Psykiatrikers uppfattningar om etiska värderingar - finns ett behov av en gemensam värdegrund? :

Aretakis, Anna, Elisabeth, Hellmer January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine how psychiatrists understand the ethical values that form the basis of their daily work and if there are situations when these ethical values come into conflict with the practical conduct. The study also aimed to investigate if psychiatrists believe that there is a need for a set of mutual core values for psychiatry. Seven psychiatrists were interviewed and the interviews were transcribed and analyzed using a modified content analysis of Graneheim and Lundman. The result showed that the basic medical ethics to do good, not harm and promoting health are always included in the meeting with the patient. Individualized care is important. Psychiatrists valued autonomy high, but limits of autonomy were necessary in certain situations. Coercive measures were used in order to do good and all felt that they were justified when it saves lives and there is great risk of harm to the patient. Several felt that there was a need for a set of mutual core values in psychiatry, while others saw it as unnecessary. If the creation of a set of mutual core values will happen it must be through cooperation of both management and employees.

Johansson, Robin January 2012 (has links)
Abstract The purpose of my study was to examine how four social studies teachers in upper secondary school interprets the democratic educational mission and core values, and if they believe that the same values are tools to influence the students' democratic approach and if they think it is possible. It is also the study's minor purpose to make an analysis of my findings and previous research in the area to explain any similarities or differences in the social studies teacher's interpretation and practice of the democratic educational mission and core values. I used qualitative semi-structured interviews as a method in which the interview questions were based on my research questions. The two criteria I had for my sample of respondents was that there would be social studies teacher at a upper secondary school and that I wanted to have two of each sex. Their interpretation and how they think they practice the democratic educational mission and core values are similar. They highlight the importance of students who dare to say what they think, everyone should be treated equally and that they should prepare students for life in a democratic society. They also thought that they could influence students democratic approach but that there were other factors that weighed heavily, for example, the home environment. The answers from my study is similar to previous research. This I explained with the help of Dewey that the social studies teachers are democrats in one way or the other, because of that they possess a willingness to keep democracy and know how it works. Therefore, they convey similar democratic values and knowledge to students so that democracy can continue to exist while the students are given tools to change society within the democratic rules. Keywords: Social study teacher, the democratic mission, core values, education.

Chang, Wen-Chih 05 December 2010 (has links)
In an era of information and scientific technology, the marketing value and competitive advantage of a company is determined by its staff. An eligible employee is able to provide the organization with an outstanding performance and productivity while an ineligible one can waste the administration costs of recruiting and job training. Therefore, it is crucial for a company to investigate the key factors of how its novices¡¦ job values interact with its culture and of how the novices¡¦ EQ (emotion quotient) influence their job performance. The investigation assists the company not only in improving the efficiency of the recruiting but also in redesigning the work environment and managerial system, so as to achieve the goals of attracting capable talents and raising competition. The main purpose of this thesis is to discuss the influence of the job values and EQ of the staff in property insurance on their job performance. Our study will target the staff members in Taiwan by questionnaires through ways of convenient sampling. According to our study, the job values of the insurance staff do not influence their job performances directly. Nevertheless, First, the insurance staff need to have many kinds of professional knowledge and broad visions. Second, their workplaces and job properties are flexible and variable. Third, the insurance staff have to know a little basic law knowledge, and they have to negotiate or communicate with people to achieve compromises. Fourth, it¡¦s common for the insurance staff to contact any kind of people. Fifth, the insurance staff have special feelings and conceptions for their job values, which differentiate them from those whose workplaces and job properties are fixed and standardized. Emotional Quotient and job performances are proved to have positive and influential relationships. Our evidence verifies that outstanding insurance staff are aware of their emotions and they develop good interpersonal relationships by hiding and adjusting their emotions. Besides, the outstanding insurance staff develop their social skills well by extending their interpersonal relationships with their colleagues and society. In the end, they achieve the goals set by their companies.

