This thesis focuses on the use of englishisms in Spanish daily newspapers. The goal of this thesis is to investigate the influence of English on Spanish and to confirm this influence through English borrowings found in Spanish newspapers. Another goal of this work is to find out causes and reasons for using these borrowings in newspapers. The technical linguistic terms, which are important for this research, are explained in the theoretic part. We deal with different concepts of englishism by various linguists. The practical part includes a detailed analysis and classification of lexical englishisms.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the integration of anglicisms into French from a phonetic point of view. The theoretical part deals with the delimitation of the term 'anglicism', its place in the French lexis, a comparison of the phonological systems of both languages and the regularities in phonetic adaptation of anglicisms in the target language. The practical part includes an analysis of the pronunciation of chosen anglicisms. It records variation in lexicographical works as well as in real speech and determines the degree of variability, based on recordings of native speakers. The thesis proceeds from the assumption that anglicisms were, are and will continue to be a highly relevant issue. In spite of all the measures aimed against their integration into the French lexis, they have their place in it, often in several pronunciation variants - whether due to the different inventory of phonemes or to sociolinguistic factors. The thesis deals with the variability of spelling of English loanwords in the Czech language, both from the diachronic and synchronic point of view. It explores Anglicisms in the Czech vocabulary in general, and focuses on the borrowings and their spelling variants occurring in recent journalistic texts. It also examines how the original spelling and pronunciation influence the final form of the loanword which eventually becomes standardised in Czech. The theoretical part describes the phonetic changes that take place when a word is borrowed and also the differences in the phonological systems of Czech and English. The practical part deals with competing alternatives of English loanwords in Czech, both those already firmly established and the newly borrowed ones, which are more likely to occur in dual spelling in the current Czech language.

The aim of this paper is to examine how anglicisms infiltrate into Romanian language, their influence on Romanian language and how these anglicisms are adapted to the language system. There is a comparison between adaptation of anglicisms in Czech and Romanian language. Next chapter describes also the difference between Czech and Romanian view on the definition of neologism. Examined are various cases including changing of the meaning, words that must be adopted, because they cannot be found in Romanian vocabulary or the opposite case - unnecessary anglicisms that have corresponding Romanian analogues. The paper also focuses on etymology of anglicisms, abbreviations, as well as mistakes, which may occur during adoption of English words into Romanian language. The last part examines morphology, especially the issue of gender and formation of plural forms.

This thesis deals with the language of players of video games, especially computer games. The language sample was taken from written as well as spoken sources - magazines, web reviews and Let's Plays - and is limited to action, strategic and RPG games with some overlap with action-adventures. Researched words are mainly keywords of video game players' vocabulary. The goal of this thesis was to describe the language of video game players from several language viewpoints and briefly describe the slang of the players. The first part deals with introducing the researched material, video games as a whole and their history and also the subculture of video game players. The second part analyses the sample in terms of lexical semantics and word formation, describes the extent of adaptation of loanwords, also stabilization of words, neology and the words' affiliation to slang, terminology and common vocabulary. Then the thesis attempts to briefly describe the slang of video game players. Generally, the slang includes a large number of anglicisms and expressions from informatics (in a large part technical terms), while loanwords are adapted to a varying degree. The graduate's thesis deals with analysis of anglicisms as neologisms on the border of 20th - 21st century in Czech and Russian. In this thesis, the explanation of the causes of the intensive adoption of loanwords from English has been presented. The analysis of anglicisms from the viewpoint of stucture, morphological adaptation and word-forming has been carried out. The secondary aim of this analysis is to trace the manners of integration of anglicims into the Czech language system in comparison with the Russian language.
