Horáková, Markéta January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis primarily deals with anglicisms in magazines Bravo, Cosmopolitan and Popcorn in 1994, 2004 and 2014 in terms of linguistic, journalistic and pragmatic point of view. The thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part provides an interpretation focusing on the issue of acceptance of English loanwords into the Czech language, their work with them, their eventual integration into the language and stylistic force in the Czech articles. Finally, it takes into account the pragmatic aspect of the texts. The analytical part presents and explains specific examples of anglicisms in the selected magazines, works with adapting processes, and also shows its pragmatic and journalistic functions. On the basis of particular examples from selected magazines, the aim of this thesis is to describe the role of anglicisms in the texts, the way they are treated in the texts, how they are changed in order to serve the journalistic purposes, and how they influence the final form of media content, respectively the whole language system.

Anglicizmy v pořadech českých a ruských rádií / Anglicisms in Programs of Czech and Russian Commercial Radios

Kaplanová, Oksana January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to show, on the basis of selected words, how the borrowed Anglicisms are used in the Russian and the Czech language. The goal is to familiarize the reader with neologisms, in particular with their creation and adaptation in the two languages. On the selected fifteen words we show how the borrowed words are used in both languages and how their integration to the language is similar. In the thesis we have shown the significance of Anglicisms in the languages and the possibilities of their derivatives and adaptation to the given system of the language. The main result of the thesis is a list of words which enables us to observe linguistic tendencies of borrowed words in the past decades. This list enriches the reader with borrowed words that are not so frequent for the reader to know them. The results which we have accomplished will enable us to focus on further research concerning this issue in the future. Key words New vocabulary, foreign words, neologisms, anglicisms, borrowing

Znají žáci základních a středních škol význam nově přejatých anglicismů? / Do pupils of primary and secondary schools know meaning of newly borrowed anglicisms?

Jindřichová, Jana January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with comprehension of newly borrowed anglicisms into the Czech language. As newly borrowed we considered those which are listed in the dictionaries of neologisms, or have not been included in them yet. The comprehension was tested at primary school pupils and students of lower secondary school. The theoretical part describes ways of enriching vocabulary, especially borrowing from foreign languages. The main research method used in the practical part was a survey. It took place in April 2014 among the pupils of the 6th and 9th classes at one of Prague's primary schools and in corresponding classes at Opava secondary school. The results were related to the sex and age of the respondents and also to the type of school they are attending. We observed increased number of successful responses in closed questions testing the passive comprehension of anglicisms than in the open-ended questions testing the active comprehension of anglicisms. Comparing responses by gender, girls reached higher percentage of successful answers or the successful answers of boys and girls were balanced. The most striking differences brought comparison of respondents by age. Older pupils reached on all issues significantly higher success rate than younger pupils. Differences were also observed in the...

Šimsová, Anna January 2020 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is a comparison of attitude to English loanwords in Czech and Danish. The process of adopting anglicisms into both languages is viewed from several different angles in effort to provide a complex picture of the researched issue. The first part is devoted to the description of the diachronic development of Czech and Danish, especially to the influence of foreign languages on their vocabulary. In this part there is also defined used terminology and the theoretical framework is described, i.e. ways of enriching vocabulary and characterization of borrowings from foreign languages. Jazykové porozumění napříč generacemi / Language understanding across generations

NĚMEČKOVÁ, Lucie January 2016 (has links)
The work deals with understanding the language of the older generation by young people and vice versa - how the old generation understands the present-day youth; how the old generation is versed in expressions commonly used by the young. The work is divided into a theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part at first deals with lexis in general and then briefly presents word formation and vocabulary enrichment. The following chapter discusses structures of the national language, which was also a base for the practical part as the questionnaire contained a task proving knowledge of literary expressions. The questionnaire as a whole deals with issues of standard and non-standard levels of Czech. The last chapter of the theoretical part covers the term "youth" and age limits of this social group. Special attention is then paid to features of young people's language. The practical part deals in detail with results shown in questionnaires prepared in regard to the topic of this bachelor thesis. It thoroughly compares results in each task both with the young and the old generations. Each task for the individual age categories of respondents is shown in the form of a chart. The last part of the work presents a tabular summary of success rates for each age group of respondents in particular tasks. In this work, I also decided to compare the results of my survey via questionnaires among secondary school students in a grammar school, a vocational school and a training school. The results concerning students of secondary technical and vocational schools are shown in the diagrams at the end of the practical part. There are also tables comparing the success rate in individual tasks with students of all the three types (grammar school - vocational school - training school) of secondary schools.
