North of Rio Grande do Sul (CESNORS) during the period of 2006 to 2010, in order to follow up the effectiveness of planning. The CESNORS was created in two cities 280 km far from the main campus, that are, Frederico Westphalen and Palmeira das Missões. The approach results in an analysis of socio-economic data of cities evolved, in order to create categories for further development, since the time window proposed for this work is short, focus on the initial period of the unit where the CESNORS did not yet developed its potential social impact. The contribution proposed here is an exploration of possible socio-economic improvements in the region covered by the project. / A presente dissertação de Mestrado, vinculada ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia de Produção, linha de pesquisa Métodos Quantitativos , tem como temática a configuração e implantação de uma Unidade Educacional Universitária fora de sede, na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, UFSM, no período antecedente à expansão e interiorização das Universidades Públicas Federais Brasileiras. A investigação requereu uma pesquisa qualitativa, do tipo estudo de caso, com viés descritivo-interpretativo, organizado a partir de quatro fontes distintas: estudo bibliográfico; documentos em texto, imagem e som; depoimentos individuais; permitindo a construção argumentativa e o mapeamento fidedigno da realidade estudada. O objetivo geral deste estudo busca analisar a experiência de implantação do CESNORS em busca de indicadores de inovação regional que se destaquem no processo de criação do CESNORS como unidade educacional fora de sede planejada e implantada no período de expansão e interiorização da educação superior brasileira. Os eixos conceituais desenvolvidos foram: a) a Educação Superior no Brasil; b) expansão e interiorização das Universidades Públicas Federais como Política de Estado; c) Modelos de Gestão Universitária para Inovação e d) Indicadores Socioeconômicos Regionais. Com estes eixos conceituais, o estudo propõe a análise da formação da Política de Estado que deu origem à expansão do Ensino Superior no Brasil ocorrida a partir da primeira década do século presente, demonstrando a relação existente entre uma necessidade de aumento da oferta de vagas nas Instituições de Ensino Superior e as ações governamentais que deram a resposta necessária à questão. Decorrente desta Política, a Expansão do Ensino Superior deu-se já a partir de 2003, sendo que o caso ora estudado foi conveniado com o Ministério de Educação e Cultura em fins de 2005. Assim, o estudo propõe uma explanação do formato de implantação utilizado pela Universidade Federal de Santa Maria para o caso do Centro de Educação Superior Norte do Rio Grande do Sul (CESNORS) e sua aplicabilidade durante o período correspondente ao Projeto de Implantação - 2006 a 2010 - de forma a fazer o acompanhamento da eficácia do planejamento. Demonstra-se o cenário interno da UFSM à época, ambiente no qual foi formatado e implantado o CESNORS, atendendo os Municípios de Frederico Westphalen e Palmeira das Missões, ambos localizados num raio de 280 km da Sede. A abordagem, como efetuada, resulta em uma análise de alguns dados socioeconômicos dos Municípios em questão, de forma a buscar categorias de análise para futuro aprofundamento, uma vez que o recorte temporal proposto para esta dissertação, sendo curto e referente à implantação, momento em que o Centro ainda não dispunha da totalidade de seu potencial de impacto social, não permite conclusões definitivas. A contribuição aqui proposta trata de uma prospecção de possíveis melhoras socioeconômicas na região de abrangência do projeto, que permita seu acompanhamento posterior de maneira a criar os fios condutores de teses destinadas a sedimentar e justificar cientificamente os resultados assim obtidos.

Previous issue date: 2018-08-24 / The theme to which this research refers is in the field of public higher education, and, more
closely, a study of the State University of Goiás (UEG). The research focuses on individual,
political and institutional actors who, in relations, participate in the constitution of the UEG. It
seeks to understand the conjunctural elements, political, economic and educational contexts that,
imbricated, contribute to the constitution of the institutional academic habitus and the management
of the UEG. An analysis of the management of the University is conducted, considering the
Collegiate Superior Organs and the Central Administration. From the literature review and empiria,
categories were defined and considered: social space; capital; habitus; field; State; institution;
symbolic violence; institutionalization; contradiction. The research is characterized as a case study,
with a multidisciplinary typology, with a bibliographical and empirical study, focusing a more
complete and comprehensive approach to the object of study. The demarcated time period is from
the second half of the 1990s to the year 2017. For the analysis and understanding of the object, the
study is based on the contributions of Pierre Bourdieu, Max Weber, Brigitte Berger, Thomas
Luckmann, Peter L. Berger, Carlos RM Jamil Cury, besides authors of the field of higher
education. Among the results obtained are: the constitution of a managerial institutional habitus of
the Brazilian State that shaped the different institutions under the principles of neoliberalism; it
was observed that the political strategies that constitute the habitus of management of the State of
Goiás Government are in consonance with the articulation manner of political parties and it was
possible to verify the tensioning between the instituting and the instituted in the academic and
management project of the UEG. It was observed that the linkage of the UEG to the regional
development and interiorizing is structured under biased political strategies, in the course of its
institutionalization; it was understood that the management develops various bureaucratic rites,
with the production of excessive regulation; the study also revealed a University in the process of
institutionalization, which presents institucional weaknesses in basic matters of its physical and
academic structure and that these factors produce a modus operandi of their own; it was found that
the Central Management and Collegiate Organs are in line with a way of managing which is
adherent to the political field and the partisan support base of the Government of the State of
Goiás; it was observed that the UEG struggles and develops strategies to flatten and relativize the
Government discourse in its interior; it was understood that the principle of university autonomy is,
in part, consistent with the principles of State policy; it was verified that the institutional practices
of the University are in consonance with the objective structures, verifiable in the institution in the
course of its history and in the course of its institutionalization, because the tendency of the habitus
is to reproduce regularities inscribed in the objective and structural conditions that preside to its
generative principle; it was verified as one of the durable elements of the institutional academic
habitus and University management the element of political strategies and another, te one of
improvisation; it was possible to verify the managerial ways that permeate the principles of the
institution and management; resistances were verified, contradictory movements within the
University that corroborate the understanding of the "space of freedom" of agents; it was found
that, as an internalized structure, the management mode of current Government of the State of
Goiás is incorporated into the way of managing of the University, externalized as practices,

