Integrador de Sistemas Heredados, Una solución para la Integración de InformaciónMuñoz Recuay, Edison Francisco January 2007 (has links)
The Legacy information systems were created with the purpose of automate process that before
of the informatics invention were made in a manual way, these systems have gained prominence
over the years because organizations have become increasingly dependent of them, and the
information they generate and manage have a great value. Nowadays new tendencies and
paradigms make that business and organizations base the majority of their process in information
systems and it is imperative that new technology can works together with legacy systems, for
this reason the information must be integrated. Therefore under this context, is necessary to raise
an alternative solution for integrating information of different legacy systems.
In this thesis, is examined the problem, is described the importance of legacy systems in
contrast with new current technological tendencies, besides is analyzed tools which we can
achieve information integration and is purposed an alternative solution to problem through a
multiplatform information system integrator, additionally, it proposes a integration methodology,
leaving an established base to perform the development of a new system in order to replace the
legacy system. The proposed solution has been proven through a case study in a business tourism
sector, which was able to verify: that it is possible to integrate information from a system that
handles flat files, display the information on a web interface for example, and start migration to a
new relational database. After completing the proof of solution, we can say that this can integrate
information regardless of the operating system and can be used in different organizations or
companies.
diversos sistemas legacy o heredados.
organizaciones o empresas.

Understanding pedagogic shifts from concrete to abstract conceptions of number.Alexander, Michele 19 May 2015 (has links)
My research study aimed to explore the pedagogic shifts between working with concrete to more abstract conceptions of number. By using a case study approach focused on a grade 2 (G2) Foundation Phase (FP) teacher who retained her class into grade 3 (G3), I gathered data on her teaching over two years (2012-13) in the context of the ‘Lesson Starters Project’ (LSP). In addition, the teacher also participated in another project within the Wits Maths Connect Primary project (WMC-P) which was focused on developing content knowledge related to primary mathematics during 2013. Whilst content knowledge course assessment indicated gains through this year, the teacher’s results indicated gaps in mathematical content knowledge - a feature that literature has highlighted as quite common amongst primary teachers in South Africa and internationally. My focus in this study is on the extent to which this teacher in the LSP professional development project specialised content and modes of representation and showed connections between these aspects.
The findings showed that there were varying degrees of specialisation of content and specialisation of representations. In other words, the teacher is seen to make the mathematics more sophisticated in conjunction with the use of a variety of representations or strategies. There was evidence that the degree of shifts towards more abstract strategies depended at least partially on the teacher’s beliefs about the abilities of different learners in her class.

Minimal zero-dimensional extensionsUnknown Date (has links)
The structure of minimal zero-dimensional extension of rings with Noetherian spectrum in which zero is a primary ideal and with at most one prime ideal of height greater than one is determined. These rings include K[[X,T]] where K is a field and Dedenkind domains, but need not be Noetherian nor integrally closed. We show that for such a ring R there is a one-to-one correspondence between isomorphism classes of minimal zero-dimensional extensions of R and sets M, where the elements of M are ideals of R primary for distinct prime ideals of height greater than zero. A subsidiary result is the classification of minimal zero-dimensional extensions of general ZPI-rings. / by Marcela Chiorescu. / Thesis (Ph.D.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2009. / Includes bibliography. / Electronic reproduction. Solace: Intimately Remembered PlacesUnknown Date (has links)
The culmination of my graduate research and investigations is my thesis
exhibition Solace; Intimately Remembered Places. This body of paintings is a visual
representation of land, water and flora that focuses on my abstraction of nature to extract
essential elements that expresses my deep connection to a specific time and place, layered
with associated memories. By revisiting a landscape over a sustained period of time, I
developed a personal visual vocabulary to communicate the essential abstract forms of
nature and record the subtle nuances of color, light, shape, texture, positive and negative
space to evoke a particular time and place. I expanded my painting techniques through
the addition of a laser cutter. Rooted in a background of graphic design, my thesis also
incorporated and included a book form using similar strategies. / Includes bibliography. / Thesis (M.F.A.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2017. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection

