Estação ferroviária como terminal intermodal: uma aproximação a partir de três escalas de intervenção / Railway station as intermodal terminal: an approach as of three intervention scales.

Neres, Rodrigo Morganti 23 May 2018 (has links)
Given the fragmented nature of urban space in contemporary cities, mobility infrastructures and communication networks act as articulation elements. In this context, the transportation of people has a fundamental role in the structuring of the urbanized territory, which is not only characterized by proximity ties. The railway stations are among the articulators elements of flow networks and are a key part of this equation. This work addresses the insertion of large railway stations located in central areas in the intense flows of regional and metropolitan scale and, at the same time, their consolidation as protagonists in the urban dynamics, acting as generators of urbanity and vitality in the cities. Relating the central role of these equipments, their insertion in the territory, their function in the transportation network and the relation with the public spaces of their surroundings, the research starts from a theoretical reflection that faces contemporary issues to analyze the stations through studies of case. It seeks, therefore, to appraise the current requirements that involve the large intermodal passenger terminals that have rail transport as the main element.

O trabalho em movimento: uma análise das relações de trabalho nas empresas de ônibus do ABC paulista / Working in traffic: an analysis of the labor relations in the ABC bus companies

Ricardo, Thiago Sereno 14 February 2019 (has links)
This dissertation is based on the labor sociology diagnosis that the labor has deeply changed after the eighties due to the spread of the flexibilization and intensification of labor, that resulted in a condition of precariety that is widespread over the labors world. Departing from the analysis of labor in bus companies and from the opinion of bus users, we tried to demonstrate that labors precariety affects not only the workers life, but has clear impacts on the life of millions of users that are dependant of the service on their routine. To analyze labors condition and users satisfaction, we have made several in depth interviews with workers from the bus companies of the region and also with people that regularly uses the bus services in the region. Both these interviews were complemented by etnographical research that has been performed over several bus lines.

Key Factors of Public Attitude towards Sustainable Transport Policies : A Case Study in Four Cities in Sweden

Liu, Qiyang, Han, Yini, Liddawi, Shafiq January 2015 (has links)
Urban transport systems are facing seemingly irreconcilable problems.Sustainable transport policies are necessary to address this sustainability challenge. However, their effectiveness highly depends on the public attitude towards them. A method combiningboth qualitative and quantitative research was used to redefine a sustainable transport policybased on sustainability principles, and find out the key factors of public attitude towardssustainable transport policies. Furthermore, the interrelations between these factors arerevealed by using structural equation modelling. 1685 questionnaires were sent to fourrepresentative cities in Sweden: Stockholm, Göteborg, Uppsala and Karlskrona. By using thisfirst hand data, we discovered some differences between Karlskrona and these other threecities. The negative attitudes towards reducing car use and promoting public transport inKarlskrona is opposite to the positive attitudes in other cities. The acceptance of taxes, speedlimitation and parking regulation is notably different as well. The results also indicate that citycharacteristics influence public attitudes towards sustainable transport policies more thancitizens’ characteristics. The functionality of a city is the most significant factor. Moreover, the results show a high dependence on individual car use. This suggests that planners shouldnot use the experience gained from other cities without investigating actual local conditions.

Efektyvus miesto transporto projektų finansų valdymas / Effective finance management of urban transport projects

Gressler, Frank 02 June 2008 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Finance management during implementation of urban transport projects is rather complicated because of insufficient financing and it needs coordination because of number of financial sources. The aim of the study – develop methods, algorithms and computer programs, which enable project mangers to solve finance management issues during all project phases. The main tasks to achieve the goals are: 1. To analyze financial issues and difficulties during implemented urban transport infrastructure’s projects, and to evaluate factors having influence on finance management during all project phases. 2. To evaluate influence of possible changes in project’s structure or part of the project on general project’s expenses. 3. To estimate, where it is possible to allocate various financial sources to separate project segments. 4. To develop algorithms and computer programs, which enable project mangers to evaluate economical, technical project works and its price. 5. Under insufficient financing or strict restrictions, the additional financing sources should be provided or extend of works should be decreased, part of these works relocated to further-coming projects.

Automobile Travel Reduction In Urban Areas And City Centers, Case Study: Ankara

Akar, Gulsah 01 June 2004 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis analyzes the car ownership and use issues worldwide and in Ankara. There has been an extremely rapid increase in car traffic in major cities, leading to car dependence and its adverse affects, all over the world. This thesis takes its starting point the driving forces behind car ownership and use, and the increasing problems caused by the car traffic in urban centers. Then, car travel reduction measures and their consequences are reviewed by examples. The urban transportation in Ankara is analyzed, both in terms of recent policies and the data obtained, in order to find out if the car ownership and use would generate similar problems in Ankara. The applicability of car travel reduction options in Ankara and the conflicts in the recent urban transportation policies are discussed. This research does not recommend simple solutions, but concludes that a broad spectrum of measures must be applied in order to reduce the problems.