The Role of Ethical Frames and Values on Teacher Interaction with Academic Policies

Kidd, Talesa S. 2010 May 1900 (has links)
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, fundamentally changed the focus of education in the United States from that of providing an opportunity for all to learn to mandating that all do learn. Central to this Act are the measures of school accountability established through assessment of learning policies. The development of these policies initiate with federal, state, and local governance bodies, but implementation takes place by individual teachers. Therefore, the failure of individual teachers to implement assessment policies with fidelity creates a fissure at the core of institutional credibility. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between teachers’ values and ethical frames and behavior with respect to academic misconduct. Findings offer clues as to how academic dishonesty might be reduced. There exists a large body of research that has probed academic dishonesty, values and ethical frames; however, there appears to be a void in research that distinctly connects the three. Utilizing a survey instrument, data were collected from elementary teachers (N=155) in one suburban school district. The collected data were then analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistical tests to inform six research questions. In some incidents, the small sample size produced violations of the assumptions of nonparametric statistical tests, thus hindering deeper analysis of selected data. However, the results in general appeared to support the hypothesis that elementary teachers appeared to engage in academic misconduct. The findings also appeared to suggest misconduct was influenced by social adaptation theory (R2N = .32); organizational socialization (Wald (1) =5.79, p < .05), values (Wald (1) =5.16, p < .05), and ethical frames (Wald (4) =25.22, p < .001). Thus, this study concluded that factors such as collaboration and professional development can possibly be utilized to reduce policy violations.

A total of 1081 pieces of lyric of popular songs which have been voted as the top 10 of each week in the CASHBOX Magazine from May, 1998 to May, 2003 were located to conduct the content analysis. The questionnaire, based upon the literature review and the results of the lyric content analyses, were filled out by 854 senior high schools students in Kaohsiung city and Kaohsiung county. The statistic measures of descriptive statistics, t-test, chi-squre test and cross tabulation analysis were used for the data analyses. The study concluded in the following findings: 1. Love values of Mandarin popular songs from May, 1998 to May, 2003: (1)Love is still the most important topic in popular songs. (2)Most popular songs usually present a situation of frustration or crisis during the love. (3)Most lyrics often reflect the negative side of love. 2. Love values of Taiwanese senior high school students (1)Most senior high students still hold more positive attitudes toward love. (2)The experiences of being boyfriend or girlfriend, whether to be in love presently and being crazy about popular songs or not, all three did make difference among the various aspects of love values of senior students. (3)Gender, school location and regularly listening to popular songs or not make no difference in students¡¦ love values. 3. The difference between the love vlues of lyrics and those of senior high school students. The results were that there existed a lot of differences between lyrics and senior high school students. Most lyrics offen reflect negative love values, but most senior high school students have opposite views toward love. According to the research results mentioned above, the researcher found that the love values of lyrics of popular songs were different from those of senior high school students. At the same time, the lyrics did not completely reflect the love world held by the adolescent. The Relationship Between CEO Management Value and Leadership Effectiveness: A View of Value-Based Leadership Perspective.

Chen, Yi-Jung 22 July 2004 (has links)
Recently, there is a trend in western leadership¡¦s studies emphasizing the influences of a leader¡¦s values and visions on subordinates. However, there is no one among various leadership researches in Taiwan especially emphasizing the influences of the leader¡¦s vision or value on leadership effectiveness. Based on the viewpoint that measuring the CEO¡¦s management values by his personal values is inappropriate, the purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of CEO¡¦s management values on leadership effectiveness from the perceptiveness of subordinates¡¦ perceptions. Totally, 47 institutions participated in this research, which consisted of 43 CEO interviews, 45 management value questionnaires from CEOs, and 252 subordinate questionnaires about their perceptions of the CEO¡¦S management value and his leadership effectiveness. In addiction to having found out the operational definition and 13 representative index of the ¡§CEO management value¡¨, this study further examined the construct validity of the ¡§CEO management value¡¨ scale. Besides, two other conclusive findings found are as following: First, the degree that subordinates¡¦ perceptions of the CEO¡¦S management value, regardless of ideological or pragmatic, would positively influence subordinates¡¦ evaluation about the CEO¡¦S leadership effectiveness. However, having compared the two dimensions of the CEO¡¦S management value, we found out that the ideological value was more influential than pragmatic value. Secondly, when compared with those of different perceptual outcome, subordinates, whose perceptions of the CEO¡¦S management value are the same as his/her CEO¡¦s self-perception, would give higher evaluation about his/her CEO¡¦S leadership effectiveness. This result emphasizes the importance that the CEO needs to communicate his management values to his subordinates.