Unique decomposition of direct sums of idealsUnknown Date (has links)
We say that a commutative ring R has the unique decomposition into ideals (UDI) property if, for any R-module which decomposes into a finite direct sum of indecomposable ideals, this decomposition is unique up to the order and isomorphism class of the ideals. In a 2001 paper, Goeters and Olberding characterize the UDI property for Noetherian integral domains. In Chapters 1-3 the UDI property for reduced Noetherian rings is characterized. In Chapter 4 it is shown that overrings of one-dimensional reduced commutative Noetherian rings with the UDI property have the UDI property, also. In Chapter 5 we show that the UDI property implies the Krull-Schmidt property for direct sums of torsion-free rank one modules for a reduced local commutative Noetherian one-dimensional ring R. / by Basak Ay. / Thesis (Ph.D.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2010. / Includes bibliography. / Electronic reproduction. Geografia e Arte no ensino fundamental: reflexões teóricas e procedimentos metodológicos para uma leitura da paisagem geográfica e da pintura abstrata / Geography and art in the elementary education: theoretical reflections and methodological procedures for a perception of geographical landscapes and abstract paintingMyanaki, Jacqueline 24 October 2008 (has links)
The main objective of this research is the study, development and application of a set of introductory methodological procedures for the study and perception of geographical landscapes in elementary education. It is a proposal for the synchronization of the course content of Art and Geography based on the concept of the landscape as a non-verbal text, whose organization of study procedures relies on semiotic assistance. The Art-related content investigated in this thesis aims to identify transformations of the polyssemic notion of landscapes, focusing on informal abstractism and landscapes painted by the Brazilian painter Antônio Bandeira - one of the foremost examples of this tendency in Brazil - in order to create a feasible alternative process for the esthetic perception of landscapes. Geography content is mainly in accordance with recent research in Cultural Geography, which, upon receiving several contributions and influences, for example from Anthropology, History, and phenomenological and existentialist Philosophy, envisages a landscape as a text and a cultural mark and matrix. This approach was the main inspiration for this research. After theoretical reflection, an experiment was carried out involving a part of the proposed methodological procedures among 7th grade students. The results show that a change in perception and study of geographical landscapes is possible, when the landscape models are also modified. The abandonment of the perspective and incorporation of several points of view into a single landscape (horizontal, vertical and oblique view) was noted; addition of olfactory, audio and touch sensations; the contentment of an affective scale in the representation of elements; the possibility of a connection with the learning of map representations, given the abstract character of contemporary landscape paintings; the non-verbal study as a stimulus to verbal expression; a high-level of interest on the part of students not only in the content developed, but mainly in the strategies involving art and gouache painting

Previous issue date: 2017-08-11 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / This research proposes the abstract subjective production of artistic action as intrinsic
to the technical arrangements of social production. The investigation is based on the
conception of abstract subjective production, as shown by Deleuze and Guattari, as well
as on the understanding of technical arrangements – museums, schools, industries – as
parts of the social machine, inspired by the concept of technical machine, of the same
authors. The object of study is the abstract subjective essence of art, as a process of
abstraction typical of artistic machines. Artistic production necessarily involves an
abstract subjective essence, beyond determinate objective representations. Artistic
machines are productive arrangements from which abstraction techniques exceed the
limits of symbolic systems toward praxis based on decoded flows contingent to the
socius. These machines operate as functional parts to the capitalist economy by
supporting its productive performance – for instance, scientific machines –, but also
concern the formation of arrangements that overcome the regulatory injunctions of this
A produção artística
As máquinas artísticas seriam agenciamentos

Evaluating immersive approaches to multidimensional information visualization / Avaliando abordagens imersivas para visualização de informações multidimensionaisWagner Filho, Jorge Alberto January 2018 (has links)
The use of novel displays and interaction resources to support immersive data visualization and improve the analytical reasoning is a research trend in Information Visualization. In this work, we evaluate the use of HMD-based environments for the exploration of multidimensional data, represented in 3D scatterplots as a result of dimensionality reduction. We present a new modelling for the evaluation problem in such a context, accounting for the two factors whose interplay determine the impact on the overall task performance: the difference in errors introduced by performing dimensionality reduction to 2D or 3D, and the difference in human perception errors under different visualization conditions. This two-step framework offers a simple approach to estimate the benefits of using an immersive 3D setup for a particular dataset. As use case, the dimensionality reduction errors for a series of roll calls datasets when using two or three dimensions are evaluated through an empirical task-based approach. The perception error and overall task performance are assessed through controlled comparative user studies. When comparing desktop-based (2D and 3D) with an HMD-based (3D) visualization, initial results indicated that perception errors were low and similar in all approaches, resulting in overall performance benefits in both 3D techniques. The immersive condition, however, was found to require less effort to find information and less navigation, besides providing much larger subjective perception of accuracy and engagement. Nonetheless, the use of flying navigation resulted in inefficient times and frequent user discomfort In a second moment, we implemented and evaluated an alternative data exploration approach where the user remains seated and viewpoint change is only realisable through physical movements. All manipulation is done directly by natural mid-air gestures, with the data being rendered at arm’s reach. The virtual reproduction of an exact copy of the analyst’s desk aims to increase immersion and enable tangible interaction with controls and two dimensional associated information. A second user study was carried out comparing this scenario to a desktop-based equivalent, exploring a set of 9 representative perception and interaction tasks based on previous literature. We demonstrate that our prototype setup, named VirtualDesk, presents excellent results regarding user comfort and immersion, and performs equally or better in all analytical tasks, while adding minimal or no time overhead and amplifying data exploration.
