Disserta??o (Mestrado) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Zootecnia, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2012. / ABSTRACT The silvopastoral systems integrate trees, pasture and animals being excellent income alternative for farmers, and aligned with environmentally correct practices. However, promotes changes in production and quality of pasture, as well in the quantity and quality of light in the woodland. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of different spatial arrangements of trees and sampling locations in the quantity and quality of light in the woodland and its influence on production and chemical composition of the forage. The work was conducted at the Santa Rita Experimental Farm (FESR) belonging to the Empresa de Pesquisa Agropecu?ria de Minas Gerais (EPAMIG), from November 2011 to April 2012. The experimental design was a randomized block with 3 ? 4 factorial, split-plot. The plots were represented by the spatial arrangements of eucalyptus (20?(3?2) m, 9?(2?2) and 9?2m) and sampling sites (center and lateral of lines) and as subplots the cutting cycles . For dry mass production of the system, in the plots were allocated the spatial arrangements of eucalyptus, and in the subplots, the cutting cycles. There had been used a silvopastoral system implemented in June 2008, in an area of degraded pasture with predominance of Urochloa decumbens. Four harvests had been carried out, being the first in November, 2011; and the followings in January/March/April, 2012. The photosynthetically active radiation, and absolute irradiance, and red/distant red ratio in the harvesting cycle 2 (January/2012) have been monitored, and these were evaluated descriptively using means and subjected to correlation analysis and tested by T- test under 1% and 5% probability. There have been evaluated height, leaf:stem ratio-LSR; dry matter production-DMP and system`s dry matter production; as well as levels of fiber in neutral detergent ? FND; fiber in acid detergent ? FAD; dry matter - DM and crude protein - CP. The results were submitted to analysis of variance and the means were compared by Tukey test at 5%. The sampling site influenced the absolute irradiance (AI), being the centers of lines richest in radiation at wavelengths in the range 400-500nm. The incident photosynthetically active radiation (PARi), light interception (LI) and ratio red/far red (R/FR) were also higher in the center of the lines. Were observed high and positive correlations between LI/LAI, LI/DMP and LAI/DMP in the center of lines and between LI/LAI and PARi/DMP on the side of the lines. The arrangements under study affected the height, LSR, DMP and NDF and CP contents, being the 20?(3?2) m responsible for higher values for height, PMS and NDF and 9?(2?2) m for higher values of LSR and CP. Sampling locations influenced height and DMP, which were higher in the center of the lines, and DM content, which was greater on the side. The DMP system presented according to the differences evaluated spatial arrangements, and the increased production was observed in arrangement 20?(3?2) m followed by 9?2 m and 9?(2?2) m. The incident solar radiation in the woodland influences the parameters evaluated at different sampling sites, with the exception of chemical composition. The spatial arrangement of 20?(3?2) m provided better forage production, and arrangements with a spacing of or 9?2 m or 9?(2?2) m provide better chemical composition with higher CP and lower NDF contents.