aos agentes individuais, políticos e institucionais que, em relações, participam da constituição
da UEG. Busca-se compreender os elementos conjunturais, contextos políticos, econômicos e
educacionais que, imbricados, contribuem para a constituição do habitus institucional
acadêmico e da gestão da UEG. Faz-se uma análise da gestão da Universidade, considerando
os Órgãos Superiores Colegiados e da Administração Central. Defniu-se, a partir da revisão de
literatura e da empiria, e trabalhou-se com as categorias: espaço social; capital; habitus;
campo; Estado; instituição; violência simbólica; institucionalização; contradição. A pesquisa
caracteriza-se como um estudo de caso, com tipologia multidisciplinar, com estudo
bibliográfco e empírico, tendo em vista uma abordagem mais totalizadora e compreensiva do
objeto de estudo. O período temporal demarcado é da segunda metade da década de 1990 ao
ano de 2017. Para análise e compreensão do objeto, o estudo baseia-se nas contribuições de
Pierre Bourdieu, Max Weber, Brigitte Berger, Thomas Luckmann, Peter L. Berger, Carlos R. M.
Jamil Cury, além de e autores do campo da educação superior. Dentre os resultados obtidos
destacam-se: a constituição de um habitus institucional gerencial do Estado brasileiro que
modelou as diferentes instituições sob os princípios do neoliberalismo; observou-se que as
estratégias políticas que constituem o habitus de gestão do governo do Estado de Goiás estão
em consonância com o modo de articulação da política partidária e constatou-se o
tensionamento entre o instituinte e o instituído no projeto acadêmico e de gestão da UEG.
Observou-se que a vinculação da UEG ao desenvolvimento regional e interiorização estruturase
sob estratégias políticas interessadas, no decorrer de sua institucionalização;
compreendeu-se que a gestão desenvolve variados ritos burocráticos, com a produção de
excessiva regulamentação; o estudo também revelou uma Universidade em processo de
institucionalização, que apresenta fragilidades institucionais em questões básicas de sua
estrutura física e acadêmica e que esses fatores produzem um modus operandi próprio;
verifcou-se que a Administração Central e Órgãos Colegiados estão em consonância com um
modo de fazer gestão aderente ao campo político e da base de sustentação partidária do
governo do estado de Goiás; observou-se que a UEG luta e desenvolve estratégias para
aplainar e relativizar o discurso do governo no seu interior; compreendeu-se que o princípio da
autonomia universitária é, em parte, condizente com os princípios da política estadual; foi
verifcado que as práticas institucionais da Universidade estão em consonância com as
estruturas objetivas, verifcáveis na instituição no decorrer de sua história e no decurso de sua
institucionalização, pois a tendência do habitus é o de a reproduzir as regularidades inscritas
nas condições objetivas e estruturais que presidem a seu princípio gerador; verifcou-se como
um dos elementos duráveis do habitus institucional acadêmico e da gestão universitária o
elemento das estratégias políticas e outro, o da improvisação; verifcou-se o modelo gerencial
que permeia os princípios da UEG e da gestão; constataram-se resistências, movimentos
contraditórios no interior da Universidade que corroboram para o entendimento do “espaço de
liberdade” dos agentes; verifcou-se que, como estrutura interiorizada, o modo da atual gestão
do governo do Estado de Goiás está incorporado ao modo de fazer gestão da Universidade,
exteriorizado como práticas, discursos e relações entre os grupos e comunidade universitária.

Modeling Manifest and Latent Structures in a University: Understanding Resources and Dissent DynamicsZaini, Raafat Mahmoud 23 January 2017 (has links)
Using modeling and computer simulation, this research focuses on studying two different views to organizational design and their implications for performance in the context of academic institutions. One view represents the manifest structure that includes resources (students, faculty, administration, facilities, finances, partners, donors, etc.); the other view represents the latent structure that focuses on dissent. The dissertation addresses the following two questions; 1. What are the tangible dynamic interdependencies constituting the manifest structure within academic institutions and their impact on performance? 2. What is the impact of the latent structures composed of intangible organizational processes, especially dissent, on performance? The dissertation proposes generic system dynamics simulation models untangling the complexity of the topic by tackling various slices of the problem in separate papers. The models are based on three different theoretical frameworks addressing resources and their composition, dissent, and stakeholder engagement. It is observed that while both the manifest and the latent parts of the university organization impact its performance, the latent part, being invisible, is often ignored. In the long run, the influence of the latent part of the organization can slowly but seriously compromise intangible performances components like quality, reputation, and attractiveness. When the manifest part of the organization is dysfunctional, its tangible performance rapidly suffers. The damage control policies will often impact the latent organizational performance leading the institution into a vicious cycle. The presence of time delays in this framework may create an oscillatory behavior that might modulate a growth or decline trend. Performance measures addressing intangible performance components must be factored into the organizational design since faculty, students, and other stakeholders are not only driven by financial rewards, but also by the organizational environment. The research, besides addressing the important question of the role of latent elements in organization design and demonstrating this can be done using system dynamics modeling and computer simulation, should also be of value to the design and management of higher education institutions.