Transporte e circulação na reprodução espacial urbana: considerações sobre o metrô do Rio de Janeiro / Transport and circulation in the reproduction urban spatial: considerations on the subway of Rio de Janeiro

André Luiz Bezerra da Silva 26 September 2008 (has links)
This study aims to analyse the role performed by transports in the process of reproduction of the urban space, searching the comprehension of the relation between the enviroment built in the city and its scheme of circulation, resulting in a space of circulation in which the effectiveness is possible through a system of transport for this purpose developed. The urban transport is understood here as a product and a condition of the urban man himself, employed to make possible the achievement of objetcives and concerns from the urban man. The city, structured as system, has in others aims to allow a group of relations and offer a certain life quality, through the creation of routes to work, education, habitation, entertainment, services, and so on, causing movements and social-spacial interactions. The urban circulation is understood in this pool as an expression of a more complex and bigger process, aiming to intermediate the relation between the activities developed in the urban space, including the production and reprodution structures. Accessibility and mobility are considered factors which will optimize the work of a urban transport network, making possible the localization of the urban activities. The relation between transport and ground usage is implict in the setting of the urban network, through factors like integration and conectivity, influencing some movements and the localization of some activities (the ground usage). The complexity of the urban activities after the Industrial Revolution changed the relation between city and transport, demanding a detailed plan to this relation. The interaction between transport systems and urban projects increased radically, because the conditions of accessibility to the execution of many urban activities and the mobility of the workforce, required for such activities, are attached to the capability of urban transport. The development of the urban network of Rio de Janeiro was not limited to the consequences of the progressive implantation of transports. Its metropolitan space, socially designed, was a result of a historic procces which started by mid of 19th century, with the capitalist production mode demanding an organization of the urban space attached to its needs of (re)production. Trains, bonds and buses came only to make real an urban space which its platform was already set even before its begining, expecting only the proper mean of transportation for that (planing). The subway in Rio de Janeiro, instead of bonds and trains, did not play a prime role, it occured in a stage which was already set, being more a consequece than a cause of this space, reinforcing this way, its arranging. The decision to implant the subway in Rio de Janeiro was possible under conditions much more complex than those which can be controlled by interventions in the transport system. The Line 2 of the subway was implanted on the old rail of Estrada de Ferro Rio DOuro, passed over by bus station Doxiadis (Green Line), because it offered better rates of accessibility and urban mobility. The Integrated Plan of Metropolitan Transports (IPMT-SUBWAY) pointed at the subway as the best transport to support the new rates of urbanization and economy in existence in Rio de Janeiro in 1960 and 1970. The new rates of accessbility and mobility given by the subway in mid 1980, brought changes in the geography along the Line 2, more specifically between Del Castilho X Pavuna, optimizing the mobility of the workforce and allowing the growth of new comercial and residential bussiness in a very punctual and selective manner, and the appearing of many slums in some areas or growing others as well. The subway came to reproduce the historic role developed by trains and bonds in Rio de Janeiro, perpetuating the model in which transports exist to allow a social-spacial segregation in the city and make available new areas for investments, reproducing this way the logic of the capitalist urban space.

Heuristics for grouping orders into shipments considering product compatibility and freight by maximum direct distance.

Renan Sallai Iwayama 29 June 2018 (has links)
This dissertation addresses the planning of the last mile supply in urban centers and proposes methods to group customer orders into shipments. In this study, freight paid to the carrier on a route is defined as the direct distance from the point of delivery that is furthest from the depot as opposed to be defined as the total distance of the route which is commonly found in the literature on vehicle routing problems. In addition, it is also considered categories, a set of similar products, which cannot be transported together because they are not compatible with each other. The objective of the proposed problem is to determine the grouping and sequencing of orders into vehicle shipments according to the operational characteristics described above, using a homogeneous fleet of capacitated vehicles that is located in a depot, in such a way that all the demand is delivered with the lowest freight possible. To solve this problem, it is proposed a mathematical formulation to obtain exact solutions and the implementation of the Multi Start Perturbation Tabu (MSPT) heuristic that is composed of the Greedy Randomized Adaptive Search Procedure (GRASP), Tabu Search (TS) and \"Iterated Local Search\" (ILS) for heuristic solutions. Finally, the experimental results indicate that the MSPT is competitive with the outcomes of the exact method with up to 5 hours of processing using the high performance computational resources of the Advanced Scientific Computation Laboratory (LCCA) of the University of São Paulo (USP).
